When my old drip coffeemaker started making coffee that was barely lukewarm, I turned to coffeemakers.us.com to find another one. I was dismayed that all drip models were either $19 or $90. The cheap ones never last and I don’t need one with a lot of bells and whistles. During my search, percolators came up as something others had considered. Being a child of the 70’s, my husband and I each remembered our moms using these and how indestructible they seemed to be. I read all the reviews and was convinced. It’s been almost a month and my husband and I still can’t talking about how much we love it! Very simple to use, coffee is piping hot until you turn the pot off and no need for special filters! We use our old 12 cup drip filters. Just pull it down right over the tube and you have your cutout center. This pot was delivered to my work and I made the first trial pot there. Several coworkers had no idea they still made percolator and had fond childhood memories to share. The first pot turned out great and we’ve had no problems. One thing I might mention. This pot doesn’t turn off until you unplug it. I purchased a plug in appliance timer thru coffeemakers.us.com for $11 which solved that problem! It sounds cheesy but it’s hard to describe the feelings/comfort this old style pot brings to mind and even though I only drink 1/2 cup each morning, I’m already attached to it!

I just bought a presto 6 cup electric percolater for travel, and I figured I’d write a review for this 12 cup model, which I bought in 2018.It has been used EVERY DAY for the last 3 years except when we’ve been out of town.Seriousy,no lie….every day either 12 cups to fill my thermos or 4-6 on my days off.It is a work horse.Takes 10-15 minutes to brew and is hot yet not scalding. The pot itself does not shut off, only the brewing cycle so that is something to consider.Took a while to get coffee measure right as I had a drip pot for years but once I did it’s great! It does have a lot of coffee stain in it but I’m guessing that’s because I soap and water it only once a month.Use a paper filter and it shouldn’t leak grinds. The thing is loud but that’s the only downside and it’s no big deal.Great great coffeepot and certainly got my $$ worth.I hope the new one I ordered works as well.

The flavor is excellent when using a percolator and please grind your own beans. Easy to use and forget about a filter. Just a waste of money and energy. I purchased the first one 3.5 years ago. I feel that you need to make several pots in order to what I consider seasoning the pot, similar to a carbon steel skillet. Several friends were over and I made a pot in the drip coffee maker and one in the percolator. The drip maker was quickly washed and taken to the basement and has been seen since. I make a minimum of one pot per day and at times two, so the money was well spent to make over 1,300 pots of coffee during its lifespan and equates to approximately $0.04 per pot. The pot finally stopped working, but I had purchased two. Always have a new backup and two stovetop percolators. I would prefer if the pot had a clear top in order to see the coffee percolating. At times I have not seated the internal stand properly and ended up with hot water. For now, I wait a couple of minutes to ensure it is making the proper sound while percolating. Great pot, with very minor drawback.

I waited a few years to write this review. I use this coffee percolator 2-3 times a week. It makes nice coffee and I like the very fine holes in the coffee basket – it takes longer to brew but the taste is richer.
I had a recent with the cord (photo). I started noticing sparks as I plugged it in to the percolator and it overheated. There is no screw to tighten it up and I was afraid to continue using it.
I reached out to the manufacturer, Presto, and we had a series of interactions. It turns out that the plug had rust/corrosion, and evidence of water exposure. I need to be more careful keeping that area dry.
They offered me a great discount and more than fair deal on a replacement percolator, which I accepted. Great customer service – can;t wait for my new (replacement) one to arrive!

Our 12 year old Keurig died, so we needed to replace it. We wanted to get something more environmentally friendly ie no plastic pod waste. We decided to try our first ever percolator and we love it. We’re not sure why people stopped using percolators, they make a much better tasting cup of coffee. Crossing our fingers this unit also lasts at least 12 years. Highly recommend this.

this is a very simple coffee maker. It works well. No plastic inside. The coffee takes a few minutes to percolate and then an orange light comes on to tell you it is done. In Canada it is extremely difficult to find the large square filters it comes with, but they can be ordered online from the company over the phone only. IMO this doesn’t matter because no filter is really needed (few or no grinds get through) and the small circular filters are easy to find. There is no automatic shutoff and no on/off switch (you just plug it in and then unplug it). It would be vastly improved by an automatic shutoff option. An on/off switch would be nice but technically not needed since you have to unplug to clean or fill it anyway. If safety is a concern the exterior is very hot. It is very easy to clean.

We wanted to get a coffee maker with no plastic parts – this beauty is all stainless steel inside, and no plastic touches the coffee. It’s simple to use and makes delicious coffee. If you grind the coffee coarse you don’t need a paper filter. If you have a finer grind, the percolator filters work well. The coffee does not shut off after a period of time – which is great if you like having hot coffee throughout the morning. If you want to control on/off times automatically, you can plug it into a timer plug. 10/10, I wish I had bought one years ago!
