   I used to have a universal pour over filter that I’d use over my regular coffee mug – as you can imagine it was impossible to see how much I was pouring. It was a guessing game that I lost often, and had a lot of spills to clean up because of it. This product solves that problem! I’m also able to make enough for two people without switching a dripping filter over to another mug. It does obviously seem very fragile (specifically where the handle connects), but certainly serves its purpose and is kept away in a cabinet to avoid an accidental bumps. Very beautiful though! For under $20 this product is a great find!

   2 days into owning this and it just sliced my thumb about 1cm long as I held the filter to clean it. The top edge of the filter is razorblade sharp! And the rubber nub that goes over the filter tab, which is how you hold it when it’s hot/messy, isn’t glued on or stuck on in any way, so when you hold it to shake grounds over the trash, the filter flies right into the trash leaving you holding a rubber nub and regrets. I actually like the carafe, and didn’t find the glass too thin at all, but the waist is so narrow it’s hard to get to the bottom section to clean it out. I’m genuinely kind of mad about it cutting me though. That’s not okay!

   First and Foremost, I am a coffee SNOB. I had my doubts on this product so when it was offered to review, I had to. I’m choosing to write my review by paralleling the seller’s description, use it accordingly: -Premium might be a stretch of a word. But the glass does seem to be of decent quality. I considered testing it over an open flame, but here’s the thing; that doesn’t do anything for the brew itself except make it hot. And a) there are other more efficient ways to heat up liquids, and b) if you are buying this for quality coffee, you drink the coffee post-brew, you don’t reheat it later, reheated coffee is for those who need coffee, not those looking enjoy coffee. So I did not test for that, it doesn’t seem to be a practical a practical use. -THIS FILTER. I don’t know why it says its maximizing extraction, when really there are other things that matter more and contribute to extraction. One thing I will give it, it would technically allow more oil to get through to the brew but I don’t think anybody was asking for that, that isn’t what makes a good cup, also personally that makes for a more upset stomach. Paper filters are standard for quality purposes, they aren’t something to shy away from. IN FACT! And this is a big point, your paper filters create more resistance, it allows the water to sit in the coffee rather than run through it, which is a must. If you don’t know, theres a phase of pour over called Bloom, its basically a heavy initial pour that sits in the coffee, gets it all wet and allows it to release CO2. That is not possible with this filter because it runs through too fast, unless you use finer grinds, but this brewer calls for courser grinds. Additionally, the shape of this filter almost dictates that you use it in this carafe, nothing else unless it has a wide conical top. Versatility is a nice feature for coffee equipment. -THE LARGE CAPACITY: While typically you don’t need a large capacity, it is a nice piece to use for hosting guests, this is a lovely set to look at. For a single use, or for a double cup, because of the size, what you have basically lays flat in a puddle, which gives it a lot of surface area… which means it gets colder faster. -EASY TO USE AND CLEAN. As a glass product, sure its easy to clean. The filter however, it takes some effort to get it clean, and you can’t scrub because its basically a cheese grater and the last thing you want is anything stuck inside. I will say, its not nearly as easy to clean as just simply throwing away a paper filter with the grinds inside, instead I have to was this filter AND then wash out the sink because the grinds basically have to get washed down the drain. -ECO “FRINDLY” (just one of the many typo’s in their description), that is a perk to this brewer, little waste. But honestly, the lack of filters is a deal breaker, metal filters just don’t work the same if you’re looking for quality (and if we’re being honest, you are, you’re reading a review on a pour over set, not a dorm room Keurig), and the waste a filter leaves behind is a) not that much and b) circumventable by composting or recycling. They are so biodegradable, and with the grounds, thats just more compost. My honest review and final thoughts: This product shouldn’t exist, but it does, so I will review it for what it is. The filter is too open, water rushes right through and doesn’t spend enough time in the extraction process, leaving kind of dull and flat tasting coffee. I find it inconvenient that you have to remove the filter when pouring, seeing as clearly the home for that piece is inside the unit, the shape of the filter doesn’t lend itself to setting down most places, nor do I want to risk damaging the pore’s, and theres no ability to hang it from anything either… and because you kind of have to keep it in there, its awkward while pouring, and it will fall out unless held in place, but also it must be cleaned before hand or else you may spill grinds. The only person I suspect this is right for is someone looking to get a good pour over set but doesn’t have the resources yet, looking to get a quick fix for cheap until better equipment is easy to aquire. I will more than likely be keeping mine mostly as decoration, If I find that that after the honeymoon phase, I don’t enjoy looking at it, I’ll give it to a friend.

   A while back I got a pour over coffee maker, it was just a porcelain holder for a #2 paper cone with a hole at the bottom, and it was OK. This is definitely an A+. I love the filter, I tried it with some finely ground coffee (though not an espresso grind) and not a speck of coffee got into the coffee. I appreciate that the hot water doesn’t touch any plastics, only metal and glass, so I know my coffee is free of contaminants, and it all goes nicely into the dishwasher if I want for easy cleanup. The water goes through the filter a little bit faster than a drip coffee machine, but not too much faster, and my coffee had plenty of flavor to it. I love the styling of the pot, though that is personal preference. The one thing you might not like is that the filter doesn’t do great over a single cup of coffee, though it isn’t horrible either. Overall, I am absolutely delighted with this coffee maker. J.Ja

   After breaking, my bodum pour over maker, I chose this option and there is no difference. I still use a filter with the included stainless steel filter, I guess, old habits… The only CON I have is the glass is very thin so you have to be careful cleaning it as it looks like it can crack easily. .

    Overall, this pour over is fine. It gets the job done, but I was drawn to the pyrex look of it and quickly found out that it’s much thinner than it looks in the photos. When it’s full, I’m honestly a little scared that the handle will snap off just by picking it up.
    The filter also does that thing with all stainless steel filters and it started making the coffee taste kinda gross after a couple months of use. No matter how diligent you are about cleaning it, it’s still going to get funky. It worked for a bit, but it was definitely more of a temporary solution that pushed me to just break down and buy a real coffee maker.

    For the price, this is a great little pour over. I love the stainless steel screen that I can reuse and reuse and reuse. Easy to keep clean, with the filter out you can easily reach the inside of the carafe to clean. The carafe is made of lab glass with clear graduated markings in cups and milliliters makes coffee preparation a snap.

    Does a great job. Washes nicely. I’ve been using it almost a year now. Durable. Filter has no rust whatsoever. The pot is delicate. You can’t dare to squeeze your hand down to the bottom. Just rinse. Use the dishwasher once in a while. Washes well. I would like to be able to sponge the bottom with my hand but I can’t. A bottle brush does the job of course. I have no problem with this pot at all. Just be super careful because the pot is very thin glass.

    I love my coffee to be really strong and this does just that! I was really shocked by how easy this was to use. It holds enough coffee for three adults to have a mug or enough for two tumblers to drink later. I bring mine to work so I can have fresh coffee at work. It’s really easy to clean. I just pop mine into the dishwasher for an easy clean.

    At first impression, this is a very beautiful coffee carafe. Unfortunately there is a small crack in the handle so I am returning but ordered another one. I have a small version of this and I can tell you that I’m excited to use this. I wanted this because it can make a couple of cups at a time and it looks gorgeous.

    It works pretty good. I’m no expert on brewing coffee but it looks like it made coffee. lol Anyways this will be really convenient with my water cooler/dispenser because it also does hot water. Now I can pour it directly from the dispenser into this to make coffee and tea. Now the nitpicky stuff. The little rubber pad on the filter falls off really easily and I wouldn’t trust holding just that, could easily drop the filter. Also the etchings on the glass are kinda burnt/stained on some of them. Neither of those issues will keep this from working, just making note of it. EDIT: this works MUCH better with a paper filter in it. The coffee it made was a little weak without it, the filter slows down the brewing a bit and makes it taste much better.
