Within a week or two after purchasing this French press, coffee maker, I noticed when I was filling with hot water bubbles were appearing at the top edge of my coffee pot, and certainly the pot on the exterior became instantly very hot. Obviously my supposedly insulated double wall coffee pot did not hold up. Hot water was able to enter into the the airspace between the two stainless steel pots that should have been maintaining temperature inside. My pot does not keep my coffee warm and I am most disappointed with this stainless steel coffee pot. Barely equals one star

My first French Press escaped my grip and spread glass shards all over the kitchen floor. I bought another similar one from coffeemakers.us.com but returned it because it could not manage to fill two mugs in spite of claiming to be an 8 cup press. Also, the brew cooled quickly, so the second mug was always cold. This one is all stainless. It may dent, but it won’t shatter. It is two layers of stainless for insulation, so if it does dent, it probably will not impair the plunger’s descent. It holds the heat reasonably well, and I suppose it could be set right on the stove at a low heat to inhibit heat loss. I had ordered a Chinese all stainless percolator from coffeemakers.us.com that was leaching something into the coffee, so i was suspicious of this, but the leaching of the other metal was not apparent in this. I was hesitant about the mesh size not keeping grounds out, but just using regular grocery grounds instead of coarse did not contaminate my brew with grit. The handle is also stainless steel, but does not get hot. I am well pleased!
