   A gift for my father-in-law, to replace a simpler coffee pot AND a different more complicated coffee pot that was harder to use. So far so good: Grinder works well, brews well, an the cleaning feature is well thought out. Of course only time will tell how well it stands up to daily use, but if anything interesting is noted this review will be updated.

   While I really loved this the first two times I used it. The ground coffee door started having issues. The coffee didn’t want to start brewing. Which was due to the little slide button when the door latches doesn’t get pressed all the way up to start. I do love the many options between programming, how many cups you’d want to make, the 3 levels of strangeness. Rather you want to grind your coffee up top or use regular coffee grinds. But that’s the fault I’ve found with this. Hopefully mine is just a dud vs others. As I really do like this. It’s very affordable and has a great look with all the functions and a good 10 cup pot size.

   This is the brewing is perfect for my coffee bar and the grinder is built in! The grinder is also adjustable. I also love it’s large capacity for water and it has one button press settings for smaller 2-4 cup brewing. There is touch screen with easy settings for the clock and automatic timer. This brewer made the hottest and freshest drip coffee I’ve had in a long time. The machine is fully loaded and looks so beautiful too with the stainless steel.

   I liked how this Ivation coffee maker looks; conceptually, a built-in grinder sounds excellent. I think that, as a coffeemaker, it’s average. It has a timer and other functions that can be useful but are standard by today’s coffee makers. I’m interested in controlling coffee extraction and had difficulty dialing in this coffeemaker. At some point, I just gave up. The grinder was inconsistent and sometimes struggled to grind; the water temperature was also erratic. Overall, the coffee was over-extracted or, weirdly, under-extracted. The story here is that there’s a lot of competition out there, and for this price point, there are much better-performing coffee makers.

   This coffee maker is not the most user friendly maker on the market, i often find myself unplugging after each use as it just wouldn’t turn off after. I’m still trying to figure out how to turn off the machine after using, but there’s no off button. I often find myself just unplugging it to avoid the hassle of waiting. The machine does work as advertise, will grind the hold beans then push the grounded coffee into the filter and fill it with water to brew the coffee. However, I had a hard time trying to get this thing to work after a second time. Every time i press the start button, the machine would just froze and not move. I had clean the machine internally and externally, thinking maybe it got stuck somewhere but still no use. After i unplug it, left it for a while and replug it back in, it started to work again. I’m really frustrated with the product at this point and I would not recommend this to anyone until I figure out why.

   I was really looking forward to this coffee machine as a replacement for my old coffee maker. However, after using it for a week, that’s not going to happen. The first time I used it to grind coffee, it worked just fine. But when it came to brewing, instead of giving me enough for two cups, it gave me enough for four cups, and as a result, it watered down the coffee. The only solution I found was to manually add the exact amount of water I wanted. Second, the instructions are not very clear. Some icons are unexplained, forcing users to figure them out on their own. I was hoping for simplicity in this coffee maker, but it seems to have the opposite effect. The other day, I tried to make coffee for my father-in-law, but the machine wouldn’t start. It took me about 15 minutes to figure out how to get it working again. I’m not sure why, but I had to long-press the On button (the play icon button) for 10 seconds to initiate the brewing process. I was really hoping to enjoy this coffee maker, but unfortunately, my experience with it over the past few weeks has been disappointing.

   I’ve been using a very basic coffee maker for a while, so the idea of one with a built-in grinder that I could program sounded great. It looks nice, and worked fine a few times…but overall, it’s been a nightmare. It actually brews coffee half the time; the other half of the time, it will either turn on and do nothing, or won’t start at all (it’s a coffee maker, I am not trying to troubleshoot a coffee maker first thing in the morning). Also had the same issue another reviewer had where a LOT of water leaked out of the bottom of the water tank after I’d set the coffee maker up for the next morning. Programming it was easy enough, but then the next morning…no coffee, just a blinking red button indicating that the coffee maker had started, but apparently then did nothing. Definitely going back to my basic coffee maker that actually makes coffee.

    I loved the dimensions because the Ivation coffee maker fits easily into its designated space on my counter. Sadly, this appliance is not the most user-friendly coffee maker available. I must unplug it after each use because it appears to have a short circuit.

    The first thing I noticed was how big this thing is! It’s what the dimensions listed, but I had no idea, hahaha. Make sure you know the space you want to put it in!

    The programming is pretty easy. The instructions help break it down as long as you have the patience to read, hahaha.
