   It was a decent deal price-wise, and arrived with no issues. B&D Makes great coffee makers. Harder to find the Steel Carafes these days, I have had 3 of these over the last 15-16 yrs. some for me, some as a gift.

   We ordered this on Black Friday 2018 and it came by the next Wednesday, so we’ve now had a few weeks to use it. While we cannot comment on durability yet, we are so far very pleased with this machine. We did read the reviews before purchasing and decided it had all of the features we wanted at a very reasonable price.
   PROs: thermal carafe keeps coffee hot and won’t break like the glass ones do; very easy to use; very easy to clean; love the different strength of brew options and the 1-4 cup option is clever.
   CONs: I only wish the brew strength and the 1-4 cup option could be activated simultaneously. It’s not a big deal, we either put in only 4 cups of water and use the “bold” strength or we use an extra tbsp of coffee with the 1-4 cup option. But I was mildly disappointed when I tried to activate them both.
   Hoping this machine lasts a few years, it’s been a joy to use so far!

   The best part of this coffee maker is the carafe. The basket to hold the coffee is of poor quality. There is a handle to lift the basket out of the brewing area and after about 5 uses it keeps coming off. The descriptor that comes to mind is flimsy. It is really useless. A better design would be for the handle to be affixed to the basket. The design appears poorly constructed. It is almost as if the carafe was from a higher quality product and used for this coffee maker. I was very disappointed with the quality of the coffee maker. I would not buy this product again. Sadly, we are not impressed and are already thinking this one might last a year and we will have to get another one, but we will keep the carafe.

   I have purchased 2 of these coffee makers, one for home and one for the office over the last couple of years. The teflon liner in the pots breaks apart after awhile. The teflon flakes end up in your coffee making it undrinkable. I believe the newer models have changed to a non teflon liner. If you are purchasing check to see if it’s an older model. Other than that the overall performance of the unit is good. The thermal pot keeps the coffee hot for a good couple of hours.

   We’ve been using this machine for over a year now. This machine is awesome. The controls are easy to use and the coffee stays hot.
   I have read people complaining that if they fill the water and want just 3-4 cups of coffee they get a whole pot. Duh. It’s not a smart machine. It will brew until all the water is gone. So if you want 4 cups, use 4 cups of water.
   To those who complain about the carafe dribbling – I will admit it’s a bit of a learning curve. When you are pouring, don’t pour too fast or the coffee will leak out under the lid a bit. When you are done pouring, keep the top open by keeping your thumb on the little “lever” while you put the carafe back into the upright position so any excess coffee will go back into the carafe instead of onto your countertop or floor.
   I love that this keeps the coffee hot by much more than the 2 hours they claim.

    The coffee pot works well (so far). The issues I have is the screen is LCD, not LED, or at the very least back-lit so you can see it in low light. Also for the price, there is no water filter to help purify the tap water. For the money I expected more……

    So, why can’t they finally make a pot that DOESNT DRIBBLE when you POUR out the COFFEE?? Also, the brewing has already slowed down and im left standing and waiting forever for my coffee. I don’t get it. Otherwise I love it! The coffee stays hot in the carafe and makes a decent pot of coffee.

    There is not a hot plate so the coffee does not “cook” all day because the carafe is insulated. The coffee stays hot all day.

    I wanted a thermal carafe coffee maker. This one worked out well. The pour spout is much better than my old pot, coffee comes out hot and tasty, stays hot enough for about 4 hours. The fuller the carafe the hotter it stays obviously, but I left a half pot for 4 hours and it was still hot enough. It is not fancy or high tech, but I like that about it. For the price, I might buy another one for my vacation home.
