This is a great drip coffee maker and I’m so RELIEVED this one is working. I’ve owned a lot of drip makers and each one the coffee has been terrible. Melitta is a German company and the design of the coffee maker is really nice and sleek. The coffee will only be so hot for so long, keep in mind that the plate the stainless steel pot sits on is plastic and does NOT heat up. So the coffee is being kept warm within the stainless pot only. If you need super scorching hot coffee for 2 hours, good luck finding a maker that gives you that – or just stick it in the microwave for 30 seconds. I actually prefer the coffee is not sitting on a heated plate because it just burns it and ruins the flavor. I also like how the top of maker opens by a push of a button and it’s all open in there – so it’s easy to air out and wipe down if you need to. I leave the lid open after brewing so everything can dry and air out. The look of the maker is super nice too. I got the white and it’s just a really attractive looking design sitting on the kitchen counter. Coffee is tasting smooth too, I’m not getting any of that bitter weird taste. I am using really good quality ground coffee but with prior makers, that made no difference. With this machine I really am happy overall. Thank you Melitta for a great product.

Wanted a Medium Size Carafe & thought this looked fine. Absolutely a great choice! Easy Set-up. The Maker has light to say it needs Cleaned. That’s simple for good tasting coffee, nice feature. Ordered extra Filters, just in case, LOL, Girl Scout Moment, they are on a grocery store shelf!

Pros: The coffee brews well with heavenly aroma and great taste. Also stays hot in the stainless carafe for hours after brewing. Cons: The inside of the carafe seems to stain easily and it’s tough to try and remove the inevitable coffee residue. Also, there is no beep or signal when the coffee has finished perking….shouldn’t be a big deal I know, but it’s a little weird. Also have to click the hour and minute buttons before each use (if unplugging between uses) or else the “on” button won’t work. Again, not a big deal but a little weird. Going back to a tempered glass carafe after all.
