   This is an excellent portable coffee press flask. While it might not keep your coffee very warm for extend periods, this is however a very easy to use and brew coffee on the go. The micro filter is perhaps the best damn filter you would ever use. It performs exceptionally well with coarse to medium grounds and I have also brewed some using slighter finer grounds as well and it had no issues filtering it. Only wished it would brew more than a cup and half of coffee at a time

   I had purchased this product thinking that I would receive a new and unused item. The moment I removed the lid to take a look at everything, already I could smell old coffee, and upon closer inspection there were scratches and scuffs on the side. For a moment, I wondered if I had not made a mistake and accidentally ordered a used item, but upon double checking my purchase history, indeed the condition was described as new. My press was definitely NOT new though, as there were even stains inside the cup and coffee grounds at the bottom. I will be returning this.

   I read some skeptical reviews but purchased it anyway because the idea of a French press on-the-go intrigued me. I LOVE THIS THING!!! Been using for a week already at work since I don’t want to make coffee using the office coffee maker anymore. It comes with this little spoon and with that I add four spoonfuls of coffee, then I add water about an inch below the suggested line, it actually recommends 3 cm below the line. Then press and voila’. The coffee comes out soooo good. For those of you who said the water spills over when you press it, you’re definitely adding way too much water. It may not look like it hold much but it fills a mug almost to the top, just enough to add a little milk. And it tastes so fresh, I’m in love with it.

   As a frequent traveler, I wanted this to be a better product. I find myself in countries where the closest thing to coffee is Nescafe, even when such countries export world class coffee. On paper it seems like the perfect solution for coffee on the go. Paired with a hand crank coffee grinder, I am able to make a decent cup wherever I find myself. You can also use the Kohipress as a standard traveler tumbler at a coffeeshop, though I have found several of ounces of coffee will migrate into the grounds chamber below the filter. My major complaint with this device is the seemingly unavoidable mess that I make every time I use it. When pressing the coffee, liquid and grinds inevitably seeps up in the space between the metal tumbler and plastic clyinder, spilling hot coffee out onto the table (if you are lucky) or your hands / pants / etc. This seems to be a constant issue with this device, significantly reducing it’s utility. Your mileage may vary.

    As a flight attendant, I travel with this, a collapsible electric kettle, and a travel coffee canister. it keeps the coffee hot, although I usually pour it into the coffee cups in my hotel room. It makes great tasting coffee, really brings out the flavor in tea, and is extremely portable.. The only drawback is it can be a bit hard to get bits off coffee grinds out of the corners of the screen, but even that’s not too bad. It’s a great buy for travelers.

    I spent a lot of time researching similar products, and finally settled on this one. Definitely glad I did. The coffee at my work is so bitter and disgusting, but I definitely need my cup in the morning. This product delivers a fresh cup of good coffee every time I use it. Keeps it very hot for very long, so much so that I have to use an ice cube to cool it down to be able to drink. How I use it: First I section out my coffee into those little condiment/jello shot cups at home, that way it’s easy to transport to work. Next I pour the coffee grounds into the metal part and add hot water. I let mine sit and brew for about 5 minutes and then press. I leave the drinking lid off while pressing, it seems to help the airflow escape better. When that’s done, I add my cream and sugar and an ice cube, screw the lid on, and it’s ready to go!

    I’ve only had the Kohipress Portable French Press for 3 days but I’ve managed to use it everyday. I needed a portable coffee maker to take with me to prepare just in case coffee wasn’t provided at a location. It fits perfectly in my bag. I had ground coffee in a separate ziplock but I guess I could have easily left it at the bottom of the french press. I wasn’t sure if adding sugar or creamers would affect the press (after pushing the pump down) but it didn’t. I initially thought the amount of coffee in the top container (what you end up drinking) wasn’t enough but to my surprise it was more than enough. It has found a home on my desk at work where I can brew coffee while sending emails.

    I use the Kohipress on and off for last few months. I did not like it at all in the beginning – the plunger filter got clogged up easily and I had a hard time pushing down and a few accidental spilled from pushing too hard; the other problem is cleaning the filter. If your coffee grind is too fine, you’ll have a tough time cleaning it. I somehow worked with it and figured how to deal with the above quirks: 1. you must stir the coffee per instruction prior to push down the plunger 2. if you experience resistance, slightly pull out the plunger and press down again. repeat 3. for cleaning, with the plunger all the way down, I fill the kohipress with soapy water and then pull and push the plunger (pumping action). this seems to help dislodging coffee grinds around the filter. Caution you – if your have fine ground coffee you may need a small brush to clear the filter. Once I figured out how to work around the quirks, I love the result and convenience of brewing with Kohipress. I love the Siphon coffee setup at home the most but this is so much more convenient. Recommended.

    I got this along with a collapsible water kettle to put in my travel bag, rather than deal with scrounging for coffee during work trips. Flavor is good once I got the water/coffee ratio I wanted. Likes: easy to clean, easy to transport Dislikes: wish it was much bigger – I could drink 3-4 of these.
