   I always thought making expressions was hard or time consuming. But this little machine is a breeze. I’ve only used it about 5 times so far, made pretty good cuppicino 4 of those times. Don’t know what happened on 3rd try (video) but it worked great after that. Will update!!

   Bought this for my husband because his espresso machine broke and he’s used to making his own coffees at home. When I say this man loves espresso..he’ll brew a double espresso a good 4 times a day if not more. I came across this and love that he can brew a little pitcher of espresso that he can chill and use throughout the day instead of having to brew it and chill it multiple times a day. He’s obsessed with it already and will probably get rid of his old espresso machine at this point. The only thing I don’t like is that it sometimes it leaks a little water out into the tray while brewing. We’ve followed the instructions to a T, so not sure what makes it happen, but it’s only a minor inconvenience it seems like.

   This is my second coffee maker the first one was excellent, it lasted 2 years and started going out by not heating up right and shutting off, for the price I wasn’t gonna complain it was perfect espresso maker so I decided to buy another one, I tested it with water only no coffee add it and worked fine so I decided to make a cup of coffee as soon it build pressure coffee started flowing than suddenly hot steam pressurized started building up and escaping from the top where the water reservoir cap is, I shut it down released the pressure checked the cap to make sure it wasn’t lose or tight crook it, everything was tight and cap screwed on right, so I started making coffee again and as soon it build up pressure the steam violently escaped from the side of the cap again and growing like it was about to explode, so I shut it off tired with a other water reservoir cap from my other machine and did it the same way, at this point its very unsafe to use it because if that cap blows or water reservoir it could cause severe burns, hot steaming pressurized water is no joke, so now I am stuck with it.

   For the price you can’t beat it but as mentioned before the heating chamber continuously cycles. Your red light turns off after brewing but it kicks back on every 10 min or so if you forget to switch it off. Besides that fire hazard I would definitely recommend:)

   First, a single cup of coffee that comes out of this tastes amazing; HOWEVER, it really needs a better auto-off feature. As you can see from my photo, I wrote ” Unplug me” to remind my boyfriend to turn it off (he still forgets 😅). The machine has an indicator light that shows when the cycle ends, and the machine turns off when the indicator light goes out at the end of the cycle; however, I think this is actually bad that the light turns off, because you mistakenly think the machine is off completely… it is not. The indicator light must be a temperature or pressure gauge. It is very easy to forget to turn off the brew setting on the knob. If the knob is turned to the brew setting, the machine kicks back on as soon as the temp and/or pressure goes down enough for it to think it’s a new brew… then it kicks back on, heats up, turns off… rinse and repeat. This means is stays on for hours if you don’t carefully adjust the knob or unplug the machine. Also, I mentioned it’s good for one cup. If I try to make a second cup immediately, or if the machine has been left on, it leaks water and steam from the coffee tray – machine seam. (Where the metal cup attaches to the machine). I assume this is related to the temperature of the metal around the edge of the fittings. This causes a big mess, and a much smaller cup of coffee. I suppose it is one of the more affordable options, but you get what you pay for here. I’m probably going to replace it when I can afford a nicer one.

    Electric espresso makers typically cost $100 or more. This one makes good, strong espresso and even has the steamer attachment for less than half that. I make cappuccinos and frappucinos at home now instead of going to Starbucks. The steamer wand is slightly annoying to clean because it takes so long to screw the tip on and off, but for $30, who’s complaining? Just make sure you get the top screwed on tight. I didn’t quite get it tight enough once, and it weirdly made the steamer wand suck the milk into the water reservoir.

    UPDATE: Well, I had to lower my review by one star. The third time I used it, the retaining clip snapped off and broke one of the tines that holds the potafilter to the handle while I was tamping out the grinds. Bummer… but then again it was only $30, but I still expect a product to last a while even when it’s inexpensive Original Review: Wanted an espresso maker for work as I like to make latte’s and coffee is not going to cut it. So I found the least expensive espresso maker on coffeemakers.us.com, it had good reviews so for $30 I figured I’d give it a go. Well, it has turned out to be a nice little machine. One “down side” is that the heating element does take time to warm up… you will not hear the fast boil of most machines, in fact, you don’t hear anything at all. It just sits there and after about 4 minutes the espresso starts to run out of the portafilter into the carafe. So if you are jonesing for a quick hit, better invest in a faster machine. But if like me, you don’t mind a 5 minute pause in your day this is probably a great deal. Good for an office, dorm room, apartment, etc.

    I absolutely love this little espresso maker. It’s small and compact and doesn’t take up a lot of space. I love the fact that you can make 4 shots at one time. The other espresso maker I had, could only make two shots at a time. Do not pack the coffee down like I did because when you try to remove the filter holder, it WILL EXPLODE. It scared the heck outta me. The release from the pressure created a massive amount of steam and the coffee grounds went flying everywhere and made the biggest mess ever. I never packed the coffee down in the filter ever again and it’s made the perfect 4 shots of espresso.

    It’s a really decent, compact espresso machine. It does take a few minutes for the water to heat up and brew. The milk frother is a bit weird, functional, but takes some getting used to! The provided spoon is good for filling up the portafilter, but definitely not good for packing the grounds in, I got an actual tamp to use and it’s so much better! It’s great for small spaces, I live in an rv and it’s perfect!

    I bought this dispite the reviews. Whoever gave this a crappy review is not using it right. I worked as a coffee girl in my twenties and I know how to make lattes, etc… This works just as good as those $500 machines. I was extremely surprised. I made myself some cold foam this morning and OMG! I made a caramel latte with some expresso from Starbucks and just grinded it to fine with my grinder. I put it in, gave it a tap and 3 minutes later I had a latte. Everything this unit says it does, IT DOES. You will not be disappointed. It’s easy to clean up as well. Now I am saving time and money. Don’t have to wait 30 minutes in line to get what I want nor pay almost $6.00 a cup. This is great. If you really want a treat, just refridgerate your expresso over night. Enjoy it with ice in the morning with your favorite syrup, cream or milk. OMG! For the price of this machine I am surprised it was not more expensive. Kudos to IMUSA. I am buying another machine for my friends. What a gift to give. For the price? Are you kidding me? This is awesome!

    I’m fairly happy with this machine. It makes a good cup of cappuccino. It was the only machine I could find that met all of my criteria, makes espresso, steams milk, inexpensive. Other reviews warn about the power switch and the red power on light. It turns off when when it reaches the optimal temperature, to prevent overheating. The reviews said that I would forget to turn it off because of the red light being off. I didn’t believe them. I thought I would always remember to shut it off. I didn’t. I went away and left it on all day long twice, which I’m sure increased electric bill. My solution is this switched outlet plug I got at a dollar store years ago. coffeemakers.us.com sells them, so add one of these to your order if you buy this machine. You can turn off the machine at the switch. The red light on the switch reminds me to turn it off, and I haven’t left it on since.

    I have mixed feelings about this espresso machine. My buttons were loose the main noob, I should say. It’s not gonna last long, I feel. The actual coffee that comes out is not as strong as it should be if it had more pressure as it pushes out. But for what it’s worth and the price I guess it’s passable. I wanted to rate it a 3 but due to the price and usability I’ll change it to a 4. Oh.. If you are wanting a quick espresso this is not for you it takes a good 5 minutes to a start dripping.

    The shipping box was fine but when I opened the product box to take the machine out, immediately these plastic pieces dropped out of the box. Not sure if this has been used or what but it had exposed wires where the plastic crumbs were. Sending it back. I guess you really get what you pay for, cheap plastic or maybe a used item?
