   I kinda feel like I’ve been had, just by how cheap it feels and how little it’s actually doing. Really, all that this is doing is rotating a basket of water with three small holes in it for 5 minutes then turns off. The rest is up to the user. The coffee container (that the coffee dumps into) holds the plastic filter container in it’s neck area, and will only hold 1 ½ cups of water (~350ml) when filled right to the filter baskets bottom. (Right about the rubber neck protector bottom edge). The coffee container has 1 and 2 cup markings on it below that, however the 2 cup marking I measured and is 1 cup in a measuring cup. The top water basket has a “steam” marking (for blooming of coffee), 1 and 2 cup markings as well above it, with 3 small holes in the bottom that drip/fine drain water out as the rim around the basket rotates.

   It’s not worth the price, seriously. It’s pretty, but the only thing not plastic is the coffee container and the only thing the batteries are doing is rotating a rim at the top slowly for 5 mins or until you press the power button. (Which glows blue by battery as well)

   Oh well, this happens….

   I love this coffee maker but I have to have two mugs of coffee in the AM. I can give it an excellent review because it addresses the problem with most pour-over coffee makers- the water not saturating the grounds evenly. This machine has an electric rotating water dispersal system that solves that problem and it does it superbly. I still use it when I do not have to leave a mug full for my sister-in-law. If you want a perfect large mug of coffee for yourself, this is the perfect coffee maker. I do not like paper filters so I bought a flexible stainless steel filter and cut it down to size. Dunkin Donut dark roast goes perfectly with it. I wish they would make a larger machine.

   I got this because I love Americano coffee (let’s face it, I just love coffee). Anyway, the pictures don’t quite show how nice this really is. It comes packaged very well, and the major pieces are glass, including the filter. It comes with a few filters and a coffee scoop that has a ‘snap’ attachment that you can use to seal coffee afterward and keep track of the scoop at the same time. It’s very easy to use and the coffee is wonderful. Highly recommended for coffee drinkers out there!

   This item shipped in very sturdy packaging and the shelf box would be very presentable as a gift. The device is smaller than I thought it would be but I suppose that’s standard for pour over coffee makers. This is my first pour over coffee machine and while it made a beautiful and delicious cup of coffee, I can tell this isn’t something I’ll use long term. That’s more about me than about this machine which was very easy to set up and to use. Having a kettle sitting around filled with hot water at a constant 200 degrees is highly recommended if you plan on making more than one cup of coffee at a time. I like french press coffee makers because I tend to drink my first cup of coffee fairly quickly and then savor my second cup. The french press I use makes that amount for me so it’s a one time job. This Shine pour over coffee maker makes one cup of coffee. The directions say that it makes one or two, but that would be if your coffee cup held only 5 ounces of coffee. Maybe on a Saturday or Sunday morning I have the time to make one cup of coffee at a time, but in reality I prefer a bit more volume. That’s all personal preference, of course, because again, this made a delicious cup of coffee! Hence my 5 star rating. So if pour over is your thing, this Shine coffee maker will fit the bill perfectly.

   The Shine is simply perfect for my needs. Easy to use. Makes great coffee and is a great time savor. My only issue is with my carafe. There is an air bubble on the bottom of the carafe that unfortunately looks like it could pop at any moment either on its own or with the slightest bump. My fear is that one day I’m going to make coffee and end up cleaning up a mess. I’d buy again but would want to be assured I’d have a safe carafe.

    It is a good poor over item. The carafe broke when I picked it up while taking it out of the dishwasher. So note it is delicate. Again it makes a good pour over coffee.

    I really wanted to love this, but I’m not 100% sold. First of, this machine looks absolutely amazing. It seems very sturdy, and the hard plastic and wood finishes make it look very expensive. It’s also neat that its battery operated (batteries not included) – so very much travel friendly. The con I found with this machine is that it recommends that you put lukewarm water in to make the pour over- which I guess is necessary because the machine is mostly a plastic material. This is concerning to me if I want to drink my coffee right away because it’ll come out the same temperature as you put it in. Usually when I make a pour-over its with very hot water, and my coffee is ready to drink once finished so that’s the only downside to using this machine. The huge pro of this machine is that it does create the pour over very quickly which is great and what I was looking for, but I do wish I could put very hot water through it without the possibility of damaging it.

    I’ve always wanted a drip coffee maker and the wood grain effect on this one makes it perfect for me. It’s an aesthetically pleasing little thing, but also extremely easy to use—even if you haven’t ever used a drop maker before. Included are instructions and a few filters to get you started. The wood grain effect is actually plastic and the parts other than the carafe that look like they could be glass are also plastic. My only complaint is that the brand name wasn’t on multiple parts of it, though that has no effect on how it works.

    I usually use my Nespresso machine (highly recommend!), but OCCASIONALLY, I want a cup of drip coffee. And, nothing seems to make a great cup of coffee except the French Press which makes too much for me. So, I got this. And, I think I must not have really understood what I was getting, because I expected something a little bit different. This is a pour over machine. But, it improves the quality of the pour-overs I make. Mine are horrible, and the coffee from this is DELICIOUS. I don’t know why! The only differences is that the water comes out slowly and swirls. I can wait for my own coffee to “bloom” before pouring the rest of the water, so that’s not very different. It has to be how the water pours over. Anyways, it’s fantastic. And, it is portable, as long as you have access to boiled water– this does NOT heat up your water. It works with water you’ve already heated. Plus, it’s really a nice-looking machine. Take three batteries to control the water pour.
