My husband got a porcelain filter cone in a local store, to replace the plastic one we had been using, and it turned out to be so heavy I was afraid to use it on our glass carafe, so was looking for an alternative.
The porcelain filter is a different brand, but it works fine with this carafe, which is perfectly sized and very attractive. Capacity-wise it has a lot of extra room when we make our customary 500 ml (2 x 8-oz. cups) of coffee using a no. 4 filter; but that means it could be also used to make more for a guest.
Unlike our glass carafe, of course, the coffee level inside is not visible, so we measure the hot water before pouring over the coffee in the filter in order to get the appropriate amount.
