   for the low price of this product it does an exceptional job of making a good tasting, hot pot of coffee. It’s a basic machine so it’s easy to use and the ability to remove the top portion for cleaning in the dishwasher is a big plus.

   Before purchasing this coffee maker I read the reviews and was a little concerned about those who shared their troubles with having grounds spill over the top of the basket but I’ve found that this will only happen if the the beans are ground too fine for a drip coffee maker. If the beans are too fine then the grounds seem to get compacted too much for the water to drip through them fast enough.

   All in all this is a good value for the price I paid and it makes a good tasting cup of hot coffee when measured properly.

   I bought this Mr. Coffee coffee maker as an easy way to clean the essential parts in the dishwasher for a better tasting cup of coffee. It didn’t quite work out in that order. I got the best tasting cup of coffee by using cold filtered water in the reservoir. But only by using the filtered cold water NOT by taking the coffee maker apart like the instructional video and the directions from the Mr. Coffee booklet. In other words, this coffee maker is a piece of crap! The top lid of the upper detachable coffee maker does not come off like instructed. In the video for this product the lid is supposed to come off by pressing down on the orange-yellow tab gently and the lid lifts off with ease. Not true at all. So I called an coffeemakers.us.com product technician to help me take the lid off. He said that the through his own instructional video Mr. Coffee gave coffeemakers.us.com techs that by pressing the orange-yellow tab it should work. When I tried it with him on the phone and me in the kitchen struggling to get it off the tab wouldn’t budge and I ended up breaking off the small plastic black piece that attaches to the tab. Since this happened while still on the phone with him, he sent me an email for a return label. Bottom line, Mr. Coffee needs to back to the drawing board literally. This is false advertisement in the worst way. Buyer beware!! Do not purchase this product.

   I waited a month before writing my review so I can give the best review. Ilove the fact that I can break it down to wash and clean the water reservoir. Being able to filter the water helps in keeping any sentimentfrom being in my coffee. Setting the brew later for morning wake time is so easy to use and do. With the control buttons facing up took away problems of trying to what you are looking for.

   This coffee maker is ~okay~. I like how it’s dishwasher safe and can be completely taken apart, making it super easy to clean. Other than that, it’s pretty average–works like any other coffee maker. One thing that kinda bugs me though: it’ll beep to tell you it’s done, but will keep dripping for what feels like ~forever~ (especially at 5:30am when you just want your coffee). I added a pic to show the puddle of liquid that still sits in with the grounds about 7 minutes after it beeps. After pouring coffee, I usually leave the carafe out and open for a while so that it can dry and not get gross, but when I put it back in, there is still some liquid left in the coffee maker that then drips into the carafe. Not a huge deal, but kinda bugs me. Overall, it’s a decent coffee maker that does its job and is easy to clean.

   The working parts can go in the dishwasher. Amazing. Why they all don’t do this is strange. There are no tricks to learn, the entire top tips up to easily pour a full pot of water in, and filling the filter with coffee is a breeze. I have owned coffeemakers where pouting the water in meant getting a mop, and have had some strangely engineered filter holders – a thing of the past. The clock is easy to adjust. Amazing!

    I really like the coffee maker. Purchased it for the ability to throw it in the dishwasher. It makes a decent pot of coffee with no weird tastes or anything, but I do have a few cons: – it’s too large to fit under my cabinet. I need to pull it out to fill it where as my smaller 6 cup was a good size for the location. I wish the was a smaller dishwasher safe version. – it tends to leak condensation from the steam around the rim of the lid shortly after the brewing cycle completes. My other Mr Coffee brewers have never done this. – the reusable filter is nice, but it has a solid bottom instead of a mesh bottom or even a few holes. This combined with the 1/4” solid lip up the edges creates a hot water mess when you go to throw the used coffee grinds away as it keeps a 1/4” of hot water hidden in the bottom of the basket for you to find at some point. If those things were addressed, I’d absolutely give this a 5 star rating.

    Before this coffee maker I had a small Mr Coffee that I bought for $20 and lasted for more than 10 years, and as a matter of fact I gave away after I bought this Mr. Coffee 12 Cup Dishwashable Coffee Maker. Well this one was bad quality. 1) the “permanent” filter that it came with broke within a few months. I had to buy a new more durable one. 2) As you can see the top lid broke off 3) the spring mechanism that stops the coffee from dripping while it is still brewing broke 4) there is this cheap “chrome” looking coating that has is peeling little flakes that could potentially be a health hazard. Please Mr. Coffee if you read this comment I need this rectified. Thank you. And for anybody else reading this please think twice about purchasing this item.

    After having this coffee maker for over a year, I’m a bit underwhelmed. We’ve had issues with the percolator basket sitting properly which has resulted in a flood of coffee a few times. As you can see, the display also has lights burned out on it already (time is supposed to say 9:07 in the picture). It was a poor design to have the display on the bottom where water and coffee grounds can get spilled on it and inside the cracks of the buttons and display. The lid for the carafe also broke one of the knobs that allows the lid to attach and detach from the carafe itself. The unit is easy enough to take apart for putting in the dishwasher which is a plus. Overall I would save your money for the design that has the display up at the basket level.

    Really happy with this coffee pot. Once taken out of the box it was wrapped tightly in plastic, so I think it could have handled a drop or two if it happened on the way to me. The main feature that drew me in was that it’s dishwasher safe. Everything except the base, can be tossed right in with your dishes once a week or so. I always hated that I couldn’t clean my old one as well as I wanted so this is a great upgrade. Everything comes apart quickly too, so you’re not spending more time than necessary trying to pry it apart or put it back together. Brewing was quick, and only takes a few minutes, which is always a bonus first thing in the morning. If you’re brewing a large pot but just can’t wait for it to finish, there’s a pause feature that allows you to quickly pour a cup then let it finish while you’re already enjoying it. As a new mom, this might be my favorite part of the whole thing. I love the reusable filter. It allows more oils and flavor from the coffee to be brewed into your cup so you’re getting an even better flavor. On the mornings I don’t have time to clean it, I can use a paper filter just like your regular coffee pot uses. The display is brightly lit and there’s a loud beep to let you know when it’s shutting off the warmer so you can grab that last cup while it’s still hot. I’ve been using this for almost a week now, multiple times a day and have never had a bitter cup of coffee. It’s been delicious every time and that makes it a keeper! I hope this review has been helpful!

    The valve on the brew basket breaks. Neither this part nor the brew basket have replacement parts available. This happened one week into using the first machine we got. Fortunately, it was within the window to replace it on coffeemakers.us.com. However, the second one we received did the exact same thing just four months into using the machine. See attached photo. Bad design. Bad construction. I would have given this one star, but I know a lot of people don’t read one star reviews, so I wanted to get this important design flaw info to as many consumers as possible.

Owner manual was found in the shipping box separate (not inside the plastic wrap) but found at the bottom of the shipping box. I suspect I bought a used coffee maker advertised as new.     I do not drink coffee, but my husband does. I was painstakingly making drip coffee, by hand. It was taking me forever and I’ve had enough lol. I spent about a week looking at reviews and finally took a chance on this Mr. coffee. It was definitely more expensive, than I had originally wanted spend… I think I spent about 65 bucks. However, so so worth it, at least for me. It is saved me so much time and there’s always hot refills of coffee or tea, on hand. Lifesaver. The warmer keeps it hot for four hours, which was super important to me. A lot of the other options had two hours before the cut off, and that’s just not enough time for me. So far, I have made both coffee and tea, many many times, over the last couple of weeks. It’s super easy to clean. It’s very user-friendly. I have not used the brew later option yet, so I cannot report on that function. Love it – highly recommend. However, if it breaks down or ask out, I will try and post an update . Oh, I’ve also uploaded a few pics… One shows fresh pot of coffee, the other one is tea. I also have a pic showing that the shower sprayer, seen over teabags, it’s kind of small, so even though it’s a showerhead, it’s not covering the entire span of the reusable filter. It’s not that important to me, but it was a feature that I was looking forward to having, And I will say that I was under the impression it would be larger, so they would spend more area. But it works great, regardless and I love this coffee maker!

    This thing does a nice job of brewing, and I love the fact that it can be very easily disassembled for washing, and then just as easily reassembled. The water filter feature seems a little gimmicky to me (we don’t even use it, as we’re already using filtered water to make our coffee). The carafe, even when completely full, doesn’t drip at all when pouring, which is a huge improvement over some others we’ve had. The reusable grounds basket it also nice, though we have started grinding more coursely to minimize small grounds from making their way through the mesh of the basket.

    I love that this coffee maker comes apart to put in the dishwasher and the coffee is fine. However, after a few months the ‘brew now’ button started to stick, until now I have to fiddle with it to get it to go on. Also the valve that releases the coffee into the carafe sometimes sticks and I have to stay with it and jiggle it around or I will end up with a coffee mess on the counter dripping onto the floor. So I’m out of the return window and after owning the coffee maker for seven months I have to buy a new one!

    Recommended not to use hard/well water, no choice though and I won’t purchase bottled water. Nothing to do with cost more the plastic issue…way too much plastic. Trying to eliminate as much plastic use as possible.

    I love the Mr Coffee coffee maker! However, the spring button on the bottom of the filter basket broke within the first 2 weeks. I’ve had several Mr Coffee makers and this one is equally great. Unfortunately the button did not have a washer around the part where it holds it on the inside and it broke due to being super fragile. I McGuiver’ed it with a paper clip until my replacement arrived. It would have received 5 stars if it was not for this fatal flaw … or poor workmanship, Im not sure. Beware of that issue Update: beware that there are not viable replacement baskets for this system. I ordered the one suggested and it did not work. I was finally allowed to return the coffee maker at a highly reduced price. BEWARE

    I received this a few days ago and I love everything about it, except that I have yet to get it to brew at or above the 12 cup line. It is consistently below the line. I like my pots of coffee full, so I normally add water to above the top line. Also, this 12 cup carafe is less coffee than my previous 12 cup coffee maker. This is more like a 10 cup. I gauge this by how much is left over in the pot after my family’s normal morning routine. Nothing, there’s nothing left and one of our travel mugs gets shorted. I love the idea of a completely cleanable coffee maker, and it does make a tasty pot. I do not love spending this kind of money on a 12 cup coffee maker and not getting the full pot. I am aware that cups in this instance are not based on 8oz, but usually on 6. I feel like this one is less than that. Thumbs up for the look and design- that is five star. Thumbs down for quantity- three stars for that.

    I have been finding small silver film flakes on the counter top and couldn’t figure out where they were coming from. Today they were on top of the pot. Luckily I saw them before I filled my cup. The picture coffeemakers.us.com provides of the coffee maker shows very shiny silver trim. It’s a thin film that flakes right off. See my picture for yourself. It will still make a decent cup of coffee but I’m not impressed with the quality. I can’t believe Mr Coffee puts their name on this.

    I like the reusable filter. I detest buying coffee filters. This also will stay warm for four hours, so no re heating in microwave. Having auto shut off is so much more safer and I really think it should be on every gadget. Especially items that heat up. Makes a great tasting brew with good beans and water. Rinses out easily. So easy to set up! Took me one minute to set clock etc. Fairly durable, but carafe May shatter if knocked too hard. I would like a longer cord, but not really a big deal. Not real heavy so can travel from house to house with no problems. Easy to read fill lines.

    This is the SECOND one of this same item I have received that’s been broken when opening the box. The second one was not packaged properly. The glass was not connected to the machine so it was thrown around during delivery I’m sure. Seeing as though the glass is thin compared to my other coffee makers, it may be a safety hazard. I don’t even trust making coffee in it because the glass may not be able to handle such high heat. It’s paper thin! Not safe

    We bought this specifically for its advertised ability to break down and go in the dishwasher. However, the hing pictured is really stubborn and not the right kind of plastic for repeated separation. It broke the second time we took it apart. We followed all the instructions and are mechanically inclined, so it’s probably not user error. Otherwise, it’s a straightforward machine that makes a good pot of coffee. Just don’t try to take it apart.

    The previous unit’s automatic brew feature stopped working after 2 weeks, so this was a replacement I received exactly 4 months ago. Now the warming plate on this one stopped working. On both units, the heat from brewing caused the yellow plastic retainer in the picture to soften and deform, so the lid won’t stay open when putting grounds or water in. I chose this unit because of the 4-hour warming plate shutoff, but I’m going to have to try a different brand.

    I bought this coffee maker because it could be put in the dishwasher. However, to do so, a yellow clip has to be pulled pretty firmly out of some plastic housing. The pictures show the result: the clip was soon destroyed. I have no idea what that thing is floating in the water reservoir. It worked for a while like that. Then it started saying “warmer on” instead of brewing coffee when I pushed “Brew Now.” It is currently inoperable.

    Ok, while the pot itself is nice, the design was poorly done, could not possibly have been tested. The lid of the pot itself overlaps the glass rim, and as a result when the hot coffee leaves condensation on the lid and you pour coffee water runs all over from under the lid. UPDATE! Dropping this to one star…the silver coating is flaking off now. This pot is barely over a month old! I wish I could get my money back.

    Mr. Coffee 12 Cup Programmable Coffee Maker with Dish-washable Design is fantastic. It’s unique in that the entire top portion of the coffee maker comes apart very easily for cleaning, even the internal sprayer separates for easy cleaning. I love the carbon filter, makes the coffee much less bitter and it’s a feature that is not easy to find in an affordable coffee maker (once you own a coffee maker that has an internal filter you will not settle for one that does not have this feature – makes a huge difference in the taste of the coffee. Basic coffee makers pale in comparison.) The coffee maker is simple to set up and program. The coffee maker stays hot for two hours and then turns off automatically so you don’t have to worry about forgetting to turn off the coffee maker – it does it for you! The coffee maker brews 12 / 5 oz cups of coffee in under 10 minutes and then beeps quickly when it’s done. There seems to be a slight low buzz noise coming from the clock at the base of the unit but I don’t think it’s a problem (I noticed the noise when I plugged the unit in – has nothing to do with the brewing process). I’m very satisfied with the coffee maker. It has all the features that I was looking for in a coffee pot at a very affordable price. Makes a delicious cup of coffee!
