   This coffee maker works great for a single cup and you won’t have the plastic waste you get from a cartridge type (Kurigj maker. However, there are a few caveats. First, the basket filter provided with the coffee maker is not dense enough to keep out all the dregs. With this filter alone, you will have fine bits of coff grounds in the last gulp. I don’t live that, so I got paper filters that need to be fitted into the basket but make the coffee good to the last drop. Second, I found two minor design flaws that led me to giving only four stars. The first flaw is that the opening at the top does not leave enough room to easily pour th water in. Th first few times I tried, the water went mostly on the counter. After several times with spillage, I finally have it down but it would have been easier with more room. Th other flaw, is that when you open the lid to put in coffee and water, the condensation on the inside of the lid, runs down the back of the the maker onto the counter. This could have been prevented by adding a small piece of plastic along the back of the opening and attaching the hinges to it so the condensation would run into the water well instead of down the back.    Perfect for anyone who likes their own brand of ground coffee ☕️. It takes about 3 minutes… or bad for a fresh brewed cup of coffee. The flavor is good, no problems with aftertaste. It’s easy to clean and you get a really nice tumbler with it. KRUPS is a quality brand..we had a regular coffee maker from KRUPS that lasted forever. I think this should be going strong for a long time. Would make a great, especially for single person, college student, co-worker, etc. Definitely recommend.

   I’ve had this for about a month now and am liking it very much. I haven’t taken the water temperature as it comes out of the spray head, but the coffee is good and hot. I love that it takes up very little space on the counter. I grind the beans and use filtered water, and I make the largest amount it will take. My Contigo thermos fits on the base, and in that, the coffee stays hot for several hours. I use a paper filter instead of the included filter as I don’t like any sediment. A size 2 paper filter folded so the sides are a little bit straighter fits very well.

   I’ve had this for more than 1 year. Seems they grind coffee finer theses days. That leaves ‘silt’ in the cup. (was better years ago). Look at their pix and mine and decide which is easier. My way I don’t have to clean spills or drink ‘silt’. (this costs $78 at walmart)

   I’ve had a number of single brew drip brewers over the years. The worst was one that alternately also did K cups. My favorite was a little $8 one from Walmart, but it burned out. I would have bought six of them, but they stopped making it. The recent dedicated drip Brewer began to have “electrical smells?” I mean I would turn the corner and smell that smell and they would be. “!!!!” in my head so I decided it’s time to stop using it and buy a new one. This one was an offer and it is the highest quality of all of them I have ever had.. it is also a little bit of an improvement over each and evert one. It’s large enough you do not need a separate reservoir door. I’m doing fine with that. It’s tall enough to accept my favorite mug without being so aggressive that there’s splashing going on. The speed of brew and temperature is very good. The flavor is being properly liberated from the grounds. The permanent filter rinses beautifully, and does not stain. The construction is high-quality and stable. I’m really happy with this one. The stainless steel Tumblr that comes with it is high-quality, I have used it and it works well. I now use it for a quick water Tumblr and continue to use with my favorite Aladdin mugs that are in pristine condition that I bought in 1980 something. I’m rambling now. I do recommend this product.

The quality of the coffee is better than the other makers I have tried. My concern is the light weight of the coffee maker and how long it will hold up, but so far so good.

    The coffee maker worked as it should. The quality of the coffee maker looks good. It comes with its coffee mug, but after making coffee the mug feels hot on the outs side, which I did not like because I had a hard time handling the mug.

    — Caution!! – The outside of the stainless steel tumbler gets VERY HOT to grab, be careful not to burn yourself or drop the tumbler when reacting to the heat. – Do not overfill the water reservoir – it’s a good idea to ALWAYS use the stainless steel tumbler to pour water into the reservoir to prevent overfilling. — Pros – Compact, lightweight and stylish; This unit has dimensions of approximately 5”W x 6”D x 12.5”H and weighs in at 1 lb., 13 ounces without the tumbler. It has a 36-inch power cord. – Comes with built-in reusable stainless steel coffee filter – Simple operation; press the power switch to turn on the coffee machine and push the Brew button to start brewing – Inner side of the stainless steel tumbler where the coffee is filled is made of stainless steel as well as the outside of the tumbler. No worries about plastic taste being transferred. – Unlike some of the coffee makers I’ve tried (US national brands!), this Krups unit does not give the coffee an obvious plastic odor/taste. — Cons – The coffee from the coffee maker measured was 173F and decreased to 150F after 30 minutes sitting in the tumbler with a lid on. – Does not brew coffee continuously; once you brew one cup, you need to wait for a few minutes (several?) to allow the coffee maker to cool down. – You cannot stop the brewing process once it’s started. – So far there is no information on this coffee machine at krupsusa.com or the Krups Germany website, meaning there are no downloadable manuals available yet. – The stainless steel tumbler, while double-walled, is not insulated, or at least not insulated well. Heat is transferred to the outside of the tumbler making it too hot to comfortably hold, and cooling your coffee quickly. – Taste. My wife didn’t mind the coffee from this machine. I thought it was weak, even after adjusting the grind the second time. I’m not certain, but think the product does impart a mild plastic taste into the coffee. This machine is not for coffee snobs. -Time. This unit takes about 4.5 minutes to brew a large cup of coffee, so it’s not exactly fast. -Power Switch. The unit did not consistently power on each time the power switch was toggled. I have a friend who travels with a coffee machine with her favorite pods, especially when she goes on a cruise ship tour, but pods take a lot of space if you drink a lot of coffee. Even when staying at a hotel room, whenever I use the room-equipped coffee machine, I remember reading news articles saying that some hotel room cleaners utilize the used towels to dry things in the room, so I’m hesitant to use the provided machines and cups. Because the KRUPS KM204D50 Simply Brew To Go Filter Coffee Maker is compact and lightweight, it can be a good travel companion, IF you can figure out how to discard the used coffee grounds easily. It’s not cool to put them down the bathroom sink drain, even if you think that you won’t be caught, as you’ll create extra work for the maintenance crew. Please remember that coffee ground kills vegetation for first few to several months after being dumped out before it starts degrading. You can utilize a fine mesh bag to rinse coffee grounds into, it is common to utilize such bags at kitchen sinks in some countries where garbage disposals are not common. Some people also use a newspaper to dump out the drained garbage and wrap it to throw away in a trash bag. Overall, this is a meh coffee maker for me. If you need a personal coffee maker, and want a reusable filter, and don’t mind waiting, then get this one, but ditch the cheap tumbler that comes with it. I really don’t know why Krups bothered. Overall, I don’t consider this a good value at the current price of $40.32.

    This coffee maker does the job. Others are complaining that the metal cup it comes with is too hot to touch and drips. They are being very dramatic. The cup is not hot. It is warm to touch. It doesn’t even get as hot as a ceramic coffee mug gets when filled with hot coffee. I used it for milk, no leaking. My only complaint with this coffee maker is this little bit of Dripping that happens after the brewing is done. When the coffee is done, you are instructed to turn the power button off and give it a minute or so to finish dripping. I have left my coffee cup there for more than the minute or so.. but it still leaves a small puddle. I just wipe it away with a damp rag. It’s not a huge deal. It doesn’t splatter all over your countertop or anything crazy. I personally, don’t use the metal cup that it comes with because it is not the amount of ounces that I prefer. I use a 16 oz Wawa cup. It fits perfectly. If you have anything bigger than that, it will not fit. Unless the cop you have is short and wide. I have owned this coffee maker a month or so. I make 2 to 4 cups of coffee a day. It has not broken or acted like it was going to break. I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 due to the delay with the dripping. All and all, I like it.     Before ordering, I read some negative reviews, but necessity being the mother of invention, I solved at least one of those problems. I do kitchen composting so it was important to me to be able to transfer used grounds to my compost container easily. I had a supply of the round fluted coffee filters for larger machines and figured out how to cut the size down and use it in this smaller machine. It is not perfect, but it works! A reviewer complained about how hot the Travel Tumbler is to pick up, but I didn’t find that to be a problem. The coffee does come out very hot and stays hot in the tumbler, especially if you close the top if it going to sit on a desk or elsewhere without being consumed. I replaced a Classic Keurig that was taking up way too much room on my countertop and I still cannot find out how to get the water out of the inside of the machine…makes the simplicity of the Krups even more attractive!

La cafetera funciona muy bien pero bastante ruidosita como si un ratón estuviera tratando de escapar de adentro jaja como golpecitos. Pero por el precio la verdad está bonita y funcional.     This coffee maker looks like it was a return. The person that repacked this coffee maker must have been a monkey because there was a cut buy a knife or box cutter across the back of the Box. The plug protector was removed and was rattling around in the bottom of the Box. The manual was bent and damaged and the box retaping job was awful. But except for the fingerprints on the mug, the coffee maker was in good condition. I worked retail for 10 years so I know how these things can happen. I examined the coffee maker closely and found it had not been used, and when I plugged it in, it worked perfectly. If I had been giving this as a gift it would’ve gone right back into the bag and gone back to coffeemakers.us.com, but it is for my personnel use and I’m happy with the product and the way it functions.

    Being that I have almost completely moved from Keurig pods to using my own coffee grounds in the My K-Cup permanent filter, I decide it was time to free up some counter space and go to a single-serve coffee maker. I almost didn’t get this unit because it wouldn’t allow me to use pods from time to time, but I decided to try it anyway and I think I made the right choice. One of the biggest drawbacks of the pod size filters was that I was greatly limited on the amount of coffee I could use. As you can see in the photo, the Krups filter is several times larger than the pod size filter, so I can make my coffee as strong or weak as I want. It takes this coffee maker about 4 minutes to brew a 12-fluid ounce cup and the temperature is set at 178°F (not adjustable). This would be slower than the Keurig if you don’t take heating/re-heating time into account. That said, the actual brew time – the time hot water is in contact with the grounds – is much longer with the Krups, but that seems to produce a smoother tasting coffee that is equal in strength. Another thing I like about this unit is that it is so easy to disassemble and clean. All parts that come in contact with coffee are removable and are easy to wash. Overall, I like this coffee maker a lot and I am pleased to recommend it.
