   Love the color and size of this single cup coffee maker. I also liked that there were 2 inserts for either coffee grounds (mesh lining) and one to hold single serve coffee pods. There is a cord hole in the back to store the plug when not in use, and a water tank in the back that holds up to 12oz. Here’s what I didn’t like-the main power button located at the front of the machine is both for power and for brewing, so you must hit that button to turn it on and again to brew which shuts it off again if you press too long. Second, there is no selection of cup size, so whatever you put into that tank is what is going to come out. I prefer to have the option of what size cup I’d like to brew, especially since the cup holder on this is so small. I initially filled the tank and used a mug, not realizing there was no way to stop when it was full. Lastly, the amount of steam this produces when brewing is significant enough to get condensation everywhere. My cup of coffee was fine, and overall this is a functional device that is cute and compact. For those reasons, I gave it 3 stars.

   This coffee maker reminds me of something you would find in a hotel room but a little better. It is light and ready to go out of the box. Has a water reservoir in the back. It has two coffee filters included with it. It only holds 12 oz of water so great for the bachelor or occasional one cup coffee person. Overall it seems like it is built well and would be good for a secondary coffee maker or someone who only needs one cup

   I was SICK of replacing broken Keurigs, so thought I’d try this brand. Less expensive – check! But, it doesn’t seem to make very HOT coffee, and I like it hot. It’s good for making quick one cup. My favorite coffee maker has a steel coffee pot and bottom “burner” to keep it hot. That’s my only complaint – my roommate bought a pink one (mine’s white) so now we have 2. Kick the Keurigs out, and join us in the Mecity crew!

   This coffee maker is very simple, and perfect for making a quick single cup of coffee. There aren’t any features, however it does come with inserts for k-cups, and for ground coffee. I tested it with ground coffee and it worked ok. I did notice the lack of flavor compared to making the same coffee in my Ninja. Using actual k-cups, it is more similar to other k-cup machines. I am just not a huge fan of the plastic k-cup taste, or how much they cost. This is also a very portable coffee maker and it’s easy to travel with. It does require filling it with water for each use, but that isn’t an issue for me. For a simple single cup coffee maker, this does a very good job!

    After a couple weeks, it exploded. I’d just save your money. It worked perfectly the first month, but it exploded out of no where today. I’ve been using it the same since I’ve purchased it. I used the same K-cup attachment, the same k-cups, and up to the same water line each time (never going over the max). Wish I could get my money back! Save your money and just get the Keurig! I’ll have to buy one anyways after this..

    This petite coffeemaker has turned out to be the perfect morning remedy for our daughter in her tiny college dormitory. With kitchen counter space at a premium, she has been looking for a source for morning java that doesn’t take up a large counter footprint. We weren’t familiar with the Mecity brand but with the listed features, compact size and sleek basic black appearance, we figured it was worth a try. As an added benefit, it matched the black, white and silver kitchen décor in my daughter’s dorm. The appliance works with both K-cups and ground coffee which makes it very versatile for college kids who like to try specialty brands and boutique flavors. It’s also a very efficient hot water dispenser for teas. All reports from the dorm confirm that the coffees and teas have been full flavored and delicious. At only 11 inches tall, less than 10 inches deep and less than 5 inches wide, this can fit snugly on just about any size kitchen countertop or even on a desk top if you want to have a cuppa on hand when you’re working or studying. Operation is a one-touch breeze using nothing more than the front button and either inserting a K-cup or grounds. The unit features 2-minute brewing which is great for those early mornings when you need a quick pick me up punch of caffeine. It has easy to follow instructions so you’re downing your coffee or tea in no time flat. It’s easy clean up, too, especially when you are using coffee grounds because the Mecity grounds holder uses an inner shell to hold the grounds in place within the outer capsule – nothing goes splashing around and all the used grounds stay in the shell instead of staining the inside of the brewing chamber. Every automatic coffee maker gets funky after awhile so you’ll have to clean it out. You can easily descale simply by pressing and then holding the power button for three seconds. The machine will automatically descale until the process is complete or until it runs out of water. You should repeat this process at least three times to make sure the system is clean and then you won’t have any aftertaste or lingering odors. Speaking of running out of water, the one minor defect of the machine is that the water well only holds 12 ounces of it. Of course, the small size of the unit pretty much dictates this, so I’d suggest – as my daughter does – to keep a water bottle full and handy for quick refills on those days when two or three cups just don’t wake you up. Overall, my daughter and her roommate report that the machine is a neat little no frills coffee maker. It’s a few steps up from the nicer hotel models but nothing really fancy. It’s functional and flavorful.

    Overall this isn’t the worst but I did have some issues. First off, it has a removable adapter for either a k cup or ground coffee. I thought that was great because you can rinse it after every use. I didn’t realize it would leak under the removable part as you can see in the picture. (This was one use of hot chocolate.) You have to rinse it every time or it gets gross. The machine is also kind of loud. I decided to return it, which I had no issues doing.

    This coffee maker sucks so bad. It doesnt heat up much and yes i left it on for about 5 minutes first. It never turns off on its own and youd think that pressing the on/OFF button would turn it off but it doesnt it just stays on. This is one of the worst products ive ever bought. It looks nice and simple but its the opposite. I wasted like 7 pods tryng to get this machine to make it right.

    This was very easy to use and perfect for single person use. It’s small enough for an apartment or your work desk. You can use a kcup or coffee grounds in here. The things I didn’t like about it were that it is very noisy, very slow, and will only fit a coffee cup and not my small coffee tumbler that I like to use with my keurig machine. But it works great.     I chose it because the color scheme for the items on my desk is pink. Best decision I made buying a one cup. I’ve saved a lot of money buying it and it works well and is just the right size and cute color. My only complaint is that it leaks when it’s brewing. At first I thought it was something I did wrong but you can’t over fill it. It only started doing that after a few uses. Overall it’s worth it.

    The MECITY Coffee Maker arrived in a simple yet nicely designed box, albeit in Pink, which wasn’t my first choice. Nevertheless, the color is pleasant and would appeal to those who like pink. Having owning a Keurig Mini, I find the MECITY quite comparable. It brews a standard single cup of coffee and is compact and lightweight, making it ideal for camping with access to an outlet. The operation is similar to the Keurig, featuring a front compartment for filters. I appreciate that it includes two filter holders—one for coffee grounds or tea, and another for standard K-cups. Despite owning a Keurig, I prefer using ground coffee for a fresher taste. The coffee ground filter that came with the MECITY works well, with a fine enough mesh to prevent grounds from escaping. Typically, I use medium to coarse-ground coffee, so I’m not sure how well it would handle finer grounds. I haven’t bought K-cups recently, so I haven’t tested the K-cup filter, but based on other reviews mentioning leaks, the two-piece design of the filter housing could be the issue. During brewing, I haven’t encountered any problems—it performs as expected. Like my Keurig, it has a rear reservoir that needs to be topped up before brewing and holds a maximum of 12oz of water. Cleaning involves taking the entire unit to the sink since the reservoir isn’t removable. The cup receptacle is somewhat small but fits most standard coffee cups, though taller 12oz tumblers might be a tight fit. Removing the drip tray provides some additional space. There’s a descaling mode and warning, although I haven’t needed to use it yet, as it’s recommended after 500 brews. It’s advisable to review the manual for maintenance tips, like cleaning the exit and entrance needles, to keep the coffee maker in top shape. Overall, the MECITY Coffee Maker is a great little machine that has performed well for me. While the K-Mini feels slightly better built with higher-quality materials, it comes at a premium price. The MECITY includes all the filters needed to start brewing on day one, which is definitely a plus. While a different color would have been preferable, I won’t let that affect its rating.
