   I am updating my review. I really like the size and design of the pitcher so I removed the ground holder and used a traditional cold brew bag. Got a much better extraction that rivaled my Toddy. I really like that this pitcher has plastic to protect the glass. It’s a good size, easy to clean, tight lid, and I was able to glue the bumper back on the bottom. If you get this I would just recommend using traditional cold brew bags. You get better extraction. Still took one star due to original thoughts. I just finished brewing my 3rd pitcher and consistently am not getting a good extraction. First pitcher I brewed for 24 hours- super weak. 2nd – 48 hour – still weak. 3rd pitcher 72 hours – bitter but still weak. The pitcher is cheaply constructed as well as one of the clips broke off with the first use and the rubber ring on the bottom came off during the 3rd use. I have only washed it by hand. You get what you pay for I guess. Going back to my Asobu.

   This cold brew coffee make will come in handy, however there are PROS and CONS. First the PROS: It’s inexpensive (under $20), it looks good, it’s built well for the price, it’s quick to fill, and best of all it does not need electricity to brew coffee. Now the CONS: It does not filter the coffee well which allows quite a bit of coffee grounds to make it into the pot which ends up in your coffee cup. Poorly filtered coffee grounds has been scientifically proven to cause health risks because this builds up on your internal organs and never get digested. The cleanup is a pain. You can’t just grab a filter and drop it in the trash like you do with a conventional coffee maker. You have to run it underwater, therefore causing the grounds to go down your drain. Just like grounds buildup on your internal organs, they build up in your sewer pipes. I recently took a part my kitchen sink trap and cleaned the pipes with a bottle cleaning brush because there was buildup from the previous residence. Imagine that build up within your internal organs. Lastly, it wastes coffee because using cold water does not get all of the coffee out of the grounds, therefore you must use more coffee grounds to make the same amount of coffee. If you were to fill it with hot water to brew the coffee, you would get better results. But it is not designed to stand up to hot water, which could likely melt the thin plastic filter. And if I were to run hot water through it, I might as well use my electric coffee maker which does a far better job at brewing coffee and uses a very fine mesh biodegradable filter which filters the coffee grounds better, therefore making it healthier. Conclusion: My 30-year-old Mr. Coffee, coffee maker makes a more consistent cup of coffee with easier cleanup and does not waste coffee. And all I have to do is simply chill the coffee afterwards. My electric coffee maker is also healthier. So, although I like this little cold brew coffee maker, and I will use it if I go camping or lose power, it’s going to sit on the shelf for now.    This is a wonderful little cold brew pitcher made with high quality materials. Doesn’t leak coffee, doesn’t leak grounds, pours without dripping. Super easy to clean, top rack dishwasher safe. The plastic around the glass makes it much less fragile. Product functions perfectly and feels well made! Capacity is roughly 3 decent sized (grande, medium, whatever you consider moderate size) cups. Only issue for us was that hubby and I both wanted more. So we ordered a second and love them!

   This is the second one of these I have bought. The first one was all glass and of course I broke it. This one seems much more durable and hopefully I can keep it in one piece! It is easy to use. I put a lot of coffee in the filter and I stir the grounds while I pour the water in. Overnight in the fridge makes good cold brew. The filter can go in the top of the dishwasher but I would wash the carafe by hand.

   This is the easiest thing I could have ever used! I had a complicated setup that took forever to make just a tiny bit of grainy coldbrew, and it wasn’t worth the trouble. I would end up frustrated spending a small fortune on bottled brew at the grocery store. I wish I had known that such an easy cold brew pitcher existed, seriously! It is so quick to prepare, I put it in the fridge and give it a stir partway through the brew time, then lift out the basket and I have a pitcher of perfect, yummy cold brew left. Not only that but I ordered this adorable multicolored version, because it was just too perky to pass up, and it is super easy to clean. There are no complicated pieces or hidden corners that require special brushes to access. Also it is a jug that makes water into delicious coffee, which is just glorious in itself. It is so simple to make the cold brew, the pitcher is painless to clean, and the filter basket is fine, keeping the beverage clear. Entirely recommend getting this if you enjoy cold brews, iced teas, etc.

    Been using this little guy for 4 or 5 months now. With prices at the coffee shops moving into ludicrous territory, this thing is a must for me. May take you some trial and error to find the right coffee/grind for it. I use Peet’s Decaf Major Dickason’s Roast (pre-ground). I’ve tried some cheapr pre-ground coffee to bring the cost down more (coffeemakers.us.com Fresh and Great Value brand ground coffee), but the water just don’t filter through right. Even though you use a good amount of grounds per pot, it’s still considerably cheaper that anything you can go buy. I was concerned how the filter screen would hold up, and I think it’ll be the first thing to break, but so far it’s been fine. Little messy to clean out, but not a huge deal. I just put some Vanilla soy milk, a touch of agave nectar, and a big ice cube in it and good to go! I get about two 12 oz glasses and one 16 oz glass out of each pot. Holds 40 oz of water. It comes out a little less than that as the grounds hold some of it, but once you add fixin’s into your glass, it’s right back up to around 40 oz.

    I had no problems getting the filter clean, but a word of caution: when this is covered in soapy water, if you hold it by the handle upside-down the glass will slip out of the cover!!

    I love this coffee “brewer” i use it daily. The only thing I’m not a fan about is that coffee collects in the lid. The seal could be moved up more to maybe not do this. You can remove the rubber seal but then the top doesn’t fit right. It’s easy to clean the glass is it’s own piece. Handle is removable

    I have to say I loved this cold brew Pitcher so much I had to buy a second one. I initially bought the red one for my mom for christmas and she absolutely loved it. And since we don’t always agree on coffee flavors. I had to buy the white one for myself. I have a few other brands of cold brew pitchers , but this is by far the best. The biggest selling point is the grounds holder in the center. I love that it has the little screw piece on the bottom that releases for easy cleaning. It makes things so much easier. At first it takes some time to navigate it on how to take the parts apart to clean/ use Also, when I first out my grounds inside, it didn’t look like it was seeping into the water So, I was worried it was not working.     Update 8/2022: I never did go back to the bag method. In fact, I bought another of these pitchers. Even with the couple of extra steps, this method is still more convenient and way less messy.

    We have been making cold brew for years just by mixing water and ground coffee in a jar and then filtering it. We have also used the cotton bags you can get to hold the coffee and then just lift that out of the jar. Both methods work just fine. This little pitcher has a mesh insert to hold the coffee so theoretically you just lift that out and use the cold brew. It works, but there are two issues. First, quite a bit of tiny coffee grounds/particles stay behind so I find I need to run the brew through a coffee filter in order to take that out. If it doesn’t bother you, then you wouldn’t need to do that. Second, there is still a lot of liquid held by the grounds, and unlike the cotton bag, you can’t squeeze it out, so I end up setting the mesh strainer over a bowl to let it drip. Again, if you don’t care about that extra, you wouldn’t have to do that. Overall, the pitcher works pretty well, but I will probably go back to the cotton bag method.

    Primula Burke Cold Brew Iced Coffee Maker – Glass Carafe 1.6 Qt : To start, this maker does make decent coffee & the screw-off bottom of the filter insert allows for relatively easy clean up. My main complaint is the strength of the brew – it is ok, but not nearly as good as using a simple jar or French press approach that allows free mixing of water and ground coffee via occasional stirring. Without the ability to dilute, this maker just does not make enough coffee for me. The filter insert is the main impediment to more efficient brewing. Some small modifications that could push this maker to 4 or 5 stars: 1) The filter is too narrow. After putting 12-16 TBSP coffee into the insert, the bed of grounds becomes densely packed after adding water. The maker suggests stirring the grounds from time to time in order to make the coffee stronger, but the only way to avoid a packed bed of grounds is to add less coffee to the filter insert. 2) The screw-off filter bottom is not porous/does not have a membrane. This means that the brew mainly relies on left-right water diffusion (reducing brew efficiency). Additionally, the lack of a porous bottom means that there is about an inch of grounds/brewed coffee left in the insert (see pics). A porous bottom along with a way to rest the filter insert atop the brewer to drain prior to emptying spent grounds would help reduce waste. 3) Less important to me compared to 1) and 2): The filter does not remove finer grained coffee particulate. The filter is better than the results using a French press but if you want truly clear (but brown) coffee you will need to filter it. In the end this brewer requires a choice between coffee strength (number of servings) and brew efficiency (wasting coffee) and anything other than a lukewarm recommendation for this brewer does not seem appropriate for my needs. It tastes just like a glass, or plastic, depending on which part you taste.     Bought the aqua color cold brew coffee maker. I like this cold brew coffee maker for several reasons, the comfort grip makes it easy and gives me a secure feeling when I carry the maker. The lid where you insert your course cold brew coffee grinds screws on and off. Once you are done drinking your coffee you can remove the coffee grinds from the carafe and dump it into the trash. I have had zero coffee grinds in my coffee. I do buy cold brew coffee grounds and grind them to a coarse finish. I place 8 scoops of coffee inside the mesh removable filter and place the coffee maker in the refrigerator over night for a fresh glass of coffee in the morning. I hand wash after use and then it is ready for my next round of coffee.

    It’s the right size for my fridge. And the instruction does say to wait over night for coffee. I just made it last night. I do believe you should wait the full 24 hours. Cause mine came out slightly watery but that has nothing to do with the brewer. Since its my new brewer so I’ll take my time making the right ratio to water cause that is why its watery. So write down your notes and conduct your experiment on the type of beans you are using. I am a coffee snob so for me this is excellent for me to try to see what coffee beans may be the best for ice coffee. But the flavor is there. This method of brewing is not bitter at all. I love this little brewer cause it’s just the right size for me. I was a bit disappointed its not a glass. But I know it’s going to be durable. I love making hot coffee too I have a hario V60 when I feel like changing up my taste. And I love my moka pot. So I like to experiment with different brewers.

    This is one of the best purchases I’ve made. The pitcher is beautiful. I LOVE the colors. They’re vibrant and make me happy. The glass pitcher gets added protection from the teal wrap/handle. It’s been very easy to use and clean. I’m technically challenged, so if I can do it, anyone can! I love cold brew and was making it the old-fashioned way by adding grounds and water to a pitcher/jar. In the morning, I’d have to stand there and strain my coffee grounds through layers of filters set into a strainer. It was very tedious and time consuming. With this new pitcher, I simply add my grounds to the filter, add water, and place it in the fridge. The next morning, I simply remove the filter, replace the lid, and enjoy perfect cold brew. There have been no grounds in my cup. I’ve been making a half batch, which for me is 1/2 cup of coffee grounds + 4 cups of cold water. I leave it for anywhere between 20-24 hours. This has made enjoying cold brew a breeze.

    This has been my go to cold brew maker for four years now. For what it is, it does it very well. My only complaint is that the glass pitcher breaks a lot. It’ll chip, and my most recent purchase lasted two months before it cracked… I’m gonna start buying something else, because it just gets very frustrating despite the price. I think over the last four years, I’ve purchased six of these due to breaking. The rubber footer on the bottom of the pitcher also falls out pretty easily, but that’s not a big loss.

    I am loving this! I had long wondered if doing this would work-like when my Mom would make her ‘sun’ tea by allowing the sun to steep her tea. This works beautifully! Once it’s been in the fridge overnight, it tastes great! I love coffee but hot beverages make me sleepy-perhaps too relaxing? Updated to include photos. The 1st one shows all components detached and the 2nd shows the different components put together. Super easy to clean BUT- CAREFUL-the glass carafe is NOT attached to the handle portion.!     I’ve been using this product for about 3 months. I did like it and found it relatively easy to use and clean. I ended up not loving the capacity so I bought I new one that would make more. I went to fill both my old and new ones tonight and found that there is mold or something growing under where the filter attached to the casing on the one I’ve been using for 3 months. I tried to carefully clean it out and the filter just pulled away from the casing. In my opinion, the filter is not made to last and I’m disappointed that mold was able to grow under it and it’s basically fallen apart after 3 months. Hopefully I can get a new filter so that the pitcher can still be used.

    Bought this as I typically prefer cold brew over ‘normal’ coffee (idk why 🤷🏻‍♀️). I’ve used it a handful of times and I love it. It’s the perfect size for one person, although if coffee is your main drink of choice (meaning you drink more than 1-2 cups daily) you may want a bigger pitcher. Besides that, it is easy to clean.     Fácil de usar, de buena calidad, y excelentes resultados. No hay mucho qué decir. Si te gusta el café y no eres de los que si no te ardes la boca con lo caliente del café no lo disfrutas, que te quieres concentrar más en el sabor, este hay que probarlo. No he visto otras marcas así que no puedo comparar pero este me gustó y hace bien su trabajo. El que se pueda destapar el filtro por abajo ayuda a que la limpieza sea completa.
