   This coffee pot is perfect for those of us with small households. I want to remind everyone that if you are like me, I drink from coffee mugs which are not the same as CUPS (do they even make 1 cup coffee cups anymore???). Having said that, my regular coffee mug holds the equivalent of just under two cups from the coffee maker (when making coffee just for me, I first fill the mug with the water and transfer it to the water chamber in the pot; filled to the top of the mug as I take my coffee black). I love the warmer feature (2 hours) when making more coffee and the fact that the coffee maker shuts itself off after two hours. Great little pot for the price.

   I have been using pod coffee makers for many years. Good coffee, but expensive, and instantaneous coffee making had me building a six cup a day habit. $22 for a bulk carton of pods, a 2 week supply, was costly and not great for my blood pressure. I purchased the Mr. Coffee Programmable Coffee Maker to make coffee a more deliberate task, and to reduce cost. It takes approx 5 minutes to brew coffee with the Mr. Coffee unit. So, I start coffee while cooking breakfast. The $22 box of pods has been replaced with an $8 – $10 bag of good ground coffee. Consumption has been reduced to 2 cups a day, about what one carafe holds. The $22 box of pods lasted two weeks, the $10 bag last for a month. The flavor and strength of coffee is excellent. The permanent filter slows water flow through the coffee for a more uniform brew, and keep grounds out of a cup. The charcoal filter works well for removing suspended particles from well water. I plan on trying paper filters, in place of the permanent metal and charcoal filters, to see how they effect taste. Paper filters do a better job of removing lipids from brewed coffee, oils that can elevate LDL cholesterol. I like it. Edit: reduced one star, because I have been unable to locate replacement 2″ charcoal water filters. Universal fit Mr. Coffee filters are twice the size and do not work. Also unable to get assistance on this issue though company’s customer service.

   We have used one of these for years and appreciate the “auto off” feature since I am absent minded. When looking for a coffee maker for a vacation/rental property that is often unoccupied, we considered the auto-off feature critical. Oddly difficult to find unbleached paper filters that fit properly (7″ dia, wide bottom basket filter). Most of those found on coffeemakers.us.com have a more narrow bottom, but can be used in a pinch by forcing them to fit the contours of the basket. The larger 8-12 cup (8″ dia) filters can also be used, but are a nuisance.

   Voy a usarla 6 días a la semana vamos a ver que tal funciona y seguiré comentando en el proceso, como dato importante el filtro de agua que es la el que se pone arriba del filtro del café, se tiene que cambiar 1 vez por mes o bien cuando cuentes 30 filtraciones, esto optimiza el uso y mantiene libre los minerales del agua al mecanismo de nuestra cafetera; espero les sirva mi comentario!! 🙂

   My coffee pot came with the water filtration disk but to be compatible the bottom of your filter basket should have the WF symbol and mine does not as you can see in my video. So be careful about that. The coffee maker works fine but it’s just not WF compatible. I do like that it is easy to program for future brewing and the pause effect while brewing is quite nice as well.

   I have had this coffee maker since 2001 and it refuses to quit. It makes a solid 5 cups of coffee, either instantly or scheduled. There is a reusable filter and it is easy to clean out. It is small, simple, and compact. I have used it camping, RVing, or brought it along to events just in case brew was needed.

   Hey coffeemakers.us.comians l bought this new coffee maker because I chipped my old one, l found it at a thrift store for $12 it to was a 5 cup coffee maker but it was used and the only function was to heat water and dispense it over coffee grounds this bad boy has all the bells 🔔 and whistles and for less than $25? Omgoodness it works better than advertised I love ❤️ it and highly recommend this!!!

   The seller is listed from UK and said item delivered from the UK however is actually delivered from USA So had to also buy and adopter.

   Used twice and broke. Set it up to brew in the morning woke up to only half a cup. Cleaned everything and tried again but just wouldn’t work.

   Seller tried to get ME TO PAY to send it back to USA. however after a few emails back and forth the did issue a full refund but didn’t arrange for the item to be collect so it’s now binned.

   One of the reasons I purchased this Mr. Coffee maker model was it included the carbon-based water filtration system that during the brewing process helps remove up to 97% of the chlorine from the water and improves the taste of your coffee. I had this on the 12-cup model I was replacing and wanted to continue having this feature. You rinse this replaceable filter daily, and replace it monthly or after 50 pots of coffee. Imagine my surprise and dismay when I tried to buy replacement filters that they had been discontinued! What? I buy a new unit and an important feature is unusable? 2. It does not have a setting to choose the strength of your coffee between regular or strong. I would be perfectly happy with this unit if it wasn’t for these two issues. It has a Reusable Filter, ability to Brew Now or Brew Later, Grab a Cup auto pause, & a 2 hr shut off. I have included a photo to show the filter size difference between the 5-cup model and the 12-cup model. You can buy packages of the filters here on coffeemakers.us.com that says “it fits all models” but that is not correct as it does not fit the 5-cup model.

    Bought this to replace my ancient 4 cup brewer. Looks good & good size for 1 or 2 people (pic 1). It comes with a filter basket but I use small size paper filters & run a little water to keep sides from flopping over. Both the supplied filter basket & the regular basket come out for easy cleaning. I didn’t have problem with swing arm knocking over filter paper (pic 2). I poured in exactly 5 cups as measured by the pot & got out exactly 5 cups (pic 3). The autopause worked as its intended. Only 2-3 drops of liquid when I removed pot in the middle of the brew. The delayed brew worked as it should. Just remember to push the “delay” button then WAIT for the clock to blink before setting the delay time. I was too quick & just reset the clock function instead of setting the delay time. It made some gurgling noise during brewing but nothing loud or unexpected. Lastly – pic 4 shows a few plastic pieces that fell out of the box when I took everything out. Don’t know where they came from or if they belonged to anything in the brewer but it works perfectly & nothing leaks. Hopefully it will last as long as my old brewer.

    The included re-usable filter doesn’t allow the coffee to flow through it quickly enough and overflows coffee grounds onto the top of the pot, and into the coffee itself. Having it be cylindrical and have a solid flat bottom was just a bad design move. Other cheap 5-cup drip coffee makers have a cone shaped filter with a much smaller flat bottom to maximize liquid flow through the sieve surfaces. I had to buy 5 cup paper filters and they’re too tall, and have to bend so the water spout can extend over the grounds. Otherwise we have to make only a few cups when using the included filter instead of the 4 (not even 5!) cups we typically make.

    I have never had my own coffee pot that I officially purchased. I’ve always used whoever’s, or accepted a hand-me-down, when someone else upgrades…so this was a treat for me! I tell you what… it is PERFECT! Compact, easy to set the clock and brew later time (I didn’t even need directions), and being able to wake up to freshly brewed coffee!     This is a great little coffee-maker for the price. When filled with water to the 4 cup line on the carafe… and add 2 coffee scoops of coffee grounds, this coffee-maker brews two full mugs of coffee. I find it a great size for two people who only want a single cup (mug) of coffee each at a time. The coffee is hot after brewing and remains hot. Although it comes with a re-useable mesh filter (which I find a little messy to clean), I purchased a pack of paper filters (1-4) at the grocery store for about $2 and they fit great. This model also has a timer which works well.

    Really pleased with this purchase. I had a 12 cup coffeemaker and no longer needed that size; I was making only 5 cups with that one. Decided to look for smaller one, takes up less counter space, easy to clean and saw this one, Mr. coffee brand has been around a long time . I chose the one with a clock only because this one will auto off after 2 hours. As an older person, safer to have the auto off feature just in case. It works great, so easy to clean. I make the coffee at night so it’s ready to just press the “brew now” button in the morning. Didn’t need the pre-program as I said, but wanted the auto off feature which is safer for anyone at any age. Makes great coffee. For the filter, I press it down snugly in the container so it fits exactly right. One thing I noticed too is after adding the water and coffee, when I close the lid, the handle that runs the hot water over the coffee grinds moves over to the correct position. This coffeemaker is very well designed, easy to use, and makes a really good cup of coffee. If you need a smaller one, this is the one to try. I highly recommend and I’m really happy I chose this one.

    The perfect coffee maker for a one to two person household. I love the Brew Later feature. I set it for 4:45 am and my coffee is ready and waiting for me. I love the reusable filter too. It is very easy to setup the clock and the Brew Later feature. The Brew Now feature is great for on demand. Its speed of brewing is fine in my opinion because this is brew coffee. The temp is fine but I do like my coffee super hot so I have always heated it further in the microwave. No concerns with the taste of the coffee either. The coffee pot handle feels substantial. Really pleased.

    For a full pot in my previous Mr. Coffee unit of this same size, I always used 3 scoops (tbsp) of grounds. The coffee was perfect. If I put 3 scoops in the “permanent filter” of this unit, it overflows during the brew. The overflow carries grounds into the filter basket, and straight into the pot. If I don’t waste the last of the pot, I get a mouthful of coffee grounds in my final swig. Yum. I’ve taken to using paper filters instead, but they don’t really fit very well. I use the permanent filter as a form to press a paper filter neatly into the filter basket. Even then, the water arm catches on the paper filter, so you have to swing it into place by hand, and push the filter back into place after the arm is in place. (See photo) But hey, after that hassle every time you brew, the coffee is terrific! And it’s possible that everything would be ducky if one were to use two, not three, scoops to make a pot. But dammit Jim, a man’s gotta have standards! P.S.: I’m fortunate to have world-class water where I live, because that goofy water purifier thingy is a bad joke. When, out of curiosity, I tested it (with the permanent filter of course), coffee saturated—and seriously stained—the pad on the first run; reusing it even once would be unappealing.

I have been using Mr. Coffee Machines for over 30 years because they have always fit my needs. This beauty is no different. It’s small and light weight, but has a programmable feature. And yes, it has a clock! (Bonus!!) Great machine. The reason I didn’t give it five stars is because it’s a bit pricey for such a small machine. But, if it lasts as long as my others, then it’s worth five stars. We shall see.

    I had an older model which I loved but I accidentally dropped the carafe and it broke. I couldn’t find a replacement, so had to order a new one or pay twice as much for the original one. Anywho, I purchased this one which basically had all of the same basic features. I have a couple of issues though. I do not care for the lid opening on the side, instead of front to back, but this is just a preference thing. If you pour with your left hand though, it will be pretty inconvenient for you because it opens right to left. The second thing is that regardless of the order that I take the used coffee grounds out (I use my own filters) and pour the water into the pot, water always drips onto the burner from the dispenser part. I never had this issue with the old one but it’s annoying that I have to wipe it off every time before I use it again. It might seem small but I’m trying to avoid starting a new pot with water sizzling while it’s brewing. The last thing is that, while I didn’t think I’d mind, the piece that dispurses the water onto the coffee grounds needs to be moved back and forth when removing the grounds. My old one was built into the lid. I wouldn’t care so much but I still am using the rest of my old filters which are too tall, even though the number of cups/size of pot is the same as the old one. These may all seem small, but I think worth noting for those considering the purchase.

    7 months in as my daily driver. Super easy to descale, simple to clean, and still running as well as it did day 1. It makes what you expect from a cheap drip machine, which should please anyone not looking for a cup before work. Brews up a full pot in about 8 minutes, and the timer hasn’t failed to have hot coffee waiting on me when I wake up. -1 star for a few points, though. #1, the filter is totally useless. Take it off immediately and you’ll have no issues if you use filtered water and descale once a month. #2, The pot is not what was pictured. You don’t get the Oz measurements. Not a problem really. Just multiply the number by 5 if you need oz. I like to get what I’m told I’ll be getting though. See pic and compare. #3, the grind cup just isn’t deep enough for 5 cups. It’ll brew just fine but you’ll end up with a lot of grind splashing out and the dripper getting covered in grind. I shoot for 3-4 and I don’t have this problem. Honest 4.5, but we can’t do that. Its a good value for the money, and a nice and straightforward product which is what I wanted in my coffee pot.

    I just got mine today and tested it, no leaks, everything included, not damaged. Easy to program. Auto off in two hours on this model. Will work great for hot water or brewing tea or coffee. I have not tried it with the water filter part yet; the holder for the water filter has letters on it for Month, so you can know when to replace it with a new filter. Says for soft water replace every 80 uses for hard water every 60 uses. I use filtered water anyway so probably will not buy the cute little filters after I use this one. Instruction manual online says to clean use 4 cups white vinegar and brew with all parts except water filter; then run two cycles of only water after the vinegar brew. It also said to let it sit in the carafe for 20min (then run two cycles of only water).

    This replaced another small Mr Coffee I purchased a few years ago, that finally died. What I specifically liked about the last one was the size, 5 cups, and the delay brew feature, for a reasonable price. I scored the last one on a Black Friday deal, only $20. This one seems decent, but I’m less a fan of the side hinge top and the water spout inside swinging forward and back. The previous design, with the water attached to the lid was far better. It will do for now, but I wish my previous one hadn’t broken. UPDATE: I am far less a fan of this machine. The last version could use larger filters 8-12 cup style even though it was a 5 cup machine, so it was easy to find the unbleached natural style. The cup in this is tiny and really needs 5 cup specific filters but they are difficult to find if you want them unbleached, even on coffeemakers.us.com. The machine comes with a reusable cup and silly water filter, which will never really dry if used daily. These two are horrible, and any time I make 5 cups of coffee the grounds flow over the edges. (Note: I added a bit of spice to my coffee when making the brew in the picture which is why the grounds look like brown and weird). Anyway, the side hinge too is really undesirable. I am now actively looking to replace this machine. It is very disappointing.

    Great 5 CUPS, small and compact, coffee maker with EXCELLENT AUTO SHUT OFF (not found on many small coffee makers; don’t burn the kitchen down)!!! Nice carafe, ez to put coffee in (arm automatically swings back in place to DRIP, when close top (after adding coffee). It could not be any better, and I have owned plenty!

    So this cute little coffee maker works fine, but the small replacement water filter disc are NOT available. All of the discs available are about 3 inches diameter; the one that comes with the machine is about 2 inches only. Kind of stupid to provide a filter that is supposed to be replaced monthly and not sell replacements! You can buy the whole assembly + frame for Mr Coffee to get a new disc but that will set you back about $6, not very cost effective. But fear not! You can use the standard “Fits All Mr Coffee Brewers” discs since the diameter of the frame for the small disc is roughly the same diameter as the whole standard replacement disc. Just pop the big disc in where the frame goes and discard the black frame. It doesn’t snap in or anything, just sits there loose but it really can’t go anywhere. And the big 3ish inch discs are readily available and cheap. Or don’t use a disc at all you’d also be fine!

    There are two types of basket paper coffee filters – 4-6 cup and 8-12 cup. This is a 5 cup coffee maker so initially I used the 4-6 cup. Unfortunately the water with grounds would seep over the top and they would get into the pot. I should mention that I fill the carafe to the very top so I get an actual 5 cups of coffee and although the grounds get into the pot no coffee spills onto the counter. I had some 8-12 cup filters so I compared their diameter to the 4-6 cup filters. I found they are only slightly larger: 8 inches for the 8-12 cup and 7 inches for the 4-6 cup. I put the larger filter in the 5 cup basket. Because it poked over the basket by a small amount it prevented getting grounds in the pot. Pictures illustrate what I mean. Seems like Mr Coffee could do something to make sure grounds don’t get into the coffee when you use the right filter. But – hey – the bigger filters are cheaper.
