This pour over is amazing and super chic. It makes fantastic coffee and it’s pretty easy gauge coffee strength preference (intuitive measurements after first use). I love that I can carry the set over to my desk and sip to enjoy rather than having to pour a full cup and drinking stat while it’s still perfect to our tastebuds liking. So happy with my purchase, highly recommend for the chic and single households ; )
Perfection out of the box marred by a problem at month 1. The charcoal water filter installed with no issue. However, today when filling water...the lid would not fully close. I could see the plastic holder for the charcoal pod was floating and preventing the lid from closing. If I held it in place with one hand and closed the lid ever so gently, the lid stayed closed. There is no snug fit, click or lock in place once the pod holder is in place. When I fill the coffee maker (on the opposite side) the pod floats once the maker is full. I hope to adjust the review, but am having to contact Cuisinart Support to attempt at a resolution. EDIT: a call to Cuisinart support was quickly taken and after providing SN and Model Number the person understood the issue and is sending me a new charcoal filter pod holder (the whole plastic "stick") Pictures show the area. Attaching a couple of ounces of brass or stainless steel (lead fishing weights would be a bad idea, but you get the idea) = would fix the float issue I'd REALLY like to see o-rings or a water tight seal as every coffee maker I had has "died" when a stray coffee ground or two gets in the very small opening seen in the first pic. I always use filtered water (Berkey) so it is not a calcium or "scale" build-up issue causing them to "die". I will provide edit #2 when the new part arrives and I try it out. EDIT #2: Conair is the parent company for Cuisinart and sent me a new part in about a week. It did fit much better and had no issue staying in place. I've had several dozen carafes of coffee since then and am happy with my purchase. Med temp (default for hotplate) is plenty hot for me. Hotplate surface is holding up and not flaking. I never take the lid off the carafe and just do a rinse and swish to clean (yes, I'm lazy). For the money, I am hard-pressed to find anything better. Better than reasonable, really good.
I got this single cup coffee brewer for work, where we have bags and bags of ground coffee and someone keeps tossing the refillable Keurig filter. I got this because most people can easily use a coffee brewer, and I don't have all of my home coffee equipment at the office. This has a reusable mesh filter that just needs to be rinsed with water. It comes with a measuring spoon. I use 1 scoop for each 4 oz of coffee and I make a 12 oz cup (3 scoops). The coffee turns out ok if you agitated the grounds a bit/move the spout where the water drips from, otherwise you will get an uneven saturation of the bed. Of course the quality of your grounds does matter, and I prefer grinding mine fresh. I use the same grind that is use for pour overs. I use the included cup to measure the water but I haven't used it to drink out of because I have a coffee cup I prefer. My 12 oz cup fits nicely. Simply add your water and grounds, press the on button, and wait. Unit shuts off when water is empty. Versus a Keurig this is much better, and cheaper, with less waste. If you're looking for a budget 1 cup brewer that will make decent coffee using quality grounds, this little guy is a good option.
This product really makes me confused for days. Just as the picture which was took after my 5th clean, you could always wipe out this sort of stain from anywhere inside the coffee maker. I tried to clean it with water, boiled water, dish soap, dish soap+boiled water, bar keeper. And as the seller suggested, I also tried to clean it with vinegar+boiled water, and lemon juice+boiled water. Within the recent days, I've cleaned this coffee maker about 10 times, but the stain still come from nowhere, and I see no difference with the picture after my 5th clean. Also, the coffee I made by this coffee maker doesn't taste good as well. After the 1st and 2nd clean, the coffee taste like metal. And after my 10th clean, the coffee doesn't have the taste which it should have by comparing with the coffee made by my french press. So confused, but I don't know if it's because of the stain. The last point, the glass handle splits at my 2nd use, not sure if this also happen to others. But it seems you can't tighten it to the cover, you have to make it a little bit loose. All in all, it makes me disappointed, and wasted a lot of time and energy. Just gonna return it, since the stain looks would cause some health issue.
This fits nicely on your standard 11 oz mug. The small cone shaped filters fit in it and it worked well to make a pour over coffee. The price was nice too, compared to other similar products. Its ceramic and you can easily wash by hand or put in the dishwasher.
Bought this a little over 4 years ago, and it's been sort of OK. I like the separate, removable container for water. But the carafe drips, so we have to pour over the sink and wipe off coffee that drips down the carafe. Worse, though, is that the clock has been failing one LED at a time for a couple of years now. It's now at the point where not only can I not tell what time it is or what the delayed brew is set for, but I can't even set it anymore. I used to be able to unplug it and start from what I knew was 12:00 AM. Now, there aren't enough LEDs left to get me to the correct time. And it also seems to have suddenly and randomly started resetting the time and program. If all you want to do brew on demand, never programming to have the coffee ready when you wake up, it may be OK...as long as you're also willing to have a carafe that drips when you pour.
Arrived on time and in great condition. Very reasonable price and works great! Love the option to make brew strength strong or regular! Easy to clean too!
This coffee maker is great quality AND looks nice. Easy to use and has great flavor. I am a coffee addict and have used my fair share of contraptions. No complaints here!
Great coffee machine. I like the best is the it come with coffee pod so I can put own coffee and tea, and even my Nepresso pod. Capacities is ok, I like large coffee and it has 10 oz size as biggest. Very easy to use and size is good fit to kitchen
I’m in love with this! I can make hot or cold beverages, and it’s really perfect. The variety of the K-cups is the best reason why I switched from Nespresso Pods, and obviously, the price. The coffee tastes delicious! The gray color is perfect for my kitchen. It has multiple sizes, so it’s perfect for every cup. It doesn’t make any noise and is easy to use!!! PERFECT!!!!
I am so disappointed with this coffee maker. When I first received it, I thought it would be perfect! Love the retro look & light green color, but I was mistaken. It is extremely hard to fill the reservoir due to the lid not opening completely. Plus the carafe handle was falling off. I called the SMEG store - only to wait over a week for someone to return my call. They did send me a new carafe & the customer service rep told me he bought one for his mother, & it did the same thing by not opening all the way to put the water in. So, since I really loved the retro look & pastel green color, (plus, the SMEG name was synonymous with quality; or so I thought), I figured it wasn't too bad to deal with. I purchased the in May of 2021. It is now Aug. 2022 & it has completely stopped working. I even tried to descale it - although I had just done that 2 weeks prior. Well, it wouldn't even descale. $225 down the drain. So upset.
Love the colors, but unfortunately mine had no internal measuring lines as pictured by another reviewer which won't work for me as I'd like to see how much water I add depending on how many mugs of coffee I want to make. Additionally, this also had a crack on the finish as pictured. Returning.
EDIT: So 9 months in and this coffee maker stopped working. It now just makes a lot of noise and a few dribbles of water. I don't recommend this if you're expecting it to last very long. This is fine, although the "Large" cup is not all that large. The small is tiny. Pros: It seems to work well, and I like having the ability to connect it to plumbing. It does come with a nice loose coffee filter with replacement paper filters in addition to the screened basket. It also has a front-facing tank-fill height indicator. Cons: The cup sizes could be better. The small is tiny, the Large is basically just a full ordinary coffee cup. It would be nice if large was more for using with travel mugs and large coffee cups. Finally, it does drip for several seconds after it "finishes", so wait a bit before removing the cup.
This was very easy to use and perfect for single person use. It’s small enough for an apartment or your work desk. You can use a kcup or coffee grounds in here. The things I didn’t like about it were that it is very noisy, very slow, and will only fit a coffee cup and not my small coffee tumbler that I like to use with my keurig machine. But it works great. I would recommend it.
In less than 2 months, the top rim of the filter developed a strange film imbedded between the 2 layers of mesh. I washed it everyday with a firm dish brush - but could not remove that film. Glass pot is fine. I bought another filter.
