I didn’t even get to use it. I unpacked it and while washing it to use, the glass carafe fell out and shattered. I had another one from another french press that I put in the frame that was the EXACT same size, and the body that holds the glass has a huge opening that allows the glass to fall right out. I would get another one that has the body that wraps all the way around the glass and holds it secure. I attached a pic of an old one I’ve had for years.

Hi The design is nice ,Vintage look ,but not stainless steel but plastic the Glass feel like plastic too, but work the same ,Just a bit dissatisfied it not the real thing ! that is why a four starts Should be more specific about the product .

Nice little French press. We use almost daily. It plunges much nicer than ones we have had in the past and also allows me to clean beneath the arm but is still secure. The last one I had from elsewhere would gather coffee grounds and you couldn’t get them out. Also, is holding its gold shine quite nicely.

**Update: At the time of my purchase I did not find info on whether this was dishwasher safe. I checked back a few times, and still no mention (or maybe I just kept missing it), but I see it in the listing now. So, I’m glad I can stop handwashing this every day!**

Overall, I do like this press. It’s not perfect, but it’s a good starter press. This is my first one and I love the look. After using it for several weeks, I know what to look for in future presses. Fortunately, I don’t foresee this one going away soon. Despite some of its construction issues, it does appear to be something that will last a few years with proper use.

Pros:
– It’s functional and stylish decor. I don’t even have to put this away. I can leave this on my countertop In my cafe corner without it being an eye sore.
– It holds more than enough liquid for my needs. It disassembles easily to better clean the device.
– The spoon’s liquid capacity is an exact teaspoon. Yes, I tested it haha. I placed water on it, then poured it into and careful transferred it to a measuring spoon. Since my the leaves have to be measured in teaspoons, it’s perfect for measuring out my tea. I don’t have to fish for my measuring spoons to get my ratio correct.

Cons:
– Spoon may not maintain its finish. It has already started to fade and look a more noticeably different color than the rest of the pot pieces. The spoon was never a perfect match to the gold on the handle and the top, but it was originally more of a straw yellow than it is currently. Now, it’s getting close to a bronze color.
– The strainer piece isn’t constructed well because the screw that holds it together used to come out with every use. At one point, it came out while my teenager was doing dishes and he didn’t know until he picked it up and all the pieces came apart. So, be careful not to lose this screw.
– Cleaning the filters throughly is cumbersome. Coffee grounds and tea herbs get stuck between the layers of the filter. I wish there was an easier way to clean those than unscrewing and completely disassembling. Also WARNING: THE METAL NEAR THE FILTER AREA WILL CUT YOU. BE CAREFUL WITH YOUR FINGERS THERE. I was attempting to clean the space between the mesh and the metal plate at the very bottom. I sliced my thumb pretty good doing that. So, I just use a straw brush and run it along the space between the parts now. That gets smaller particles out easily and protects my fingertips

1st purchase of this item chipped at the top of the French Press… I returned it and tried AGAIN with another Press. Fast Forward….. Today I was making coffee to take to work with me. I poured my hot water into the press, stirred it with the spoon (that came with it)… it then instantly burst at the bottom. Hot Coffee went on my counter, my floor and on ME!!! It burned my leg. I was late for work and had to change clothes. coffeemakers.us.com refunded me (despite being outside of my return window) which was great!!!! The glass cracked the first time I poured hot water into it. Maybe I just got the only defective container but certainly was disappointing. It also looks better than it feels, the handle and frame don’t feel as sturdy as you’d think. It does look great, though. Wish it hadn’t have broken.
