   As shown in pictures, the soft plastic/silicone wrap fell off the hard plastic part of the handle only after 1-2 week. This is already of a replacement of the 1st order which had the exact problem. Totally a waste of time and money. Beware!!

   2 qt. version is tall but worth it for the capacity. Wish it was a bit shorter with a slightly bigger diameter to keep the same capacity. It may be the only item on a refrigerator shelf to force changing the shelf height. Fortunately we do have a door pocket which accommodates it.

   Threads for the filter housing extension to the lid are a bit finicky to get started straight.

   Experiment with different roasts, grinds, and steep times. Makes a smooth and clear glass of cold brew and is much more economical than the chain coffee shops.

   Living in the desert,I live on Cold Brew Coffee in the summer. What a great carafe set up this is to make the process easier. It has a mesh cone insert that screws into the lid for the coffee grounds. No messy straining when it’s done… it just lifts right out! The size is compact so it fits neatly in the fridge, but still holds a lot of coffee! I like that it’s glass so it’s easy to clean the coffee stains, unlike plastic versions of Cold Brew makers. It’s nice enough to put on the table with company. Also, I’ve used it for sun tea! I put the bags in the mesh cones and when the tea is brewed, just unscrew the cone and toss the bags. So much easier than trying to grab the bags out with tongs. I highly recommend this product and it makes a nice gift for the iced coffee or tea lover.

   Perfection is reached in this coffee maker. it is 100% leak proof, the mesh filter is great for a medium fine grind, and the perfect brew is reached at the 24 hr period. We tested coffee after 12, 24 and 36 hrs. 24 hrs was the sweet spot.

   We brewed at room temp, though I know the fridge is recommended. It worked just as well at room temperature. The borosilicate glass feels nice in the hand. Though the filter is a plastic mesh, we felt better knowing that the majority of the contact with the coffee wasn’t plastic.

   The handle has a nice silicone grip on it, and its a wide long handle that makes it easy to maneuver even when the carafe is full. The filter is easy to put on and remove, and clean. It securely screws on the lid, and stays put during the brew process.

   So I quit energy drinks about 6 months ago because my fertility doctor told me to stop chugging liquid lightning like a frat boy on finals week. Switched to coffee — and suddenly my budget went from 2-for-$5 cans to one cold brew at Starbucks costing $6.80-something. I said, ‘I ain’t a Rockefeller!’ So I found this glorious contraption. Super easy: toss in the grounds, fill with water, and let it chill for 24 hours (that’s my sweet spot). Pro tip: get the glass one — not that plastic nonsense. This thing saves money, tastes better, and makes me feel like a fancy barista with commitment issues. 10/10 would steep again.

   I previously purchased a different cold brew coffee maker from Takeya, so I was excited to try this version. My other Takeya pitcher was a plastic 2-quart, which was too big to fit in my refrigerator, but this 1-quart glass version fits easily in the door. I like this product better, as the glass is easy to keep clean. If you look up cold brew coffee recipes, most people will tell you to use a 1:8 ratio by weight of coffee grounds to water. Attempting that with this pitcher does not work—the coffee grounds come up significantly higher than the water, to where less than half of the added coffee is touching the water. I didn’t measure it precisely, but I estimate that you have a ratio of 1:20 or less when you add enough water to cover the coffee. In other words, you won’t get the normal, extra-strength cold brew most people go for, you instead get a normal-strength coffee brewed cold. It disassembles for easy cleaning, and it is easy enough to empty most of the grounds in the trash that not too much ends up in the garbage disposal. The form factor is great, 1 quart is the right amount, and the low-acid coffee is really pleasant to drink. My wife and I have added it to our daily routine, and we’re pretty pleased. I just wish they had thought out better the form factor for the coffee filter.

    Glass cold brew 1 quart Vine review. Brand: TAKEYA. Something is apparently wrong with this listing. When a new 1 quart glass jar is combined with an old listing for a 2 quart Tritan jar. It is apples and oranges. This TAKEYA 1 quart new product has a glass jar, as of today ONLY 3 reviews are for the glass jar, and the other 59,797 ratings today are not for this new release with a glass quart jar. 🤷🏼‍♂️ The other 59,797 ratings may be a count error, and some of the ones that are real ratings are probably for the 2 quart Tritan jar. I won’t be counting! I actually like that Tritan material, but this isn’t what is being reviewed here. We begin. It’s one quart, you will probably want more than 32 ounces brewed at a time. The mesh filter is fairly flimsy, and porous, unless you like the “fines” that get though this mesh, you can do better. As other reviews have mentioned, installing the filter in the handle cap is a bit wonky. I found it easiest to hold both upside down and screw in the filter. If you are slow, you should not spill. Only then screw this into the glass jar holding your 32 oz of water. The shipping box says “Odor-free, stain-free, taste-neutral borosilicate glass.” I brew 24 hours at room temperature, so it fits a routine. Ask around for suggestions for how many Tablespoons to put in the mesh for that 24 hours and 32 oz. Everyone has an opinion!!! Brew and adjust. Tasting your results: You can always add some water if too strong. But you can’t add coffee if too weak. Many variables when cold brewing. Coarse grind beans are best. And you can experiment mixing two or more types of beans! I don’t like the mixed listing, that implies this 1 quart glass is highly rated. I don’t like the mesh filter that can’t last as long as the metal, I don’t like how it screws into the handle. And the price today is too close to the truly outstanding Lafeeca Cold brew pot. And likely others. It will make decent cold brew though, and if you don’t like the fines, don’t pour them in your cup!!! But no value here, average build. 3 Star review. I instantly became a follower of Lafeeca here on coffeemakers.us.com. And yes it has Tritan pitchers in their cold brew models and my rare 5 Star rating.     Cold brew has gotten expensive. you can buy a small bag of coffee and make 3 quarts of cold brew for the price you pay for one bottle at the store. I love the design of this. All the components come apart for easy cleanup. It has a super fine mesh strainer where the coffee goes. No grounds in your coffee. The handle is comfortable and the lid tightens up so you can shake it. Make sure you shake it when you get the coffee and water in. Let it set in the fridge for 12-24 hours and you have cold brew. I usually pour it into a mason jar for storage, clean the cold brew maker and get another batch going. We drink a lot of cold brew around here. Great for afternoon pickme up. It also works for a cold brew tea.

    I’ve tried lots of cold brew apparatuses from a glass mason jar to the large serving plastic containers. For my use, this one is the best I’ve used. The glass feels great—thick and heavy. The inner filter was very effective paired with my Fellow grinder: I was able to coarse grind without a ton of grit or fines falling into the brew WITHOUT a paper filter! I used 100g of coarse coffee and mostly filled the container with fresh filtered water. 12 hours later I was wildly impressed with the results. If you exclusively drink cold brew, you might prefer one of the larger systems designed for 12oz bags of coffee. This isn’t a super high volume kit. However, for the occasional cold brew or smaller volume coffee consumers, this thing rocks.

    My wife and I are unabashed coffee snobs. We’ve drank almost nothing but French Press coffee for the past fifteen years. It was only a couple of years ago that I tried cold brew coffee and I really liked it (the Stok store brand). Still, we marched on with our French Pressing and recently also started doing Espresso. This popped up on an item available for review and I couldn’t resist. We’re a few brews in now and my wife and I are both really enjoying the coffee we’re able to make with it. I’d say if you like the Stok brand (sorry I just haven’t tried other brands so I can’t really compare) you’ll like what you’re able to make with this cold brewer. The container is a nice thick glass and the top is just wide enough for me to get my fat hand down into for a good cleaning. The top screws on and off and has a handy . . . err, bump stop? feature when you’re one screw rotation up that will keep the top locked in place while you pour. The filter is easy enough to clean. One silly annoyance was that it doesn’t come with brewing instructions, just a QR code that takes you to their website and the instructions. C’mon guys, just print out some instructions and throw them in the box. Basically for full strength you put 1.25 cups into the filter, fill the container almost to the top (to allow displacement from the filter and coffee), screw the lid on and shake it up for 30 seconds. Brew for 12-24 hours, shaking a couple of times during the process. One serious annoyance, as another reviewer mentioned for some reason the filter is unreasonably hard to get the thread started when screwing it onto the lid. It takes me several careful tries before being able to screw it on without it being cross-threaded.

    Great, simple cold brew coffee maker that’s effortless to use, store and clean, and my coffee tastes nice and smooth. You’ll need to adjust the recipe to your individual taste. Fits in the fridge door, and I had no issues with leaks. Also ran the components through the dishwasher on the top rack and everything came out fine. So much cheaper than buying expensive cold brew by the bottle or cup, and will pay for itself in no time!
