   I’ve bought multiple french presses in my lifetime and this is by far the most sturdy one. The glass is thick enough that it won’t break easily – worth the price. I’m moving and my roommate loves mine so much she’s getting one for herself when I leave.

   If are just getting started with homemade French press coffee this is a fair starter for the price under $14. The glass is thinner than some French presses I’ve seen, and after a month I really thought I would have broken this by now but I haven’t. I hand wash mine everyday for over a month and so far no accidents. Most French presses are going to give you the same tasting brew because they are all very similar in design. The differences largely being in design of carafe, ease of dis-assembly for cleaning and the durability of the components. As stated previously the glass is a little thin, but it’s very easy to disassemble for cleaning.
   If you are new to this method count on adding another 10 minutes to your coffee brewing and clean up process. The French press method requires you to pay attention to water temperature and how long you let the grounds stay in with the brew. Too long of time or too hot of water can make your coffee very bitter. I have found leaving my second cup of coffee in the carafe while drinking my first cup a bitter experience.
   If you are regular French press drinker, you may want to look at a press with heavier glass. Other than that this is a good press when the price is right.

   This coffee press is a replacement for one I accidentally broke. It replaced a much more expensive unit that did not perform as well, required coarse ground coffee and left grinds in the bottom of the cup. With this coffee press I use fine ground coffee with no problem. The screen assembly also loosens allowing for easy cleaning.
