I don’t give out of the box reviews like some do so I have waited a month of use so as to give an accurate opinion.Out of the box this a very attractive coffee maker. The finish is fit for a classic car. The stylish design of the carafe is attractive as well. It doesn’t seem to be any more fragile than any other models that I have owned. The easy to grab handle makes pouring even a full pot a breeze..Some drips can occur though and I have found that slower is better. A lot has been said about a clock issue. I have not seen this at this time. It has kept perfect time since the first setting and has not gained at all. It wakes me up every morn at 6:00 am with a fresh pot and will stay hot until it shuts itself off 2 hrs later. I might mention we also use this maker to brew two different kinds of tea during the day and it works great for this. I’ve gotten compliments already on this attractive piece.

I’ve never tried Nostalgia brand before and I was quite pleased with the design quality. All the small details are paid attention to from cup markers inside the reservoir to the spout which actually pours without spilling!
I am worried the plastic on the reusable filter handle is a little weak, especially given the elegant twist to secure mechanism, and due to the water pump issues others have mentioned we did spend the extra $6 for the insurance plan. Overall though the extra ~$20 vs comparable machines is very much worth it. The quality improvement in materials, design, manufacturing tolerances, is very noticeable right out of the box. It’s good looking to boot.

it took me a few minutes to figure it out – being new and all. but I like it. it’s louder than my old coffee maker but it brews my coffee., and it looks good in my kitchen. the clock is like having a night in the kitchen, bonus. I do wish it had the side view level but my old one didn’t have it either- so not a big deal. it works great and I’m hoping for a ling time.

Looks FABULOUS, but not very functional, I am older, but thought “its a coffee maker, how hard can it be”, well be prepared for the lid to go all the way up or you cant get the water in, so it had to sit on my stove to use, and the fill area is completely in the back so holding a full pot of water and trying to pour over the side in the back was way too unwieldy for me and I kept getting it in the coffee filter area and it immediately ran out on the bottom, and the pot is terrible to try to pour out of, water goes everywhere, and when it is hot coffee….I wanted to keep it so bad! but no.

I was a little skeptical to purchase this coffee pot due to the mix reviews. However, I am so glad I did! I have had for about six months now and I love it! It works great! Keeps coffee hot! Best of all, it has that awesome retro-look to match my red retro microwave (also made by the same company). It pours well, no problems with dripping. It takes about 8 minutes to make my half pot of coffee, but it’s worth waiting for. If this coffee pot used to have issues, this company fixed any of those issues and then some. I would highly recommend it to anyone!

Like many other reviews on here, the coffee maker looks fantastic, but you the thing steams like a sauna and you get half the amount of coffee intended. Sounds like a common problem that needs to be resolved before we look at buying another one.

Love the color looks great in my Victorian home. But I had to return it because the digital clock was not working properly. I received the replacement and that one seems to be working great. The plastic feels a little flimsy but it’s OK. Well, the second exchange and after two weeks the digital clock speeds up. This is now my third exchange and after a week of having it connected it worked as it should. I left for a month trip and came home to see that the digital clock is not working. It speeds up. Now I’m stuck with it because the due date for an exchange has past. Don’t bother purchasing this product, It’s not worth the price.

This is the first coffee maker I’ve ever owned, so I don’t have much to compare it to, but this beautiful machine is so amazing. I love Nostalgia Eletric products, my husband and I have a 1950’s themed kitchen and it the best part of it! I’ve had it for about a week and made a cup of coffee just about 2-3 times a day and I have no complaints whatsoever. I have noticed the notorious clock error everyone speaks of, but it doesn’t do me any different because I didn’t plan on using it anyways. Though, I did wake up in the morning to a cold mug of coffee I didn’t plan – I just poured it back through to heat it up and it didn’t bother me much. I will update further if I run into any issues, other than the clock messing up, it’s a great coffee maker!

great product

It is close enough to matching the other red appliances in our kitchen. The clock is illuminated, bright and easy to read. No water level indicator and no temperature settings for warming the carafe.
JustSayIt Verified Buyer –
Every carafe (the actual pot) that comes with each coffee maker I’ve ever purchased always spills coffee on the cabinet top while I’m pouring it into my cup. This one has an unique design where it’s just about impossible to do…no matter how big of a rush you’re in. This is a great tribute to the coffee maker and a very welcome surprise. The coffee comes out super hot, so for your safety…beware of this point. The coffee maker itself makes great coffee relatively quickly. However, I prefer using the size 4 unbleached coned-shaped paper filters as opposed to the reusable basket that comes with it. (It’s just a personal preference.) The unit is very well-made and sturdy as well as looks quite stylish, yet nostalgic, in the amazingly beautiful shade of red.

My fiance and I are huge fans of retro design and aesthetic. When I saw this, I thought “I have to have it”. The reviews made me a bit hesitant. But after quite a lot of use, I’m sold on it. The only issues I’ve had are cleaning the baskets (when you use pre-ground coffee, the autostop tends to get gummed up and it leaks like crazy when you pull the pot to get that early cup). But I’ve had none of the issues with the clock people have mentioned or any function of the unit. It does exactly what it should in exactly the way I need it to… and looks great doing it.
Woodland Star Verified Buyer –
I love the look of this coffee pot. Aside from some pouring difficulties, this is a pretty fantastic coffee pot. I love it’s uniquesness.
Other reviews mentioned issues with the clock, but I have not had any issues with the clock.
Someone asked about how to turn off the automatic timer…just hit power button twice when turning it off. The green light will turn off and will not set timer. If you want it to automatically brew the next day during your programmed time, hit power button twice and green light will illuminate to show it is ready. Hit it once to immediately start brewing without timer.
Someone commented about short heating time. The pot will stay on for two hours, then automatically shut off. If you want it to stay on longer, hit power button again while coffee is hot in the pot and it will continue to heat for another two hours.
The only issue I have had is pouring. It dribbles if you pour too fast. Pouring slowly and lifting lid while pouring help to prevent this. Also, if you use the carafe to pour water into the machine for filling, the carafe can drip or become challenging to empty as the shape of the carafe forces one to completely invert it to get all the water out.
