Let first state that I bought 2 these as Christmas presents for family members, so I can’t speak to everything except to say that everyone was elated with them and called me to tell me how much they loved making coffee & lattes. I have had a different model for the last year and a half and have loved it. I have never had a minutes trouble with it. I have developed a true liking for a latte in the evenings. 5 stars on the one I own. Since I bought some for family members, you know I recommend it.

The machine we had before was a De’Longhi Magnifica. Compared to it, the Jura E6 surpassed our expectations. The grinder is much quieter and the crema is professional level. Always a tasty cup. Also much, much easier to clean! My only complaint is the machine doesn’t heat up milk very high for cappuccinos and it’s tepid at best. (I use a separate milk frother anyway).

I LOVE how easy and self contained it is but I hate the JURA website …
The booklet is explanatory sort of. But once you try it it is quite simple. The book and the website make it sound very mysterious and complicated. The espresso and self cleaning feature is the BEST
It came totally protected in 3 separate thick cardboard boxes !!

Not a huge fan of the “Coffee” setting…it puts all of the water through the grounds, which starts to extract some bitter compounds. I prefer Americano, which this machine can easily do. Not a huge fan of the cappuccino function…it doesn’t generate much foam (more like a latte) and what foam there is collapses within 20 minutes. I wish it had a hand steamer so I could make the milk as foamy as I like. It seems like the machine rinses the coffee system too often. When the machine turns off it rinses, and when it turns back on, it rinses again. Seems excessive. Finally, 2 espresso/cappuccino/coffee setting doesn’t seem to change the amont of coffee grounds it uses…the puck in the waste bin is the same size whether I do 1 or 2. As a result, I only ever make 1 at a time, and separately make a second one. This is a minor inconvenience. All in all, it makes good espresso, and the convenience factor of the automation is nice, but the quirks I’ve listed keep me from giving it more stars.

We did spend more on this than we have ever before on an espresso machine. But that having been said, it is also the quietest, makes the best coffee, and is very easy to set up and use. The bean hopper and used grounds container are large enough that it’s not a constant refill and dump.
We drink a lot of coffee around our house, which is why we went with a Jura. They are known for their durability and we haven’t been disappointed. Our friends and family comment on how good the coffee and espresso are, and our son just bought this exact machine.
