   I waited to write this review until I had used this pot for a month because I was wary of a new machine. I have brewed my daily cup in a Cuisinart pot for K-cups for nearly 20 years. I love that pot, but it is starting to die. I can’t order the same pot I had before because they changed the configuration of that device. I also have a Nespresso original for espresso drinks, but we’ve always preferred the Cuisinart coffee maker with the Keurig k-cup configuration for our daily cup(s) of coffee. This pot is surprisingly inexpensive and is really versatile. Here are the things that I love: 1) It brews good coffee. In the coffee carafe, I can brew a large 55 oz. pot of coffee when I have guests. There is a warmer to keep your coffee warm and it automatically turns on only when you are brewing with the carafe. The coffee pot is a traditional Melitta or Krups type configuration with the filter. The cone filter is my preferred filter as I don’t like the taste of coffee brewed in a flat bottom filter. I can use my Melitta coffee filters, but I think you could probably use a gold filter too if you wanted to avoid the single use filters. You can compost the grounds and paper filter easily if you do composting. 2) I can brew a large or small cup. My large coffee cup is 18-oz, so I can use the Melitta cone filter when I brew a large cup. It brews a really nice cup of coffee this way for larger 15 and 18 oz. cups. You can also brew a larger one for a large Yeti or some sort of super-large travel cup. Most cups, including the large Yeti will fit. 3) There is an insert to use K-cups. The machine automatically changes to options of 6, 8, 10, and 12 oz. I use reusable pods, rather than the single use K-cup pods to use my favorite coffee, save money and avoid the waste from single use K-cups. It is an extra purchase, but you can get a 3-pk of the plastic ones for about $8 and a 2-pk of the metal ones for about $16. I like the metal ones a little better (I bought both). Make sure you look for “compatible with Ninja coffee maker” when you search for pods. You will need the ones with three holes, not one. What’s great with the reusable K-cup insert is that you can use any coffee, not just what is available in pre-packed K-cups. I can compost my coffee grounds with the reusable pods as well. 4) This machine brews iced coffee; you just have to choose it on the settings tab. One of my sons who works from home and loves Dunkin Donuts iced coffee says the iced coffee is comparable with the quality and taste of his Dunkin iced coffee. 5) The settings allow you to choose “classic, rich, or iced” for the coffee. I enjoy a classic cup; the rich setting is too strong for my taste for my daily cup of coffee. I can’t tell you how long the pot will last, as I’ve only had it for a month. It does appear to be well-made, and the k-cup insert is really easy to take in and out. I was expecting more difficulty. There is a YouTube video on this pot that is really helpful to watch before you get the pot out of the box. After watching that, I had my cup of coffee brewed within about 5-10 minutes of opening the box, but I did use the directions provided with the pot to help me. I’m really happy with my purchase so far.

   We have been searching for the perfect dual brew coffee maker and THIS is it! We have purchased and returned a few recently after the last dual brew (keurig) just quit working after 15 months! Several things that were just what we needed and this model has: the water reservoir holds enough water that you don’t have to fill it every other use or even EVERY use (for k cups). We also like that the reservoir is on the side so we don’t have to drag the maker out to refill in the back. The pod brew and carafe brew are in the same spot! This means the maker takes up less space. Most importantly, it makes a great cup! You have many size options as well as choices like classic, rich, and over ice so you get just what you want! We love it!

   I will start by saying that this is the second Ninja I have purchased. I love my first one so I bought one for my lake house. There is definitely something wrong with it. It overflows with K-cups and coffee grounds. I have tried all of the trouble shooting suggestions on the website. Nothing works. I am past my return date as I bought it well before we moved into the lake house and didn’t pay close attention to the 30 day return policy. They will not work with me on this. I am totally out $130. I will never buy from this company again.

   We purchased several Ninja products from coffeemakers.us.com and this does not disappoint! We’ve only used k-cups so far. The ‘rich’ setting does give the coffee a richer, stronger flavor than classic. The k-cup permanent filter is a nice touch if you want to use ground coffee and control the brew strength based on coffee type/blend and amount. The only negative is that I cannot find a single permanent basket filter that fits this model. I’ve tried three and all are too big. Maybe I’m doing something wrong – but it’s not nuclear physics – it’s a basket – put it in, fill it up and close it. The problem is that none will sit low enough in the basket to close. It’s not even close. Forcing would break or damage the machine. I also checked to see if the permanent filter replaces the basket in the device, but it doesn’t. The basket cannot be removed from the lid where you add grounds or your k-cup. I even posted the question before writing this review – trying to get the right filter. Gave my model number and bought both recommended filters – none work. This is disappointing because I’d prefer not to buy paper filters if I want to brew a pot. Do not buy the recommended items in ‘frequently bought together’ – they don’t work. Only the k-cup filter works.

My last K machine just quit at less than a year old, and it never really worked right, and this was the second one i had issues with, I decided to try something different. I love this machine.. there is no wait time to heat up the water, press the button and your cup is ready. So far, all pods I’ve tried worked. I have left the basket in under the k cup adapter and have not had one issue with splattering coffee or grounds in my cup. If you use this correctly it will work flawlessly!

   I have purchased this in January 2023. I have been through 3 replacement. The error is it doesn’t register the single cup brew. All of them have had that issue. I would say it’s a design flaw. I have called Shark/Ninja every time and I’ve had to pay $30 to ship a replacement here and it will fail with the same error. My picture shows the pod adapter in and it should just show the pod but it shows both options. I am a huge coffee drinker and I like the option of a single cup or a pot of coffee. Time to go back to the $20 coffee maker and just make pots of coffee. I’m very disappointed in this brand. They will honor a warranty for a year if you register. After that, it will cost YOU shipping for their defective product. I have over $300 vested in a coffee pot I can’t brew single cups of coffee in. Very disappointed.

    For starters this coffee machine is great! I had a Nesspresso machine before which makes some of the best coffee ever but is extremely loud and can get pricey to keep buying their pods. This machine u can use both ground coffee and kcups. The coffee that it makes is not quite as good as the Nesspresso but its close if u set it on a bold brew. I highly recommend

    This coffee pot sounded perfect. Pods and Carafe? Perfect until you realize all choices lead to huge piles of grounds in your cup or carafe. When making in carafe the limit is 4 scoops or else the water will overflow with grounds into your carafe. I am a lab QA person so trust me in four scoops. The recommendation per manual is 4-7. If you put seven scoops in the basket then three scoops will be in your pot. I call customer service and they sent a replacement pod adapter thinking something was wrong. The second one did the same thing. I do NOT recommend this machine.

    We had been Kuerig users for years but went on vacation and stayed in a home with drip coffee and loved the taste. After doing some research (review reading) I purchased this coffee maker. Every time we use the single serve maker, the coffee is filled with gounds. Every. Single. Time. Now, after only 3 months of use, the full pot is also full of grounds. Use of this machine is a little strange. If you pull the pot out to make a cup before the brewing is done, the coffee continues to drip out. You can see in my second pic that the two parts done touch to trigger the coffee stop, even though it has one. There’s an open/close switch that I thought could work, But if you switch it to close, it stops brewing coffee all together. We’ve owned this for three month with use every single day. We make the same size pot with the same amount of grounds. All of a sudden, it’s started overflowing in the basket and getting grounds in the full pot as well. Sadly too late to return. I won’t even give this to someone. It’s trash.

    At first we were going to return it. I would use a K-cup and would have grounds in my cup something awful. Did a little research and found that if I pressed the k-cup down firmly along the edges it would settle better in place when I would float the lid and do not have coffee grounds. I was happy they worked because if not I was shipping it back. There are 3 needles that puncture the top but only one hole to filter coffee through so I don’t think it punctures the bottom big enough to allow the water going in to go out as fast this causing the K-cup to overflow. By pushing the cup down firmly first it seems to have eliminated that issue. It also may depend on the brand of “k-cup” you use. As far as the rest….LOVE IT. I have a smaller model than this in our RV. For whatever reason I seem to like the coffee flowing to the bottom through their little cyclone tunnel thing. Probably just me. It probably serves no real purpose. LOL I kinda dislike the the lever to shut off the drip feature if you want a cup NOW! I do understand it though. It quits pouring water into the coffee filter so you don’t have a pool of coffee sitting in the grounds. Just takes a little getting use to. The water coming out is H-O-T! It will burn your lips and tongue. That is remarkable. Our Keurig did not produce that hot of coffee. The reason we bought this was because, 1) we like “K-Cups” 2) But for the work days we need/REALLY like programming our pot. 3) We like the Ninja name brand. 4) I LOVE the side water reservoir. I don’t have to fill the machine EVERY time for coffee. We bought the Keurig Duo for $40 around Black Friday 2021 from Walmart, BUT was disappointed with the lack of programming. We also have a Hamilton Beach coffee maker tower(?) the coffee is made and sits in a carafe on a heating plate and you push a button for a cup of coffee (think like a fountain pop/soda). And we liked that one, but it doesn’t do k-cups and I was tired of two different machines taking up space. I would recommend and would buy another if need be. Unless this breaks less than 2 months in then of course I wouldn’t buy another one like this.

    Making filter coffee is great, with multiple size selections which is handy depending on how much you need. The only negative aspect of the coffee maker is the K-Cup adaptor. For us folks who try to be environmentaly friendly, the K-cup adapter is exclusively for the plastic K-Cups and not for compostable K-Cups such as San Francisco Bay K-Cups. When using none plastic K-Cups, coffee is splattered all over the counter.

    I love Ninja products. First 10 in 1 ,then grill and griddle. When it was time for a new coffee maker I waited for prime days and this beauty was on sale. Makes great coffee and very versatile. Make a pot, use a pod. Hot coffee, iced coffee (which somehow is not watery; I used to refrigerate leftovers to have iced). I do recommend ordering a permfilter from the get go,although it comes with a few paper ones. Also,I put my own coffee in a pod, so those are necessary as the aftermarket off brands don’t fit. Another thing- in the manual it shows filling reservoir with tap water. No mention of distilled like many machines.

    We loved our Ninja Foodi so thought we would give their coffee maker a try. The day we received our coffee maker I tried to run the water through it as the directions said. It kept saying “add water”. There was water in it but it wouldn’t work. I called tech support and she said I needed a new base and said she would need to charge me $25 for shipping. I explained that I have never even used this machine yet and would not pay shipping for a product that doesn’t work that is brand new. She talked to her manager and was able to send me a new coffee maker. Great! I was ready to test this out again. This time set up was fine. Brewing coffee in the coffee maker worked well but using kcups no matter what we tried the majority of the time a large amount of coffee grounds ended up in our cup. It was disgusting and we decided to return it. I believe this is a design flaw. Not every review mentions this but there are some. I wasn’t willing to try a third machine. We returned it.

    It was an ok coffee maker. I liked the dual functionality which is the selling point but the quality is terrible. It left coffee grounds in the pot when making a big pot and broke after a year and a half of very little use. very expensive for bad quality appliance but worst of all is the warranty and customer support. 1 year warranty and support is the WORST I have ever dealt with.     I love this coffee maker when using a normal filter, but I am having so many issues with kcups. I have tried several different brands and flavors over the last couple weeks and I get so many coffee grounds in my cup. I’m talking a solid tbsp or more, so gross. Finally I put a filter under the kcup adapter and brewed to catch them. Then I opened the kcup and found a rip in the filter inside the cup. See photos. My sister in law has the same maker and has no issues with hers. We’ve even tried using the same kcups. Yes, I have cleaned all of the holes, and no they were not clogged. The water pressure is just ripping a hole in the kcup filter then all the grounds flow out the bottom hole, or they overflow from the top holes. So much ruined and wasted coffee.

    This model (Ninja CFP201) was working well for about half a year before it refused to dispense K-Cups properly. It would only dispense half the amount and with loads of grounds. After a very long service call, they agreed to send out a completely new unit entirely. This worked for about 2 months before the K-Cup functionality began to smoke and make awful noises during brew while sending grounds everywhere. The fact that the K-Cup feature is a removeable piece should be a red flag for anyone buying this. It’s not built for longevity. The drip brew portion is still fine (this part is built in) so I may keep it around for that, but pretty bummed that we’re out for around $150+ for what should be a mid end unit in the market.

However, it is a little tall when flipping up the lid for a pod. You have to pull it out from under the cabinets. Not a deal breaker just a slight annoyance. Only reason it gets 4 stars.     I bought this because, while I like to make pour overs and such, I also like to have an instant option for K cups. You can see my old Keurig in the back. But then I also like to have a full pot option for guests or to wake up with the smell of coffee on the weekends. But I’m not putting ALL of that on my counter so I needed a solution like this Ninja DualBrew. It was very intuitive. In fact, I didn’t even need to read the instructions to figure out how things worked or how to even get the Pod adapter out for a full carafe. The machine won’t even let you use the carafe settings (high volume of water) unless the pod adapter is removed and the brewing shower head is slid forward over the basket. So you don’t need to worry about accidentally brewing half a gallon of water into an 8 oz cup. I tried to brew my first pod cup but it let me know it needed cleaning and upon checking the quick start guide, it let me know that the Ninja needs to run a full carafe brew (only with water, no coffee) before it’s ready to be used. I did that first and then it worked. It’s nice to have a water reservoir too, as you can see my previous Keurig machine was an older simpler version that did not have a reservoir feature. There is also a coffee scoop on the left side that fits into the body of the machine and comes off and on easy. There are multiple brew modes including classic, rich, and over ice, each brewing differently. There is a flip down cup stand for smaller cups to reduce splatter. While a lot of Mr. Coffee machines have a spring loaded closing valve to stop the flow of coffee if you pull the carafe out mid-way, the Ninja features a manual lever that slides left to right just under the main screen. At first, I though this was a shortcoming and wondered what would happen if I forgot to flip it over and the water started overflowing in the basket. But after reading the guide, I found that the machine will stop actively brewing while it is closed and after a short period of time, if you do not flip it back, it will beep to let you know. If you don’t flip it back after five minutes, it will cancel the brew altogether. So it actually ends up being a great feature and safer than forgetting it and letting the basket overflow. The hotplate also has a light up warning to let you know it’s warm and the ninja adjusts the heat depending on the size of the brew and how long it will stay on the plate to avoid burning the coffee. All in all, lot’s of cool features, some physical, some in the software that runs it. Intuitive to use and feels like a quality machine from a quality brand.

    This Ninja Coffee Bar dual brew unit replaced an older Ninja Coffee bar I had for about 4-5 years. The older unit was always problematic. The amount of water it used for a cup or pot always varied, and the orange time to clean light eventually always stayed on and never off. Since we had soft water in our home the problem of calcium buildup was really not a problem, but the light came on nevertheless. This new dual brew system works, so far, perfectly. It seems that Ninja has worked out the glitches. There is no more after drip when the coffee brews. The amount of water used is perfect each time I brew. (I don’t use the coffee basket much, mostly the K-cup insert with reusable stainless steel K-cups with a paper filter.) We have had the unit about 4 months now and it is working perfectly. While I don’t particularly like coffee brewed with soft water, purchasing bottled water gets too pricey. Still, the coffee is generally flavorful and the cleaning light hasn’t yet come on once (I assume because the unit doesn’t have a build-up). If you are looking for a coffee maker that can brew both K-cups (6 to 11 oz cup), and with the K-cup unit removed (using the basket) travel mugs, and from 1/2 to a full carafe of coffee (comes with a glass carafe), you have a brewing unit that pretty-much does it all. Highly recommend. Oh, and fits under our kitchen cabinet and I can raise the K-cup lid without moving the unit.
