   Update: Fantastic customer service. Even though the returned window had expired, customer service gave me the option of a replacement or full refund! I am so grateful. They are a family owned business who truly care about the customers while offering quality products! I am so disappointed, I loved this brewing jar. I would make a gallon of tea and keep in the refrigerator. I was on my third gallon when the leak began. Assuming it was the spigot, I ordered a replacement. The spigot arrived today. When I removed the original spigot, the entire glass rim came out as though it were a part of the spigot. See photo above.    We really loved this coffee maker to make our iced tea. In under a month it developed a spontaneous stress crack where the glass was drilled for the spigot and spilled a gallon of tea in the refrigerator.I contacted coffeemakers.us.com customer support to request a replacement but all they would order was a refund after I ship the item back to them. Since we live in a rural area it will be a 60 mile round trip to the nearest ups store. With the price of fuel that’s a major inconvenience. I was contacted by the seller who is making everything right. Reading other reviews I see only a very small percentage of units where a stress crack developed near the spigot which is the nature of any glass item. Looking forward to our cold brew iced tea again.

   Absolutely love this dang thing! My husband and I only drink cold coffee. We used to rely on a cold brew machine that pumped water over the grounds, and it took 45 minutes to produce 6 cups of coffee. Since my husband works 6 days a week, and drinks at least 32 oz a morning, it became daunting to spend an entire day to make 2 gallons to put into a pitcher in the fridge every couple of days. Now it takes me about 3 minutes to provide enough for a couple of days using this glass fridge jug. I’ll let you a know a bit of a secret. It was a HUGE trial and error for me to figure out exactly how to use this…if yall already know this, then carry on…. 1).The filter in this will NOT support fine ground coffee (preground from most places). You need a course ground or whole bean. Other wise, you will get grit in your cup. There are things like tea bags you can use, but I found it a pain to have to order them since I live in a smallish town, and I couldn’t find empty bags anywhere. Plus I wanted to save myself from another expense. 2). If you do use whole beans, it’s an entire new world of art to get a decent strength of coffee from, and it took me like 3 days to obtain that. I may have done it wrong, but I was over with experiments by this time. 3). I priced coarse ground coffee, and it’s more expensive than whole bean or fine ground. Ridiculous! So what I did was find that I can quick grind whole bean on my own (takes about 30 seconds) and I use 18oz of whole beans, grind them in a small food processor (this way I can do a lot at once and not a small amount), then scoop it into the filter, fill with cold water, and fridge it over night. It’s ready by the early AM! Plus I would recommend only cleaning this with cold water, by hand (soap of course). It’s glass and sits in a fridge most of its life. I read a lot of reviews that people’s cracked easily, and I’m wondering if it was due to water temp differences. Mine hasn’t cracked or faltered in anyway. Hope this helps!

    I was skeptical about this jar upon ordering it. We wanted a glass jar to make iced tea in and be able to open the fridge door and dispense a tasty beverage. The spout is a metal spout with quality O-Rings to prevent leaks. The glass is thick and I’m not worried about it cracking if something were to bump into it. The infuser is metal with a very fine mesh. We use loose leaf tea and we don’t have a problem with loose tea showing up in our glass. The infuser is also large to accommodate cucumber or fruits to make flavored water. When it arrived, the metal lid was cross threaded, but that was the only problem we encountered. I am extremely pleased with the quality of this jar. If any problems do arise, I will revise my review. Yes I recommend this product.

    Started making my own because I didn’t care for the bitterness the concentrates had, and it was just getting too pricey. I chose this one due to the size… I do love my cold brew! It does fit perfect on the shelf in the fridge as well. It does feel like I’m going through a lot of coffee following the included recipe, but I can’t deny it tastes great. I also have found you need to pay attention to the faucet, it does drip a drop or two after you close the valve. I love how quick and easy it is to clean, the filter especially.     This is a GREAT product! I used to LIVE on coffee but I have a heart murmur and too much caffeine is actually one of my migraine triggers so I’ve had to cut most caffeine sources out of my deit. I always loved the smooth taste of cold brew and loved how much longer it lasted before it got bitter but decaf or half caf cold brew isn’t a thing in stores or coffee shops. So when I want myself a little coffee treat I allow myself a small one from the coffee shop here and there.     Life changing product ! If you’re reading this and you are a Starbucks regular and you are getting cold brew everyday, this is definitely for you. I was skeptical at first, but I decided to try it because that daily 4-5$ cup of cold brew was getting costly. It’s very simple and easy to use.     Purchase this in September used it weekly after about 4 months it had a crack but was still able to use it and tonight after cleaning it it completely cracked out the bottom I’m a little ticked $50 out the window and no refund I understand it’s been four months but I thought it would last a bit longer!     The filter drips for a while when pulling out, I tilt it on its side for a while before removing. Because of the length of the filter it’s not the easiest to clean. The spicket sometimes drips and others it doesn’t not sure why. I think this is over priced for what you get. It yeilds alot of coffee at once so make sure you have 4 or more people that drink it. I used Dunkin donuts ground coffee and there is a lot of fine grounds at bottom so use a larger grind bean. If you zoom or look close at 2nd picture you can see a lighter color at bottom that’s the loose grounds.

    This is exactly as stated. It is made of glass and stainless steel, except the lid which is two parts plastic. The valve is steel, not plastic.

    The filter washes easily with just running water from the sink.

    I used just normal grind coffee grounds that would be used in a typical coffee maker. No special grind, however it does recommend course grind. I’m simply stating that regular grind worked as well.

    This product is also guaranteed for life, which seems unfair to the manufacturer as it is glass and would break if dropped.

    I have used this with coffee from Aldi and some nut milk and after 24 hours brewing time the flavour was rich and mellow and the nicest cold coffee I have had in a very long time. The capacity was about 3.5L so that is a lot of coffee and after seeing all sorts of different recommendations for coffee to water ratio, I just added the whole 227gm bag of regular ground coffee. So I that makes a ratio of close enough to 15:1 by weight. It is well made and very easy to clean. Highly recommended

    I’ve purchased three of these. The first one I had for several years and loved. I used it daily and it never had issues. Unfortunately, I accidentally dropped it. No, I’m not leaving a bad review because of my clumsiness. My issue is that the replacement I bought cracked and spilled coffee in my refrigerator less than a month after buying it. I returned it and thought I’d double check the replacement before even assembling it. Sure enough, there’s a big crack along the bottom right where the previous one broke. It would only be a matter of time before this one ended up like the last one. Unfortunately, it appears the quality checks have gone downhill since the first one I bought years ago. Fool me once… I’m afraid I’ll have to give up on this brand and try another.

    We absolutely love this for cold brew! It is easy to use and have in the fridge. Only thing I would recommend is filtering it though a normal filter as well as the one in the jar. Also do not lift by the lid, that becomes weak and will pop off if done too often causing a large mess!

    One great thing is you can use it for cold brew but also drinks but the issue with other drinks is that there’s a filter before it comes out of the spout so if the drink has settlements- it will clog it. I made a cocktail with guava necter and the juice itself is thicker and so it didn’t work very well. Otherwise with clear liquids this is amazing. The options are wide from fruit infused water, tea, and coffee. It’s super nice and I love the glass. Comes with a brush to help you clean it. I honestly love this and recommend it!

    Hi, my name is “Jon” and I’m a Teaholic. I drink iced tea almost exclusively and, for the past 30 years, or so, have been using a Mr. Coffee Iced Tea maker. Not the same one, of course, but have purchased multiple over the years. It worked fine for iced tea, but I’ve been on a mission to get rid of all plastics as far as heating and storing food. This 1 gallon tea/coffee maker is a perfect replacement. It makes and holds a full quart more than the 3 qt. iced tea makers, doesn’t stain so it’s easy to clean, and the spigot makes it ultra convenient to dispense without having to take it out of the fridge. I get very hot water right from the tap and have no problems adding that right to the glass pitcher BUT I’m very careful not to do this while the pitcher is cold to avoid cracking the glass. If the pitcher is still cold from the fridge, I simply fill it with some luke-warm water and swirl it around to help bring up the temperature of the glass before refilling with hot water. Next, the cap/top needs to be a little loose to allow airflow into the container or the coffee/tea will not flow correctly from the spigot. It’s a little on the pricey side when you consider it’s just a large mason jar with a filter and spigot, but it’s ideal if you like cold brew and/or drink a lot of iced coffee or tea.

It’s still new to me and not as easy to use as my previous one – I have to measure the coffee and water to get the same taste I’m used to.     This is an amazing product made from quality materials. I’ve bought several products trying to find something like this only to be disappointed. The price seemed high until I got it and now I feel it’s definitely worth it. The metal spigot is a feature that I have been looking for and have not found. The glass is ver strong I am attest to. While washing it I lost my grip and it hit my metal sink with dishes in it as if I had thrown it. There was not a single chip or crack. I bought 3 so I could keep cold brew, herbal tea, and caffeinated tea, on hand all the time. I was worried about the investment but I’m so glad I did it. I have already started recommending them to people! 100% satisfied but I will add this is the 1st use so I can’t speak to how it holds up with time.

    Bought this to make it easier to make cold brew coffee for my wife and myself. We use Community Coffee medium roast, and fill the entire stainless steel filter in the center. I use some hot water to get a deeper extraction then follow up with cold to fill the entire container. As you pour water into the strainer with the grounds, they swell and slow down the water. So, it takes a while to get the entire container filled. I put it in the refigerator and the next morning have great tasting coffee. You can make less than a full container by measuring the water and number of scoops needed for less than a full container. The last 16 oz require tilting the container to get it out of the top since the spigot at the bottom does not allow you to fully drain the container.

    I have bought this twice. The first time, I happily made cold brew coffee twice per week for years. Cleaning the filter was easy. Cleaning the jar suitably in between brews was also simple. The size and quality was satisfactory to me. One day, it developed a small crack which expanded and rendered the coffee maker useless.

    I bought a second coffee maker after the first one shattered. This time, it only lasted 3 months of usage. I have no idea why it cracked last time or this time, but after 2 incidents of breakage without any visible explanation, I think I am done with this product and company.

    I love this cold brew system! I really like the pretty glass carafe and the brushed metal. This cold brew system makes excellent iced coffee! I use really good ground coffee in it, to get the strong exspresso flavor. It is extremely easy to use and clean between uses. I have also learned that you need to fill the coffee grounds only about half way in the center filter, or they won’t get wet. I also found that in order to get stronger coffee, it really needs to steep 10-12 hours. At first I thought it would not make enough cold brew, but after 4 cold brew cycles we now have enough cold brew coffee to fill another pitcher. In 2 more cycles, the cold brew coffee system will have paid for itself. I wished I had purchased it sooner with all of the money we will be saving from buying Starbuck’s.

    Don’t really like hot coffee, to bitter, but cold brewed coffee is just heaven to me. Just received this and am in love with it. I was anxious to receive this so I made some in a mason jar with just coffee grounds and water last night. When this came today, (1 day shipping), I poured the mixture into the coffee maker, waited for it to drain and had myself a cup of cold brewed coffee. When this pot is done, I will try it from scratch. I do have to learn the ratio of coffee grounds to water and I also have to use decaf unfortunately. I may have to try it with tea just to see if I can rid of the bitter taste also. The filter was easy to clean out. I use a veggie brush on the outside of the filter to get any stuck grounds out of the inside and rinse well. With the filter being stainless steel I feel it will last for a very long time. The carafe seems well made and durable and I love the black rubber bottom, that little piece will probably save me from any bumps that might happen when putting from fridge to countertop. I will update with any new information as I use it, but so far I highly recommend this for cold brew coffee.

    I’m going to start by stating that I have 4 of these cold brewers. The first 3 are awesome, albeit not shock or shatter-proof as one broke, leading me to purchase my fourth. It arrived and usually they come with a black gripper that fits around the bottom so it doesn’t slide around (much needed and very helpful!) but this one didn’t. Instead it came with some sort of wooden sign that hangs around the neck, very unnecessary. I’ll trade it for the gripper…I’m begging here. It also appears to be smaller, even the mesh filter insert is smaller. I’ve added a picture showing how the fourth is different. The filter is worth the price as it’s great quality and the grounds don’t get through at all and that’s important. These were all purchased this year and all the boxes were the same style/design, but the most recent may have been smaller. I’m going to compare the size of the containers when I get them back from my coffee house. They’re very easy to use and seal well. So well that it creates a vapor lock and you do have to loosen the lid to dispense the cold brew. The flavor of your cold brew will depend on the quality of beans you use, but the filter won’t allow and grounds, so that’s a plus. I gave these 4 stars because of the inconsistent sizing and missing the gripper sleeve because that is thing is a necessity. I’d give 4.5 if coffeemakers.us.com allowed.

    Follow up a year later- still works amazing and works as it did in the beginning. You do have to tilt it when you get to the bottom though and I do have to catch a couple of drops after I close the spigot. Still find it to be a great purchase a year later. Makes great brew 😍 Works great. Fits fine ( I was worried it would be too tall but it fits a standard fridge and you could always raise or lower a shelf if so). I use 2.5 cups of coffee grounds and fill up with water. It’s more of a concentrate at that point so I use 4-8 oz and I’ll add milk, cream, and ice to my liking for dilution. Easy to clean and makes good cold brew.

    The glass jar itself is great! Doesn’t leak at the nozzle, very sturdy BUT THE LID is so cheap and flimsy it caught the filter on the inside and is now stuck . The filter inside gets wobbly once you fill with water and leans to the sides making it hard to screw the lid closed . Tried to close to the lid and it caught the filter and is now jammed ! Tried all sorts of ways to open or even looses the lid but we realized we started to dent the lid and stopped . Really excited for this but now I’m frustrated and realized the only way to open the lid is to damage it .
