   This makes great coffee, similar to a french press but much easier to clean and maintain. Drop the coffee in the basket, put in boiling water. The secret to great coffee is water temperature. Boil then let rest for 45 seconds so the water settles to about 200 degrees. Let it sit for 4 minutes. THen just place on top of your mug and a valve releases and the coffee is extracted into your cup. Rinse clean when done. it is that easy. There are other pour through brewers but this is different. The others depend on you slowly pour the water through and end up with nasty weak coffee. Also works for loose tea. Coffee is as good as a $400 dollar technovorm machine. (except it is only one mug at a time.)

   The idea of this is great especially if you like a strong cup of coffee! However the filter once you start to pour H2O in sinks down in and folds over leaving a mess of grinds in the coffee water. I’ve taken to wetting the filter slightly and trying to push and flattening it to where it should sit. Also once the filter sits where it’s supposed to you can’t fill it up higher than filter. I’ve tried both sizes to no avail. I personally think it’s the shape that is off.
   I haven’t used it for tea yet but probably will this winter.

   Attractive, Nicely made, Smallish for coffee lover, and the shape & size doesn’t work with paper filters, so clean up is not as easy. Minimal leak from the valve.

   I have to use low acid coffee. I hate the one-serve pod idea. This works great! Added paper cone filter makes clean up a snap. My french press was a mess. Using a quick boil water pot, this was faster than my roommate’s one-cup coffee pot. And it tastes better. Love it!

   I use it every day. So easy for a quick cup. Easy to clean. Will take it camping too. So much better than a kurig in my opinion. Even though it is made of plastic it feels solid, it will last a long time.

   If you like a fresh cup every time this is the maker you want. Easy to use and clean, works with most standard sized mugs. Very well designed and not stupid expensive to replace when/if it ever wears out.

   If I could give this zero stars I would. I am a very experienced coffee person, have used multiple immersion brewers in the past, and this one is horrible.

   Reason: the filter is supposed to allow the coffee to quickly gravity feed out the bottom. Even when I have my burr grinder on the biggest setting, the coffee still flows slowly (it takes over a minute to drain), which results in a weak tasting coffee.

   When I set the grind to one that results in good tasting coffee, it takes 2-3 minutes to drain, while repeatedly swirling the grounds blocking the flow of coffee.
