   In terms of simply making coffee, this coffee maker does a good job. I’ve certainly had better cups of coffee from more premium models, but I’ve also had far worse. Build quality is good, but I expected a little more considering the other options available at this premium. Setting this coffee maker up is simple enough, but if you expect to make changes later, be prepared for overly complex, tedious button pushing. Seriously, for such a simple control panel, it’s ridiculous the combinations of buttons that need to be pressed to perform different tasks. Overall: To me, this is a decent coffee maker, no more, no less. The control panel and buttons are tedious at best. I’m not not impressed overall. 3 stars

   Update — April, 2023 I inadvertently put the carafe back without the cover — easy to do as it snaps off for cleaning — and the result was that the filter basket overflowed and got coffee grounds where they were no supposed to be! Had I not been brewing more than three cups it would have been worse. User error, yes, but another indication the machine is not delivering the value it should in this price range. You might hope for a interlock. _____________________ This is a perfectly functional standard coffee maker, but I was expecting more. Braun, as you might guess, began life as a German company, in the 1920’s, under the leadership of one Max Braun. Fast forward a century and the Braun brand name is now owned by the De’Longhi Group, an Italian company with some letters after their name which… well, they’re the letters Italian companies often put after their name and no doubt mean something to Italian lawyers. De’Longhi makes coffee makers under their own name, very high-end expresso makers in fact: Braun is not their flagship brand and neither is Braun manufactured in Germany anymore, but in a facility in China (you can find this information on the D’Longhi website). At first glance, online, you might think this was a stainless steel sheathed machine. Sheet metal trim on the front from a limited viewpoint appears to cover the machine, but the primary material is white plastic (the coffee maker also available in black plastic). Controls are via a touch-sensitive screen with the exception of the clicky on-button, and are for the most part non-intuitive: many are of the “hold this button three seconds and then click that one twice” variety, which means at least some time must be spent with the instruction booklet. You can set the brewing speed (slower drip for stronger coffee), the local water hardness (in theory), an automatic start time and timeout of the hot plate, as well as a few other things. This of course means that there is a digital clock, which brings back something we may have wished would have remained far away: the flashing unset digital appliance clock! I distrust leaving any cooking appliance with the ability to turn itself on plugged in when I am not at home so this is a concern, as I must apparently always be resetting the clock. Overall this is a fairly standard drip-coffee maker with standard features and it can brew a lot of coffee quickly, but I am not a fan of many-bells-and-whistles style of controls activated by arcane-key sequences nor am I a fan of white plastic, so this product was not a big win for me. Bauhaus (a school of mid-twentieth century German design which Braun prided itself on following at the time), it is not. I’m afraid this will go to the closet until called upon some night to make 14 cups of coffee quickly and efficiently, on default settings with its digital clock still flashing. I’m am sure it will do its job well, but the bells and whistles could have been omitted, the price lowered, and the value increased. I would consider the 12-cup coffeemakers.us.com basics model as a cost-effective alternative.

   Update: Any dribbles of water that miss the reservoir when filling has a tendency to travel down the outside of the basket onto the hotplate. It’s almost impossible to remove every bit of moisture from the base of carafe or hotplate. As a result more coating comes off. Compared to our previous Braun this one is poorly designed and made. ************** Our prior Braun coffee maker, an older 10 cup model made in eastern Europe, finally died. We bought this 14 cup replacement based on the excellent performance of our older Braun. This new model has a few more features but it takes longer to brew and is more difficult to use. As others noted it’s difficult to add water but not impossible. Today, about a month after purchasing I’m noticing the coating is peeling off the hot plate. After calling Braun I’m finding out that this is caused by leaving residual water on the bottom of the carafe. Apparently, after filling and spilling water the owner needs to pull the carafe and dry the bottom and the hot plate. I haven’t been doing that. Fortunately if the coating peels off the function is not impaired.

   Coffee machine worked great, however the carafe itself is crap.

   This was actually the second machine I’ve purchased, first one the carafe cracked and shattered and I thought it was a fluke but second one had the exact same issue, place the carafe gently on the counter and it shatters (picture attached).

   Contacted coffeemakers.us.com support and they referred me to the manufacturer, who basically determined it was dropped (it wasn’t) and no support.

   Reached back out to coffeemakers.us.com support, explained the situation and what the manufacturer said, and coffeemakers.us.com issued a full refund (even though outside the return window).

   As usual, coffeemakers.us.com has great service. Wish I could say the same for the manufacturer.

   I have both a keurig and this. I use this to make my iced coffee, and coffee for more than one and it comes out super strong, and extra hot. This is BY far the best coffee maker I have ever used. You can brew 14 cups of coffee and it is STILL perfect. I read through the reviews wondering why it was rated so low, then I realized it was just technologically inclined people having trouble setting the timer/clock. It comes with clear, simple instructions on how to set the timer for coffee and the clock. There is nothing wrong with this coffee maker and if you’re looking for strong, hot/iced coffee, and you can understand simple instructions, this one’s for you. As an avid coffee drinker, if you’re in the market for a coffee maker, do not listen to the negative reviews.

   This Braun coffee maker is a beast! This can make 14 cups of coffee! This is perfect for the upcoming holidays – to ensure you have enough coffee for guests. This coffee maker offers so many great features. You can make iced coffee or hot coffee with this machine. You can also brew bold coffee and there’s even a fast brew button (because it does take a little more time to brew coffee with this machine than my old machine). You can brew 2 to 14 cups of coffee per cycle. when your coffee is finished brewing it beeps to let you know it is done. You can also remove the carafe while it is brewing and it will stop the brewing temporarily. The instructions could have been written more clear. Thankfully, it has a one page quick start sheet that’s a little more clear than the booklet (knowing how to use the machine isn’t intuitive – you’ll need the instructions). Still, we were able to figure out how to make iced and hot coffee and it’s really not difficult – you just need to know the steps. This has a clean function and also allows you to set a brew time so you can wake up to brewed coffee. This comes with a plastic filter, although I recommend using a paper filter to make cleanup easier. It also comes with a coffee scoop so you can use just the right amount of coffee. This comes with a charcoal water filter that brews your coffee with optimal pure water. The coffee tastes great. The iced coffee brew provided enough cold brew for me for 5 days (I refrigerated after brewing). Overall, I’m very impressed with this coffee maker and would recommend it to others.     Are you like me and feel like a zombie as you somehow navigate to the coffee maker each morning? Well then, this very well made and technologically advanced coffee maker is for you. I was surprised at the many features it has and the quality of the overall unit. I wasn’t sure the color white would blend well with my kitchen, but after setting it up, I see it fits in perfectly. In fact, it looks even nicer than my old black coffee maker. (see pics) I also realized that the white color has one hidden advantage over my old black one. After making coffee on the first day, I saw that the white color shows the coffee marks quite vividly which forced me to clean it. (My friends call me a clean freak.) I never noticed these marks on my old one, so I imagine cleaning it with each use – or more often if necessary – will help it last a lot longer. Braun has lived up to their standards with their higher than usual quality of products, and this has lived up to my higher than usual expectations…maybe even more so. You can make and/or program your coffee light, regular or bold. So, if you want good coffee in the morning all ready and waiting for you to transform that zombie into human form, buy this beauty. You won’t be disappointed.

    I really like the coffee maker & the coffee it produces. I also like the various different settings. It is very easy to use & fits under the cabinets nicely. It’s sorta tall & you need to pull it out to fill it, but that’s not a big deal for me. I’ve only owned it for about 8 months now & the one issue I do have is when the coffee maker was 3-4 months old the hot plate started to rust. The rust transfers to the carafe & anything that you set the carafe down on gets the rust on it too. If it wasn’t for that I would have given it 5 stars.

    I like the 14-Cup capacity. The #4 cone filter works well in this unit. The carafe pours very well and is ergonomic. The carafe glass is thin making it fragile. The hot element coated with thin Teflon enamel shows wear within weeks if use. I like the water indicator so you can make the amount of coffee cups you wish to brew. I found it easy enough to program and the clock LED is well lit when it’s brewing and visible on stand-by mode. I’m happy with it after looking at many coffeemaker options. Best feature is how it timely infuses the coffee before it starts the brewing process. Makes excellent bold good tasting coffee. Overall the quantity of 14 cups is its selling feature. The bold brew option makes great coffee as I mentioned. You can hear the coffee maker brewing and gurgling when it’s brewing. The three audible beeps to announce the coffee is ready is faint to the ear. The clean and descaling mode when flashing orange takes approximately 20 minutes with descaling solution. I purchased a gallon of descaling solution from home hardware making it more cost efficient. Using the coffee maker daily the clean me light turns on every 4 months for the descaling process.     This is a nice coffee maker. It works and fits perfectly in my office for daily use. It’s easy to use, easy to program and the settings are self explanatory. It has a nice built in filter basket and a nice carafe that accompanies the unit. It has multiple brewing options, including regular, bold, over ice and a quick brew setting. Although, I have not needed to try the quick brew setting yet lol the others are quite nice. The bold setting yields slightly less fl oz of coffee but, the bold brew setting provides more bold and rich taste in my coffee which is helpful for those longer tough days. The regular drip coffee is as expected while the over ice setting is a really nice additional feature. The over ice setting does require the use of the carafe. It is not a setting that can be used as a single serve and a regular cup as the warm brew over ice would cause the glass to brew if brewed in anything other that the carafe provided with the coffee maker. I live in a warmer climate so I find this setting very useful on the hot summer days. This coffee maker does provide a full 12 cup carafe and heating unit has auto shit off, which is awesome and makes it great for serving multiple people in the office. This coffee maker is easy to clean. The white and grey color scheme is aesthetically pleasing and would fit nicely into any kitchen, office, or break room. Overall I am very happy with this coffee maker. This is my first product by Braun brand and I am very happy with it! Would definitely recommend it as it’s not your average run of the mill coffee maker. It provides nice features, delicious coffee and easy to use setting that appreciate and enjoy.

    My wife and I had a Braun drip coffee maker for many years, so we knew Braun was a name we could trust when we ordered this one to test. We were right! The Braun PureFlavor Coffee Maker is even a much improved machine from the one we had. First of all, it has a larger capacity, so it can make up to 14 cups of coffee. It comes with an optional water filter, and we can clearly see how many cups of water we add on the side window. It comes with a scoop too, that we used to measure the coffee on a one scoop per cup basis – easy! The brewer has different brewing settings, which includes fast, regular, bold, and over (ice), so we can brew our coffee exactly to what we want and need. It is very easy to set-up too, with the clear illustrated instructions included. Once the clock is set, we could set the auto-on, auto-off, and the ready beep alarm. The carafe and reusable filter are dishwasher safe, so it’s very convenient. Plus, it’s got a clean program setting, which is essential, in order to prolong the life of your machine. Water can have minerals in it that can clog and ruin the mechanism of a machine if not properly cleaned regularly. Finally, the price is right, for a coffee maker of this quality and with the latter features. For all these reasons, my wife and I would HIGHLY recommend the new Braun PureFlavor coffee brewer, so we gave it 5 stars!

    The coffee is great, but the “added features” are a bit ridiculous! The directions specifically say to unplug the unit when not in use. So the clock only works while brewing! Same for the other features, like “auto on” — they literally cannot work if you follow the manual’s direction to unplug when not in use. So don’t buy on the basis of those features — but the coffee is great!

    I will be writing multiple reviews for this product , if permitted. All the basic functions work fine. The resulting coffee tastes great. However, the unit has big design flaws. The first issue is the constant loud clicking. Once the hot plate is on, the thermostat tends to turn it on and off which results in constant noise. I understand the concern for conserving energy but the clicking is loud and frequent. It could have been designed better. It turns out I am not allow multiple videos. The second video I was going to post was the water issue: the auto-stop mechanism rests on the pot and is so poorly design that hot water starts running down it, down the pot, and onto the hot plate. This creates a constant sizzling and causes permanent damage to the plate. You wipe it off mid-brew, put the pot back, and minutes later more water runs down. I have examined everything. Nothing is misaligned, nothing is clogged. It i just a very bad design. Do not buy this unit. I’m very disappointed as I used to be a fan of Braun.

    It came time to replace my old coffee maker. I’m not one who is into all these disposable pods or those fancy coffee drinks, so I wanted a plain old coffee maker. And I wanted one from a brand I could trust. After a bit of searching, I decided on the Braun Pure Flavor 14 Cup Coffee Maker. I received my coffee maker and was anxious to try it. This coffee maker is very easy to operate. You just fill it with water and coffee…turn it on…and select regular…bold…or over ice. Press the button, and the brewing starts. That’s it. Easy. I’m not a big fan on how long it takes for most coffee makers to brew a pot of coffee. Some of them take what seems like hours. But this Braun has a ‘fast’ setting which appealed to me. I brewed a pot using it, and I had 8 cups of coffee waiting for me in around two minutes. I thought that was pretty good. The coffee was good. It had a lot of flavor and was at a good temperature. You can adjust the brew temperature as well, but the default setting was good for me. It made a good cup. The coffee maker has a built in water filter that fits in the water reservoir. The filters are very easy to change. And Braun even includes a permanent gold basket filter. That’s always plus with me especially since there are so many kinds of coffee filters out there. All-in-all, I think this Braun PureFlavor will be a good coffee maker for me. It’s easy to use and it brews a pot of coffee a lot quicker than most. And it doesn’t take up a lot of counter space which is always a plus.

    I Love this 14 cup Braun coffee maker…. Does not leak when you pour 👍 Love the features that are programmable. Easy to follow instructions for setting the clock. Have already been through one cleaning cycle 👍. The best thing about this Braun…. It makes Great coffee 😁. Always read and follow the directions for set up and programs (if you use) . I find that All electronics 🤔 or programs can be frustrating at first… But, if you read and follow their instructions, even if you fail at first…. You can redo it. Except when it’s in cleaning mode, have your spare water pitcher handy. Makes it easier to finish the job. I especially love the look and style of the Braun coffee maker. I use the reusable filter it came with and love it. No more paper filters. Most of All 😁 I have extra coffee for my afternoon break 😂 without brewing another pot. Would definitely recommend to anyone and I’ll definitely purchase another one in time when needed.

    This 14 cup coffeemaker is rather large (preferred 12 cup), but I wanted white so I chose this model. It works well, but set up is guided by a one page manual with one sentence of instruction at most, and pictures to guide the use. While the product works well, I found the brew to be so so and for the price, I would not purchase another one by Braun. The quality of the coffeemaker itself is good, but others would have been just as good with a lower price point. As for the manual, I went to the website to see if there was more operation instructions, but they show the exact one page with pictures. Not all the functions are covered, but I will keep it—just would not recommend it for this reason.

    Great tasting coffee until it stopped working. All of a sudden water would leak all over the place every time it made coffee. Cleaned everything and the water leak appeared to stop. A few days later E01 error.
    Tried to descale but the unit won’t work at all.

    Other side note, it is a little difficult to program and is not intuitive at all. Previous Braun Flavor Select machines were pretty intuitive not requiring requiring referring to the manual to program it every time you wanted to do something different.

    Plugged the unit in and after setting the time and when I tried to do a initial run the unit threw an error. Contacted Braun and followed their instructions of unplugging it for a few hours and trying again. Got the same error. Returning it has been the greatest annoyance I have ever gone thru with coffeemakers.us.com. UPS was supposed to pick it up on 05 Aug and completely failed. I gave them the benefit of the doubt and waited on the 8th (Monday after scheduled pickup). Still nothing. I contacted coffeemakers.us.com and the first POC chat bot told me their department didn’t cover the returns and I need to contact a different Chat Bot. After several back and forth conversations I was told on a Tuesday “”The carrier will come and pick up the item within the end of this week.”” I know have to wait up to four days to have UPS pickup a defective item. I do not recommend buying from coffeemakers.us.com Warehouse or this brand/model of coffee maker. The E1 error is common.

    ☕Registration of this Braun coffee maker takes maybe 3 minutes. You text a picture of the registration card to Braun. They reply back with a link, where you update your basic auto fill contact info and you are done. This was a quick and easy process. ☕The coffee maker also comes with a quick start guide that walks you thru basic setup (clock, tone etc). Setup is easy, just don’t go past your time because it goes up but not down. ☕This coffee maker has customizable temp, a mode to auto start your coffee at a particular time and you can control how long the pot stays on in thirty minute increments. All settings are easy to adjust. I set my coffee pot up to start at 5 yesterday morning and came down to a nice hot pot ready and waiting for me. ☕You can make coffee with this pot fast, regular, bold, or over ice. Bold gives you a good strong cup and takes about 8 minutes for an 8 cup pot. Regular gives you your typical cup of coffee and fast is quick and the pot turns itself off immediately after brewing. I personally will use regular most often but it’s great to be able to brew quick when you don’t have a lot of time, or to get a bold cup of coffee when you need that extra kick. The pot makes up to 14 cups of coffee. Great for thermos days or for a crowd. The coffee maker comes with a filter, that is optional but should be changed every two months if used. The coffee maker includes a cleaning mode to descale your coffee pot. ☕I’ve only been using this for a few days now but am impressed so far by it’s quality and how easy it is to use.
