   Best coffee maker, ever. I just recommended this to a friend and was so surprised to see just 8 reviews, so I have to write this. I made it one of my life missions to make the best coffee ever and I’ve had this coffeemaker about 5 years and I’ve never looked again. Upside – Great coffee, durable, has a pre-brew wetting setting, but most important it makes the water very hot, close to or at the heat of a commercial coffee maker, which is essential for a superb cup. Downside – need to use taller filters. I buy Bunn 8-12 cups filters from coffeemakers.us.com, which is perfect. I’m not a fan of thermal carafes, but it’s fine. I never let coffee sit for hours. Often I make a half pot, but you can’t really make less, as the filter has a flat bottom

   Oh, I grind my own coffee and these days I have to drink decaf. It’s so difficult to make a Starbuck’s type excellent decaf, but I can come pretty close to excellent regular blends, using this machine.

   If you want a superb cup of coffee and don’t want to play with a percolator, buy this excellent product. .

   I discovered this coffee maker in the Roost Hotel in Cleveland and I really liked it. It is designed to brew efficiently and effectively. I really like the thermal carafe, the heating units on my previous coffee makers always overheated the coffee and they got dirty. My wife and I are very pleased with the quality of the brewed coffee. This one only makes 8 cups or 4 good sized mugs per brew which works for us.

   I do like this coffee maker, I had the previous model for like 10 years, which took a standard #4 cone filter you can pick up anywhere. This one however requires a special filter that cannot be purchased anywhere but from Bonavita. The ones you get in the store (8-12 cup basket filters) don’t fit. I tried multiple filters and they were all too small. Your only option is to buy your filters direct from Bonavita and they’re not cheap. I gotta say I’m irritated by this, pretty significantly so.

   Bad design. You cant remove the carafe when the light goes off because the machine continues to drip. Also it worked for about a week and then stopped. It beeps when I plug in the machine but I cant get it to turn on. Already threw out the packaging so I cant return it.
