   My mom is technologically-challenged and pressed for time — the intended audience for Keurig machines. I gave her this for Christmas and it’s been a big hit. However, I have been disappointed that the Vue cups are so hard to find in brick-and-mortar stores (her preferred shopping habitat). I’ve owned two original Keurigs (non-Vue models) but ultimately felt they were gimmicky, poor quality, and expensive (both upfront and ongoing for cups). I expect this one to be the same. If it lasts between 12 and 18 months and provides my mom with hot coffee and a bit of marvel 5-7 times a week, I’ll be satisfied enough.

   I looked at so many different keurigs I was completely confused on which one or kind to buy. I found this one at a great price and the frothing feature really sealed the deal for me. It takes vue cups which are rather hard to find in my area, I’ve only found them at bed bath and beyond, but you can get an adaptor for the k cups to work in it. It’s very simple to use. it has an automatic turn on and off feature plus an automatic shut off you can set for so many hours. You can set the temperature as well. My taller cups don’t fit with the drip tray in so I pull out the silver ring and put it in the base of the drip tray just in case of spills. works like a charm! definitely happy I got this keurig. I’m addicted for sure! Also I got my keurig for free by saving up free coffeemakers.us.com gift cards I earned!!!

   I looked at all the Keurig brewers before I finally decided on the V500. I learned it had a good-sized water reservoir and that it would make 16 ounces of coffee, that it heated up fast, and produced the beverage in about a minute. BUT, I didn’t know it used something other than KCups, that there are only a few different VUE Packs available as yet, and that they are much more expensive when and if you can even find them. WalMart, for instance, has a huge selection of KCups but only 4 different VUE Packs on their shelves. COSTCO has huge inexpensive boxes of KCups but not a single VUE Pack in the store. The brewer itself however, does an excellent job: the coffee is much stronger and better tasting than when made from the KCups – but, I wouldn’t have bought it had I known it was completely different from the ubiquitous Keurig Brewers that use the KCups. I’ve contacted Keurig about the lack of coffee/tea brands available and they’ve said they are adding new selections all the time. I hope the price of the VUE Packs will also go down. Before you buy on of the VUE Brewers, be sure you understand that this is a completely different system from the KCup Brewers.

   Worked great for about 45 days, but the water pump has now failed making this item useless. Since it broke after the 30 coffeemakers.us.com return policy, the seller has offered no help. Hoping Keurig will step up and replace. Waiting to hear from them and will update.

   UPDATE: While coffeemakers.us.com was no help after 30 days, Keurig was great and is shipping me a new, upgraded model (K475) as the old one is discontinued. Kudos to Keurig for their excellent customer service!

   It is hard to find the Vue Packs in the store but that’s o.k. I never have any problem finding plenty of Vue Packs in whatever flavor when I go to coffeemakers.us.com.com…I have gotten so lazy anymore if I can buy it at coffeemakers.us.com.com I do…I like the fact that I can make lattes and fill up a travel size mug…I also bought the filter pod so I can use my own coffee…The Vue Packs are a little more expensive then the regular K Cups…But it’s still worth the money for a great cup of coffee and to be able to do a lot more than just the regular Keurig does. I’m sure in time like anything the Vue Packs will become available in the grocery stores and the price will come down…

   I like the product but would like it more if finding the Vue Packs wasn’t so difficult. Grocery stores carry other brewing system packs but no Vue packs. After looking around town for 2 weeks, I happened to find only two 12 count packages in Khol’s while shopping. I’m sure I would give a 5 star rating if I could use it. We are able to use our large travel mugs. We are able to brew the strength we want. What I like about this brewing system means nothing if I can’t use it.
