   I can’t live without coffee, especially when I camp a lot with my 3 little boys. I needed an easy way to make camp coffee that had was cleanup. Prior to this I was using a French press…it was not the easiest to get the grounds out of when your in the middle of nowhere. I was hoping this would be easier to clean being that the shot was so compressed, and it looked like I could easily take it out. First thing I loved was that the coffee came out strong and tasted great. Second, it was not that hard to pump and put together. and 3rd, the clean up… The grounds did come out easier than my French press, the only reason I gave it a 4 out of 5 was all the pieces that go into it and need to be cleaned. That is the only downside to it. If you have the time and are not worried about clean up this is a great way to get an amazing shot of espresso! When I am not having to chase after 3 little kids, or when our power has been out at home this is my go to for sure. Would totally purchase again.

   I love this little machine so much. I bought this to save money on lattes and it tastes just as good as any coffee shop. It has great body and core and the crema on top is picture perfect. I was saving up for a $500+ espresso machine but I might spend it on something else now as I am satisfied with this. I am so happy with this I actually enjoy my mornings and even look forward to waking up and drinking a double shot espresso or a latte before I start the day. I recommend to buy the barista kit for the extra baskets and the ability to make a double shot latte quickly. I don’t own the nespresso adapter as I like freshly grinding my beans so I can’t comment on that attachment. Anyone who likes espresso I would reccomend and definitely over cheaper espresso machines. The only people I wouldnt reccomend are people who don’t want to be hands on in the espresso making process or if you have arthritis in your hands.

   I’m a coffee snob and have several single-serve mobile brewing contraptions. That said, I’m very impressed with the Nanopresso. It certainly doesn’t pull a shot like a nice La Marzocco or Rocket, but I didn’t expect it would. I take my mobile coffee brewing equipment on long bicycle rides and hiking, and for those purposes, the Nanopresso pulls an impressive shot! I’ve been particularly impressed with the crema it produces. One caution…be careful with your tamp…tamp too hard and it doesn’t work very well.

    First things first: realistic expectations. It’s a small handheld espresso maker for under $100. While it does produce a pretty darn good shot, there’s a reason real espresso machines for home use, or professional ones for coffee shops, can cost hundreds or even thousands of dollars. While still very enjoyable, don’t expect it to rival an espresso shot from your favorite coffee shop. Overall I am pleased with this device so far. Build and aesthetics: I think it looks pretty sleek (as seen in the photos I went with the orange) and though it is made of plastic it is thick plastic and feels to be of pretty sturdy construction. The included cup fits on snugly and it is easy to use with or without the cup detached if you don’t want to use it at home. The instruction manual is in multiple languages and has clear and easy to understand usage and cleaning directions. It also included a coffee scoop, a cleaning brush, and a bag. Usage: It is a pretty simple design and easy to use. Ground coffee beans in the basket in one end, hot water in the other, pump it through to make espresso. The pump doesn’t take too much force and is easy to use. My Nanopresso does make a slight squeaking noise sometimes when I pump it however. Clean-up: As you can see in the image, it comes apart pretty thoroughly and easily. The company recommends cleaning the nozzle by unscrewing it from the filter unit once every 20 uses or so and actually opening the filter unit to clean once every six months or after 100 shots or so (neither of those have been done in my picture). My only qualm is there usually seems to be some residual water left in the center chamber (where the pump is) even after being left open for a day to dry – I’m not sure how to remove that and dry it out completely other than leaving it disassembled for a very long period of time. That is the main reason for four stars. Espresso: I find it produces a pretty rich and nice tasting shot of espresso. I enjoy drinking it straight or adding some heated and frothed milk to make a latte or cappuccino. For the price quality of the drink hits a home run. As far as longevity, I have only been using it for a week so far, so that remains to be determined.

    I have been buying two lattes at Starbucks daily. Recently I have really wanted to find an alternative due to the cost but of almost $10/day. However I cannot use an espresso machine in the office with all the noise associated. This makes no noise and noise s so small it’s perfect. I started using it in the office kitchen but now I just use it at my desk. I also have a milk froth machine I purchased in coffeemakers.us.com as well. This machine is easy to pump, really simple to clean and seems really well made. I purchased the one with the case for the extra $20. Was great but only lasted 2 months. The unit seems to be losing pressure now and is much easier to press so I fear it will soon be dead. Update: it stopped working after about 10 uses. I was really upset until I found in the instructions to remove the mesh filter with Allen wrench and clean. I did this and ran boiling hot water through it. Works great again.

    Easily 5/5 stars. Considering you are buying a handheld/portable device and not a dedicated espresso maker, I don’t see how you could be disappointed. Perfectly velvety, and good crema. The included scoop acts as a nice tamp for the coffee too.

    Unfortunately the plastic used for this item is very brittle. After a few months of use it became increasingly hard to pump the espresso and then the casing cracked through causing an issue with pressure in the machine. Now, due to the crack and pressure issue espresso back flushes into the water tank while trying to use the item.

    The pump piston popped out after a year of light usage. That was about ~4-5 shots/week, never left the house with it and cleaned it religiously after each use. Looking at the piston, there are two lugs that hold it in place, but the lugs are just tiny bumps molded into the plastic of the piston. One of the lugs broke and there is no way that I can see to fix it on my own. I’m frankly quite surprised that it has lasted even this long. Customer support was contacted with a detailed account of what happened and a photo of the issue. It’s been over a month and there has been no response (better no news than bad news?). I have to admit that while the thing still worked, it made pretty decent coffee. However, I don’t think the coffee is so good that I’m going to buy a replacement annually. Time to move on to a more serious (and durable) solution.

    Pleasantly surprised! I bought this from the manufacturer direct. I was a little apprehensive going in. I have fallen in love with this thing. So easy. I debated buying a $1100+ espresso machine and figured I would try this first. I use a dry espresso roast ground almost as fine as my breville grinder will do. Cycle a preheat pass through the Nanopresso, then an extraction cycle, it is quick an pretty efficient considering. For the price this is hands down an awesome device. Not sure what the 1 stars reviewers are complaining about?
