   My beloved Oneida 4-cup percolator died after 12 years of faithful service. Since I’m the only coffee drinker in the house and I only drink one 10 oz cup (2 “cups” from the Oneida) per day, this little guy seemed like a promising replacement. I found that it required a slightly coarser grind than the Oneida and consequently a bit higher coffee to water ratio, but once I got that dialed in, it makes good, rich, hot coffee. It’s only flaws so far are that it doesn’t take a standard disc filter and it’s so quiet, I don’t hear it finish it’s cycle unless the kitchen is perfectly silent. On the other hand, it shuts off after the brew cycle which is nice. I’m not expecting 12 years of service.

   For people who are new to percolators, the brush that you need to clean the stem of the brew basket is sold as a brush for cleaning reusable straws nowadays. If your coffee is too weak, try a finer grind. If you’re getting coffee grounds in your coffee, try a slightly coarser grind.

   I bought this for a trip abroad; don’t like being dependent on pricey airport coffee or arriving at digs that don’t have a way to make good coffee quickly and efficiently.
   This little percolator is very well-made, though the lid had a subtle internal crack in it, I’m not returning the coffee maker because it makes such good coffee and the lid doesn’t leak even with the crack. I like that both the interior and filter are stainless, that I don’t need paper filters, that the lid is food-grade-safe, that’s there’s a cute little travel bag for the entire unit cord included, and I very much like that the cord is removeable. I also like how easy it was to program; normally I struggle with that sort of thing. I have to say, the directions were excellent, and even a little poetic describing the joys of making coffee suited to one’s tastes. There are two basic strengths you can make the coffee on. One of the modes is closer to ten minutes than six, but that’s okay. The coffee is surprisingly good; not swoon-worthy, though, which is why I didn’t give it five stars. Also, you have to be careful cleaning the interior so that water doesn’t get on the electrical parts on the exterior. Not a big deal, though. If you want to have very good coffee that you can make on the go, I recommend.

   This made the best cup of coffee that I have ever had! I guess I’m a bit of a snob when it comes to coffee but I just have to have a good cup of Joe in the morning and hotel coffee doesn’t make the cut. This little unit made the best cup of coffee that I’ve ever had. I’ve never had percolated coffee and will never go back to drip, pour over or Keurig. French press is still mighty nice though. The folks that made this little gem are real coffee lovers and made a great little device. It’s a compact and didn’t take up much room in my suitcase. If you love coffee and travel then buy this little gem.

   This is so cool and perfect for traveling or keeping at my desk. It is made of high-quality material, is easy to use, and clean. However, it produces only one SMALL cup of coffee or tea, so if you drink a lot of hot beverages, it may be too small for you. Be aware this requires high wattage just like a countertop model, so if using it in a travel van, RV or powering it with solar, be sure you have adequate output to operate and a pure signwave generator.

   This one cup coffee percolator works very well for me! It is small and lightweight. I can easily put it inside a drawer. It is easy to use. The outside of it does get hot when it completes the brewing cycle. So it comes with an orange silicon/rubber ring, which fits around the outside. Because of the ring, I can hold the percolator and avoid touching the hot surface. There is a maximum water line inside the percolator, so make sure not to overfill water. I usually select the “coffee 02” mode, and it takes about 10 minutes to get a cup of coffee. This is not bad because you will get hot coffee with rich flavor. When the brewing cycle is done, the function display shows “— —”. No need to remove the lid. There are two small vents in the lid, and one is slightly bigger than the other. Simply use the slightly bigger vent to pour the coffee directly from the percolator. There are some coffee grounds come with the coffee but it is not a big issue. This product works very well for other purposes, like brewing tea, boiling hot water, or warming milk. Simply select other modes in the function menu.

   This is a sleek black portable coffee maker. To look at it, it almost looks like a travel mug of sorts, but once you pull the lid off the top, you can see there are high quality stainless steel percolator components inside. To make coffee with this device (while unplugged): 1) Fill coffee maker with cold water (filtered is always best for coffee). 2) Re-insert percolator components 3) Fill percolator with about 2 scoops of coffee (my personal preference) 4) Replace lid firmly on coffee maker and plug into power. 5) Touch the button on the maker one time to turn on, another time until it displays ’01 coffee’ 6) Wait approx 3 minutes, and pour (without removing lid) and enjoy! Overall: This is a great little coffee maker, it has an attractive/minimalist looking design, it can fit nicely in a backpack or luggage. However, the most important detail is it makes an incredible cup of coffee! This would work well to make a single cup of coffee right at your desk or cubicle. I could see someone who works 3rd shift and maybe doesn’t want to brew a full pot of coffee, you could easily make a single cup of fresh coffee – all you really need is an outlet. Important note: This unit can not be fully submerged in water, and therefore it is not dishwasher safe! Handwashing is not a problem for me, but that might be a consideration for you (so I’m mentioning it)? Final rating: 5-stars!
