   I bought this because it was red and cheap. I should’ve researched more. At first it was decent. Although it take FOREVER to brew and makes a lot of noise and puts off a ton of steam the coffee tasted good. As it’s a bit older, it takes even longer to brew and when I put 4 cups of water in it, I only get about 2 cups of coffee. I’m not sure what’s going on, I assume it all goes up in steam. I don’t dare put it under my cabinet as everything would be wet from the steam. Don’t waste your little bit of money on this one.

   So the wife and I were getting bored with our Keurig. We usually only have a mug in the morning but we missed the taste of freshly ground coffee. So we broke out the French press and started grinding and pressing our morning coffee again. What a difference! Real coffee again. After a month of taking the time and dealing with the messy clean up I was ready for a filter again. Enter the basic coffee maker. Wonderful. No more messy clean up and a very decent cuppa. We also like the compact size. Fits well on the counter. Now for the down side. Our mugs are 14oz and this 4 cup carafe will not quite fill them up. A 6 cup would be better. Also, the brew time is a little slow. That said this little thing makes a very good cup of coffee and you can’t beat the price.

    Just watch the amount of water pored in. The measure water marks are there, It’s a small coffee maker. It’s working well so far. I do clean it after use and take a paper towel to clean up the internal moisture from brewing.
