   I have been using this pour over brewer for the last few weeks and I am really enjoying the coffee it brews. I have several other brew methods, but find myself coming back to this brewer. This brewer set consists of a glass carafe and reusable metal-mesh filter. The filter feels very durable to me. It has two layers, with a very fine mesh inner layer. I was able to dial in the grind size very quickly to get a good brew time. I have found this set is very easy to clean and dry. I like the size for personal use, but it can brew enough coffee for two to three people. Overall, I think this is a great brewer.

   My first impression was the size of the glass itself. It’s quite tall but sturdy enough not to tip over. The glass feels a little thinner than my other coffee makers, but seems like with some care, it won’t break. The filter is really good. The mesh seems pretty small, in regards to the filtration. It catches just about everything. It’s easy to clean and made quite well. We’ll see if it last longer than I think it will.

   This glass carafe and reusable filter combo are very well-made. You will need a brush to clean the inside of the carafe if you do not have small hands, so keep that in mind when considering it. The filter may also require a finer ground that you are used to buying to properly brew the coffee, though this is something you will have to learn through trial and error. Similarly, you may need to adjust how quickly you pour the water into the filter for best results. The glass carafe itself is lovely and would be amazing for blooming tea. It loses heat quickly, so make sure you only brew as much as would be consumed immediately unless you’re fine with cold coffee or microwaving to restore the heat. I admit I used my current coffee maker to heat the water rather than working with boiling water when testing the carafe, but it didn’t seem to have any issue with this, and the coffee was still fine. The reusable filter is likely the best filter in the home for coffee, and I’m including the paper ones in that assessment. It works well and is easy to clean. I do not recommend this for novices to coffee-making. If you’re looking for easy coffee brew options, there are better ones for the price point. Will it taste as good? I don’t know, but this carafe requires extra work before you reach the “easy-pour” part. Still, it is a lovely glass carafe with an excellent filter for those who see coffee more as an art than a functional necessity. The carafe would also work well for tea, and the large base of the carafe would be perfect for viewing blooming teas unfold.

   This review is for the Escali London Sip Glass Pour Over Coffee Carafe. So, I am certainly not a coffee expert, but my husband is. I initially ordered this for him since he enjoys drinking French press coffee, but he has been so busy at work that I decided to give this a try myself. Although this takes a little more time to make coffee with, I really think it’s worth it. I found that the coffee has more flavor to it when I use this pour over method. I guess it’s because it takes longer to brew than the traditional drip method. I also like the way this carafe looks, probably because I am a pharmacist, and it reminds me of the pharmaceutics lab. 🙂 I must say though that the glass is nice and thick, unlike the cheaper glass version that my husband purchased before. This is definitely a high quality product. I also like how well the spout pours the coffee out. I can’t tell you how many glass measuring cups I have tossed because they splatter the liquid out when you’re trying to pour it. Overall, I am happy with this purchase and recommend it to anyone who is trying to purchase a pour over coffee carafe.

   I’m new to making pour over coffee, and I appreciate it how this had everything that I needed. The filter was nice and easy to clean. I appreciated how the carafe had a cup indicator marks on the side. There were instructions on the front of the box as well as in the box. For someone who loves the smell of coffee, the pour over is great because you really get to smell the grounds. I still need to work on getting the ratio right but I like how this set had all the supplies.

   I’ve been extremely nervous using this just because of how thin the glass is. It’s super, super thin. I cannot stress just how thin this thing is. If you’re not absolutely careful, you will shatter this thing into shards. I think it’s a really pretty display piece. I don’t know if I would ever use it. I would be too scared i think it would break on me

    I have been eagerly waiting for my London Sip! I am a devout coffee drinker! It can be 90% out and I still want my hot coffee😂 I’m using a French Press right now and LOVE how my coffee tastes. Admittedly, I bounce around every few months… I’ll go to my favorite barista for a few months, then I’ll use my Keurig, then a percolator, my French press and now the London Sip. I’ve heard wonderful reviews about pour over coffee so I was beside myself. I can see what others mean – the glass being thin- but I’m not paying attention to that as this is my experience for my review. To me, everything tastes better in a glass container! Beer, pop, tea, wine and coffee:) I love the look and feel of the carafe. It’s very simple & beautifully minimalistic… I dig this look a lot. I have a beautiful black and stainless stove/oven and my stove has a glass top you cook on… As long as I’m careful and follow directions the London Sip will be perfect… It makes a wonderful cup of coffee and it’s so aromatic! That is one of the huge differences than from all the other ways to make coffee and it’s psychological too… the smell makes you want it more… it’s enticing. The coffee in the carafe adds a touch of sophistication & class. It looks very nice on our morning breakfast nook or a quick late night cup standing at the stove😂 Even though the glass feels thin- I’ve had no issues and the London Sip works beautifully and tastes awesome so I’m trusting the special glass to do what it does and I’ll take care of it on my end and be gentle and together we’ll continue to make coffee like a rockstar!!😂 I love the London Sip and if you love coffee you’ve got to try it too.

    Pretty darn good! We did a taste test between smaller size fellow carafe w/ paper filter pour over, same coffee same grind size same water temp etc and they both actually tasted ever so slightly different! This had a slight upper hand for us both- for my more coffee expert partner he thought this brew tasted slightly sweeter. My main discernment was the other tasted slightly less complex and more vaguely cardboard-y. So this gets 5 star on that alone. TBA on how it holds up in the future. If we had to nitpick, there’s some ergonomic areas to improve- like the curved thick tube shape handle was less stable to hold than the fellow carafe which is flat. Also the pour spout pours a bit harder on this one. They are different, fellow spout doesn’t dip down (just 1 uniform level top including spout) and this one does.

    I think the design of this carafe is pretty good, I do like the handle and was excited about the prospect of enjoying coffee with a reusable stainless steel filter. When I opened the package, the reusable filter turned out to have some rust in it and I tried to clean it off best I could but it would not come off. Nevertheless I made coffee and and I feel the rust did not impact the coffee that much. It is a concern though, how long would it last before rusting? I was hoping for a durable coffee maker but I have questions about the product’s quality control. While the coffee is good and the design of the handle is great, hopefully the manufacturer addresses the rust so future customers are not impacted.

    I love coffee. I have tried every single way to make the best cup of coffee and I would say pour over coffee is one of the best ways to brew a good cup of coffee. The carafe is made of high-quality borosilicate glass and the stainless steel filter is perfect. The holes are small enough to contain the coffee grinds yet the water flows through easily.     I really enjoy coffee and have tried many different types including french press but never pour-over. This carafe and stainless filter is minimalist in design and so clean and elegant looking. Most importantly, this makes a beautiful cup of coffee as this pour over method allows for the coffee to bloom for the perfect taste and aroma. There is a learning curve to getting the perfect brew, but there is no such thing as a bad cup of coffee if you use good coffee to start with and measure out the grounds accordingly. I researched a little about how to add the hot water, like a barista, and look forward to practicing and practicing!

    My friend loves using pour over to make coffee so I thought I’d try it too. I didn’t need a large carafe so I got this 4 cup version, which is a good size for 1-3 large cups of coffee. The filter has a really fine filter and fits nicely on top of the carafe. I’m a bit concerned about the glass carafe since the glass seems a bit thin and may break of dropped or knocked on things. Nevertheless it hasn’t broken yet. The instructions that came with it is a bit thin. I was able to make pretty good tasting coffee with the method of pre-heating the filter and carafe with hot water, then pouring in the needed amount of hot water over the coffee grounds. The straining seems a bit fast, so I may try using a paper filter to experiment a bit. Cleanup is not difficult but need to wash out the strainer after each use, to remove the soot and any oils that came out of the coffee. The price for the coffee maker is reasonable for the size and quality of the set.

    First let me say that I love the design and especially love the built in filter that comes with it. With that said even if you treat this like a fabergé egg the glass is so think that is likely to fracture from what I can only guess is the heat change. I’ve had the carafe for under a month and noticed today that the glass sounded like it had separated somewhere. On closer inspection I noticed a fracture where the bottom of the handle connects to the carafe. It hasn’t been dropped or even put down hard. Having read reviews before purchasing I treated this thing like even the slightest bump would send it into a million pieces. Despite that, just from normal use the handle still broke… 2 stars for the filter. -3 for less than a months use before having a glass issue.

    This is a great way to brew a nice cup of coffee. I say a cup of coffee as I tend to brew about 500 ml of coffee as a single serving. That is a pretty good sized cup though. if you want teacup sized brew this will do you 4 cups. It is made from a nice light durable borosilicate glass. it should work for decades as long as its not dropped or hit hard. The included filter is nice and easy to clean, just add 35g your medium-fine grounds, pour over 600mL 85C water and let it brew/filter down the water. it takes a bit as things siphon down and you add more water but 3-4 min and with good control yields 600 mL of coffee. Since the grounds are separate unlike a french press you can just remove the funnel and it will not get stronger and more bitter over time. No trash in the end, just some easy to compost coffee grounds and a washable filter. I am also a Gardner so I do my own compost pile and the grounds go straight into there.

    I recently buy this pour over coffee carafe for making morning coffee and it great. Here my thoughts: Pros: Glass material durable and resist heat well. Reusable stainless steel filter good for environment, no need paper filters. Measurement on side helpful for making right amount of coffee. Handle comfortable to hold, keep hand away from heat. Cons: Need to be careful when cleaning, glass can break. Pouring spout good but need practice for precision pouring. Overall, I enjoy using this coffee carafe. It make tasty coffee and easy to use.     This is a nice set that works well and makes up to 8 cups which is great for a large family or for parties. The reusable filter is nice and eco friendly however the overlap part has a tiny gap that I’m worried coffee grounds can get stuck in. It is very easy to clean. The glass carafe has markings on it that show volume and number of cups which is great and I use it to hold water when I’m not using it for coffee. The handle is thick and easy to hold, also feels sturdy. Overall a nice set but I would prefer a smaller alternative around 4 cups size.
