I travel extensively with my job, both in Europe and USA. it always surprises me just how poor tea and coffee making provision is. Now, I have to confess, I’m not a morning kind of guy and need a serious, European style strong, large coffee to get things working in the morning. This MIRA coffee pot is the perfect size, 20 fluid oz ( for you ‘Mericans) or 600 ml ( for us “rest of the World ” people). In case you are wondering, this is a seriously large cup. The MIRA is, frankly, pretty bomb proof. Solidly made, and all Stainless steel construction, so very easy to rinse and clean. it is small enough to fit, even in carry on luggage. It comes with three spare stainless steel plunger filters and keeps the coffee really hot whilst you make the coffee then shower and get yourself mobile in the morning. Should you want to, you can even make noodle meals in it ( those who travel loads and arrive at the hotel after the restaurant has closed will understand this). Quality piece of kit. I will not be leaving to travel without it. Awesome.

Love the insulated, smaller capacity than needed for two people but slightly more than one cup. Sturdy. Easy to clean

This is my first French press and it works great using a coarse grind. I never thought of myself (still don’t) as a coffee aficionado, but I like the mouth feel of the pressed coffee versus my drip maker. I took one star off of Easy to Clean because it takes a bit more effort than a pot with a paper filter, but that is the nature of the press. I’m not complaining. This is a 17 oz. press, so I can make one 8- or 10-oz. cup at a time, not two as I was anticipating, but that is not the fault of the press. I like the design a whole lot; mine is the color blue. It’s nice to have this morning ritual, a calming and focused few minutes.

I really like this coffee press. 20 ounces is just the right size for me. 34 was too big and 16 too small. I’ve had several glass presses over the years and while they are fine, traveling was always an issue. I have eventually broken them all. Mostly this happens when I shake out the grounds over the trash can and accidentally hit it on the side of the can. This one I can throw in my suitcase and don’t have to worry about it breaking. It is all stainless and keeps the coffee warmer for longer which is an advantage over single wall glass imo. As far as having multiple filters, I’m not anal about having some residue in the bottom of my cup. It actually filters more finely than my previous Bodum press which also had one filter. So far, I really like it. The spout also works well and the handle is easy to hold.

I love that this French press is not glass, as I am a bit of a klutz. Lol

Purchased this french press to bring on a trip to Mexico but it’s since turned into my every day coffee maker even when I’m not traveling! I like the sleek, modern design. It’s very sturdy and easy to clean. I originally purchased the 12 Oz press but found that to be much too small so exchanged it for the 20 Oz and I’m so glad I did! It’s large enough for making 2 cups of coffee yet still small enough to pack easily in a suitcase/store in a cupboard. Buy this press!!

Mira should never have painted these. Nothing wrong with the construction and the ability to make great coffee. Even comes with spare strainers.

I bought this as a wedding gift. When it arrived, the packaging literally looked like it had been given a good kicking. This hasn’t happened in transit as there were actually bits ripped off the box. The pics don’t really show how bad it is. I can’t possibly give this as a gift. Even the instructions etc are all crumpled. I have definitely been sent a return. Also the colour is more turquoise than blue. I’m extremely disappointed.

This is a very good french press made of food grade stainless steel. I’m quite happy with the quality of the coffee it makes. I didn’t detect any metallic taste. The filter on it is the standard, single, stainless steel screen. It came with 3 replacement screens, which is a nice touch. Like other french presses I’ve used, it leaves a little fine sediment (aka “sludge”) in the bottom of the mug. Maybe that’s caused by the way I grind the coffee. I don’t have a fancy burr grinder.
The size is advertised as 20 oz. You can’t actually make 20 oz of coffee with it. I think the maximum you could make without spilling coffee grounds out of the spout is about 18 oz. It’s enough for my large morning mug of coffee.
What made me take off one star is that this press is not especially well insulated. It’s clearly not vacuum insulated. It will keep coffee hot longer than a glass french press, but an hour later it’s going to be cold. I’m ok with that. I just want to drink the first half very slowly and then pour the rest of it.
