   This is the 2nd time that this glass broke in the dishwasher. I’d think that the glass shouldn’t be this fragile. Definitely not worth more than $40 Id like a refund or a replacement but I don’t think I trust this brand anymore

   I read all the reviews and decided to give it a try. I’m not disappointed. It’s high quality, but I will admit the carafe seems fragile, but I’ve had no problems so far. It makes great coffee and although they say it holds 32 ounces, the coffee takes up some of that producing about 24-26 ounces of coffee, or two large cups.
   I’d buy this again. OXO makes good stuff!

   This does exactly what it says it will: it easily lifts all the spent grounds out of the carafe and into my countertop compost pail. I love french press coffee, but with a septic system I hate to rinse those remaining grounds down the drain. No biggy for one day, but it starts to add up. The base and handle are really easy to hold and nicely finished. The mesh filter assembly is also really nice; the way the mesh curls up around the spring is much better than my Bodum. However. There are no marks on the carafe or holder to indicate water level, and the lid, push button & lifter are made of really cheap plastic. The lid and push button especially so. They are thin with stamped, sharp edges, which is contrary to every OXO product I’ve ever purchased. For $40+tax I expect a better quality build. My $10 Bodum puts this to shame. It works so well and its other qualities mean I won’t return it, and I guess I can just eyeball the water level, but at $44 this is overpriced.

   This is really a fantastic coffee press. I hate digging out the grounds after using a French press and the scoop solves that problem. Very easy to clean.

   I only wish it came with a metal carafe. The glass is really easy to break *and isn’t a standard size.* It’s 32oz and all the ones I’ve seen to order are 34,oz, so just a bit taller. The diameter is the same so it still works but it would be nice to get the same size. I keep watching for the 32oz ones to become available and I’ll order a couple.

   OXO BREW French Press with GroundsLifter- So perhaps it’s because I’m not a daily French press user but this press I found to be very impressive. I hadn’t used one for a long time. When I got this I was impressed at how simple it was to use and clean. I used a dark roast I like and wow this thing makes a great cup of coffee incredibly quick. Entirely full it’s about enough for two large cups of strong coffee. The longest wait is for the water to heat. I actually have been using my k-cup machine without a cup in it to quickly add hot water to this. It’s certainly the lazy way to do it but it works. Probably more impressive is the cleaning. This thing makes that part so easy. The press screen comes out easily and rinses clean just with the sink. The grounds catcher has a little handler and the grounds just scoop right out. I actually didn’t realize at first the glass pops out of the metal frame and can go in the dishwasher though I haven’t found any part of this needing to be put through the dishwasher. It rinses out so quickly that it’s just not necessary. Overall I really like this product. It’s managed to even pull me away from my go-to k-cup routine. It makes a significantly better cup of coffee in nearly the same amount of time. The price point is reasonable given the quality.

   Diese Frenchpress ist hoffentlich die letzte, die ich je kaufen werde, da sie alle meine Anforderungen erfüllt.
   Zum einfachen Reinigen kann man den Glasbehälter aus der Metallfassung nehmen und wunderbar abspülen oder in die Spülmaschine stellen. Am besten gefällt mir allerdings der Kaffeesatzheber.
   Dieser flache Löffel, welcher unter den Kaffee in die Frenchpress gesetzt wird, dient nach dem Leeren der Karaffe als Anheber. Damit bekommt man den Kaffeesatz mühelos aus dem Galsbehälter. Das Reinigen war noch nie so schnell und einfach. Ich wünschte dieses Feature würden sich andere Hersteller langsam mal abgucken. Für mich ein absolutes Muss!

   A french press has a filter screen for a reason, to filter grounds. When the screen contacts the handle for the grounds lifter, a gap is created to either side of the handle between the screen and the not round flask interior, allowing grounds through, lots of them. The photo, if it posts, shows the design flaw. Regarding the 5 star reviews, how do you give something 5 stars then admit there are more grounds in your coffee? If you enjoy grounds in your coffee, why bother with a filter at all?

    Allows grind bypass. Grinds end up in the coffee with the easy clean lift handle in it. I’m sure there are better standard presses for this cost, and that’s what this ends up as if you don’t want the grinds.

    I love French Presses – what I don’t like about them is cleaning them – the ground get everywhere and it is just a mess. Then I came across this one – with a coffee grounds catcher at the bottom – and I tried to give it a shot. After my second pot, I took the other ones to GoodWill. A couple of other users have mentioned some difficulty with the grounds – here are some hints: 1. Ground ya own coffee 🙂 I go to Trader Joes and grind it there on a rough setting ( I think # 2 above the roughest) that is just enough for me to get really great flavor and keep the ground outta the coffee. Also, I like my coffee really bold – so, it sits there for like 10 mins – I never get ground in my coffee 🙂 2. When cleaning (a) I life the press halfway,fill it with water, then press is flush to the bottom … and dump it out. 3. Then (cleaning b) I take a paper towel and put it flat in the sink (this isn’t a trauma … as I usually clean the press last – so the sink is empty) and dispense the coffee ground on top of the paper towel, fold, and put it in the garbage. Some ground do get into the sink … but really it is like .05% Oh, a final thing … the first time you try … remember to put the ground catcher in first … LOL – that is why I said, my SECOND pot of coffee … ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

    Love this coffee press, wife wanted coffee but didn’t like the Keurig, so she wanted something that could cut down on waste. We take this everywhere, to the campsite, the in – laws, the picnic. allows us to make coffee and tea everywhere. the included grinds puller makes it soo much easier to clean and maintain. all the pieces, come apart to make cleaning a quick job. All in all, wife loves it.
