   Let me start by saying in the past I have been a fan of Krups coffee makers, but this one leaves something to be desired. I seem to replaced coffee makers about every two years and usually buy a Krups. I like my coffee steaming hot, and most of the other brands only produce warm coffee. This model lives up to the brand reputation for producing hot coffee, but that is about it. I did read the online reviews before purchasing and agree that the dripping carafe is a annoyance, but found if I pour slowly over the sink the pot is less likely to drip. Obviously someone at Krups did not do their homework over this bad design. I do like the removable water tank, and so far no leaking. Not quite sure why if I fill the tank with 9 cups of water I only get 8 cups of coffee. The coffee maker is larger than my previous unit and takes up more counter space. If I had to buy to one again I probably would not purchase this unit, but for the price, couldn’t pass it up.

   The carafe is definitely defective. A quick email to customer support and we had a new carafe within a week. I posted a picture of the old and new one so you can tell which one you’ve got.
