   I love this coffee maker, it makes great coffee, and I love the look and the easy to clean, etc. I have found I like the Tchibo coffee or the Lavazza coffee beans for this. I also don’t love the water reservoir making it hard to fill when under an upper cabinet. We just bought a smaller necked bottle at Ikea but you can find this kind at any store which we fill up with water, and then easily pour into the reservoir without having to move the machine.

   I came from making my own espresso, and not enjoying the cleanup process to trying this machine out to make life easier in the mornings. At first I did not enjoy the strength even with the extra bean setting but I quickly got used to the taste. Realizing I was just making coffee way too strong lol. Other guests have commented that they enjoyed the coffee at the regular strength setting as well. The machine started to make a rattling noise about 3 weeks in, I got concerned so I reached out to customer support and they did not respond. However, the machine still works so I’m sticking with it. The main shortcoming is the water tank. It is too small and if you have cabinets on top you have to pull the machine out in order to take the tank out and refill it. I have since addressed that issue by adding a float valve plumped directly in and I now love it. As far as longevity this is my second month, so I’m not sure how long it will last but I am hopeful.

    The coffee tastes good which is most important. It is easy to use as far as on/off and selecting size/boldness of coffee however the water reservoir is tiny and you can’t see the full level. We have the machine on the counter with the back end under the cupboard which I’d imagine is the set up for many people. When time to fill the water AGAIN you have to pull the machine out and it doesn’t slide easily. It’s good but needs a few tweaks to be great.

    This is our 1st bean to brew machine. I’m impressed with the quality of the machine being exposed to Jura machines in the past. Great flavor, temp and not a loud machine. One thing to know, STAY AWAY from oily beans (Starbucks especially). The beans clogged up the grinder. Now we can kick the K-cups and not have acidic coffee. Happy Customer!

    Was looking for a mess-free single serve and I could not be happier with this! Self grinds, self contained, easy to clean great coffee! Love that you can adjust the size of the default cups. Also love the ease of cleaning up the grounds (they dispense into a tray). If there’s one negative it’s just the water reservoir is a tad small and when I go to refill it, I have to move the whole machine to get it out of the back (because I put the machine under cabinets that sit a bit low). But it’s totally manageable. Way cleaner than my previous “pod” machine that I would have ground into individual pods, then have to clean them out. So happy with this purchase.

    I’ve had 4 different bean-to-cup superautomatic espresso machines and this one is the best, hands down. I do have to keep the manual handy in case I want to make changes to my settings because the symbols are not intuitive for that (only 1 of my previous machines actually had text and a menu instead of hieroglyphics), but for everyday use it’s perfect once you’ve got it all set up the way you like it. I love how compact it is, and the design of each piece. I love that you can remove the drip tray that’s just on the front and brew into a larger cup like a travel mug, and then just snap it back on with magnets. I have no leakage inside the machine to deal with under or behind the grounds container like with another certain Italian brand of machine. I love how easy it is to clean also! It’s quick too, quick to turn on and heat up, quick to produce your drink, and then it’s quiet when it shuts itself off too (without a loud rinse cycle!). I’m glad I decided I didn’t need a frothing wand. I just use a jug-style frother now instead and it’s better because that can work at the same time as the Tchibo does. Overall I’m super happy with my purchase and the great value of this machine! I’ve figured out that my perfect espresso for my latte is the default setting plus the boost button. Definitely needs the boost in the morning!

    Love this machine! Grinder works well and makes a mean cup of coffee or espresso. My only complaint is that the water reservoir is small and needs frequent refilling. Otherwise, being able to grind enough coffee for just one cup at a time is truly amazing. This am machine is a more affordable often too other automatic espresso machines like the Philips.     I’ve owned this coffee maker now for just about six months and still really enjoying it. Was a little skeptical at first after seeing the ad on Instagram and finding it on coffeemakers.us.com to purchase. I guess you could say I’m a little “old school”, I don’t think I’ve spent much more than $100 on a coffee maker before so spending what I did for this one was a little out of the norm but happy I did.. You can tell a lot of time and research went into this machine to make it work the way it does. My machine gets used on an average of four times per day, yes we love our coffee. Sure the water reservoir is a little small and would be nice if it was a little bigger but it really isn’t that difficult to fill up a cup of water and pour it in the back, also to add beans every other morning into the top section is simple. I take out the grinder which is simple and also very well made and rinse it under hot water about once a week which seems to be fine as it keeps it going perfectly. If there’s anything I’ve noticed that maybe could go wrong with the machine it would be the motor which brings back the grinder after it does its thing, seems like it’s under a little stress at times but so far it’s working fine.     I have had this coffee maker for over a year now. I like it so much i bought one for my son and his wife as a house warming gift. It is easy to set up, super easy to maintain and makes a fabulous cup of coffee. The size is perfect for the counter – not too big and its a pretty machine. I descale it monthly – but it tells you when to do it – so easy. i like the single serve – i don’t waste a pot of coffee when i just want one cup AND I can use my own beans! No plastic pods in the garbage! Highly recommend!

    It’s only been a few days and I’m so happy I decided to pay just a little more for this machine. I didn’t want to mess with the fancy gadgets (former barista trauma lol) and don’t need a frother since I already have a nice one. Pros: – No more coffee grinding – Three different sizes plus a boost – Fast: only a few seconds to brew a shot – Sleek: looks great on the counter and it’s not an eye sore. Cons: – The water reservoir is in the back and removable but you have to pull it up which makes it awkward to refill when your machine is under the cupboard. – I don’t understand the different sizes of bean reserve/storage. It felt like unnecessary gadgets that I need to store. Despite the cons, I would highly recommend this machine. 😎

    I had actually purchased another known brand and found this unit while waiting and for less. I’m glad I made the choice. Only down fall for me is I’m normally a bulk coffee drinker, I think the large setting is only 8.4 oz max …but don’t quote me. Its not really a issue since I have been experimenting on the side with a small Expresso machine to make coffee. The beans are pretty good, I may start using this brand. Overall I’m very happy with this unit, fingers crossed I can get a few years without issues.

    UPDATE: Kept getting warning to empty grounds. They had been emptied and the part that compresses the grounds (IDK what it’s called) and been rinsed and wiped down. I again took out that part and wiped around inside and it works fine again. Just made a cup of espresso in my Tchibo Single Serve Coffee Maker – Automatic Espresso Coffee Machine – Built-in Grinder with Tchibo Barista Milano Style Espresso Beans and OMFG! No more coffee shops for me while I have this at home. Beans are mildly sweet and slightly bitter, although it is not too much of either of those. Set-up super easy. I’m able to remove water reservoir while it’s under the cabinet as my cabinets are a bit high. No leakage yet although I’ve used it six times within the past four hours (yeah I know probably too much). Temperature is PERFECT not horribly hot so it doesn’t scorch the grounds. I got the machine with the part that extends the bean capacity and we’ll see how it goes. Two people in the house that are coffee aficionados (not snobs) and I’m sure this machine is going to get a lot of use. Elderly father has high praises for both the machine and the quality of the beans. No I have not yet removed the QR code yet I’ll leave it there for future use.

    I love the machine! I usually brew the espresso or regular cup and run a cycle of water through after.. similar to an americano. This seems to keep it clean. I also clean the brewing unit every time I empty the coffee grounds container, which ends up being about once a week. And, it’s very important to use beans that have minimal to no oils. It is a bit loud, but no louder then my standalone coffee bean grinder.

    Lasted for about 19 months then the automatic mechanism jammed up and won’t complete the cycle. Cleaned it every way possible but the electronics just sign off when I try to cycle it. Worked great till it failed. Didn’t use it but a few times a month when I wanted Americano or expresso instead of regular coffee. Should have been a more robust design for the price. It was a 10 till it broke, now it’s a boat anchor. Buy at your own risk.

    January 2025. I’m amending my review, unfortunately. $400 coffee machine, dead after 7 months. Very bummed about it. Purchased in March 2024. In September-October, the brew unit started leaking at the seams causing the grounds to get mucked up. I contacted customer support via email. It took 2 weeks to get a response. I explained the issues and asked for a replacement brew unit. They said no, I had to send the whole machine in. It took another week to receive a shipping label. After that, well, downhill from there. I sent it in. Another 10 days go by without any word. Finally, Dec. 3rd, get the machine back, put it on the counter, filled the water tank, pushed the brew button and it leaked all the water out the bottom of the machine. It didn’t even get any grounds into the puck/brew unit. Contacted support again, sent photos, they apologized and told me to send it back again. So I did. On Dec 20th they shipped it back for the second time. It was destroyed in shipping due to lack of packing material; literally, was banging around in the box. Contacted support again, sent photos unpacking it and out of the box completely wonky from damage. Six days later, support emails me with apologies, and offered to send a certified refurbished replacement machine (and, no, they wouldn’t give it a full year warranty, only what was left on my original machine which by now was down to 3 months). January 7th we got the refurbished machine, stoked to finally have a good cup of coffee. We got two decent cups out of it, then the water tank leaked the remainder of the water out the bottom of the machine. Contacted support right away/same day. It’s now Jan 21st, and no response. I even called into the support line, waited for over 30 mins, got told they’d call me back… nada. So, I’m updating my review to try to protect other consumers from the same loss. March 2024 Far better than the Phillips 3200. This Tchibo coffee maker is easy, quiet, and simply makes an excellent cup of coffee without all the fuss.

    I cannot believe I have been drinking bad coffee from kuerig machines & regular coffee pots my whole adult life. This machine blows them away. It is delish! The way a cup of coffee should be & in the super convenient automated machine. I am taking care to maintain per the instructions so we don’t end up w a gummed up machine like our last 3 kuerigs that konked out on us. I look forward to my coffee every day. This machine is easy to figure out and easy to maintain and works just the way it should. It’s a little on the big side so I couldn’t fit it in the nook where I have the kuerig.     I have no idea why this got mixed reviews. I consider it one of the best purchases I have made on coffeemakers.us.com. I have a lake cabin and also bought one to have there. It is delicious coffee, easy to maintain, and so much better than buying kcups or nespresso pods. Instead of sliding it in and out to add water, I simply reach back there and pour the water into the reservoir with a bottle. Simple. Highly recommend this machine! Enjoy!

    Love this machine. Hopefully, these are the missing details you need – I was concerned about the answers to these questions, but, with the exception of the small water tank, I am very, very happy Disclaimer: I only wanted a machine that made coffee without the waste of pods, not espresso. 1. Height: Yes, at 12.4 inches in height, it will probably fit under your kitchen cabinets. However, the absolute minimum you’ll need is just over 20 inches (and you’ll have to be extremely dexterous). Ideally you’d want 22 inches or more, because you will need to take the water tank out often (see pics). So either you need a spot with no cabinets, or, as another reviewer pointed out, you can buy the “Nifty medium appliance rolling tray”. This device allows you to slide the unit out very easily (by pressing down the button of the tray) to refill the water tank (which you will need to do often if you are buying this for “large coffee”). The nifty’s button gets covered by the drip tray of the Tchibo: voila! If you’re overly concerned with looks, then this tray may not be for you, but i definitely lean towards being an aesthete, and it looks fine to me (though i have just ordered the pure black one as the silver of the tray vs the chrome of the Tchibo is a bit bothersome!). I would not recommend buying this machine if you’re going to be bothered by the looks of the nifty tray AND you have to have it under a cabinet because, well, see #3. See photos for tank extraction and nifty appliance tray 2. Coffee size. I like my coffee black and want it to fill a regular mug, so I was wondering whether 8oz was enough liquid. At the end of the day, the size is just fine for a regular mug – I don’t feel as though I’m being short-changed 3. Water tank. This is laughably small and the most problematic issue. As above, I only use this machine for 8oz coffees. You could probably make three 8oz cups on one tank IF you make them all in a row. If you don’t, then the machine will send some water through for a self-clean after it has shut off after a few minutes. In this case, you can only make two 8oz cups before refilling, and, as others have pointed out, the machine will just stop midway. Why they include an optional expansion compartment for more coffee beans when the water tank makes less than 3 cups is one of life’s mysteries. For me, neither 1, nor 3, are problems. If you are ok with the looks of the nifty rolling tray (and presumably there are better lookers out there too), and you only make a couple of cups a day, then it is no problem to slide out the unit nightly to refill the water tank (obviously, if you’re an espresso drinker then the water will last a lot longer). What does the coffee taste like? It’s absolutely brilliant. Foam, and everything. All-in-all there are a few foibles, but as I wrote at the start, I am very, very happy!

    This had all the features we were looking for but the ability to hook to water supply. When we received we were surprised how small the tank is, needed to refill after 4 cups. Plus had to move the machine out from under the cabinet to get the tank out. We ordered the kit to connect to a water supply from PureSec on coffeemakers.us.com. Installed it without using the float just the supply valve, so far no problems. We have figured out it takes 15 seconds to fill the container since you can’t see it when it is installed in the maker.

    Coffee and weak espresso lovers will thoroughly enjoy this machine, it will definitely save you money in the long run from coffee shops or pods. With that being said if you are a true diehard strong espresso lover, this does not meet expectations. If I wanted just a strong cup of black coffee I would keep it but even doing the boost still doesn’t give it the same bold espresso taste that I’m looking for. I wanted a no frills fully automatic REAL espresso machine with grinder that I wouldn’t need to tamp but this unfortunately doesn’t meet the same standards as a Nespresso, there are no bars of pressure. I generally enjoy my espresso shaken with ice and a dash of creamer and it unfortunately this tastes like extremely watered down iced coffee. I even let it sit for a while to cool off before adding to ice and that didn’t help either. Another thing to note is if you like it really really strong like me, you cannot use espresso beans or any super dark oily/sugary beans as you will ruin the machine. I tested with Peet’s Major Dickason’s blend as another reviewer suggested for Nespresso drinkers, I also put the grind on finest it could go and I did the boost button for “espresso”. I wanted so badly to love the machine but it is just a bean to brew coffee machine NOT espresso, I don’t understand why they advertise it as espresso when you cannot use espresso beans. I do want to say anyone interested in the red color, it’s gorgeous, it’s a beautiful wine color with a little bit of purple hue. If you are buying for strictly coffee buy this machine but do not buy this if you are trying to get a true strong espresso, it will be a let down. I just wanted to get away from the pods completely but I’ll be going back to my Nespresso machine.

    Wanted to find a bean to coffee machine. I did a bit of research and ended up with this one. It’s a slim design and looks nice on the counter. Very simple to set up. Fill the water, fill the beans and you have a fresh brew! The only issue I have is that the water canister is on the back and you bump into the cabinet when trying to remove it. I’m looking into small rollers to put on the bottom so I can swing it sideways to get to the water canister. I also got the matching milk frother which I love. I didn’t want a machine with the frother because those tend to be hard to clean and often stop working. The coffee taste great and I use the grounds in my garden. It’s a win-win!!
