what our customer say this product:

  1. Anonymous Verified Buyer – 22 March 2024

Bought new but received an used item. There were water in the reservoir.

It took a little tinkering, but we finally got the right combo of coffee, water and settings for our taste. Full brew strength, 12 cup grind, and filled to the 11 cup water line = 10 cups of coffee. We like our coffee on the strong side and this workers. We are also using the gold mesh filter. The little basket barely contains the 12 cup grind and as the company notes, using the mesh filter will result in some grounds in the pot. We found a handy dandy magnetic holder to attach to the side that holds a mini strainer, and scoop/cleaning brush. Putting the machine on a small tray let’s us slide everything out/under the cabinet and guards from accidental leakage…a lesson learned from three previous ninja machines.

This is a 5 star coffee maker but giving only 4 stars as it is Refurbished and I could not find anywhere in the description that I was purchasing a refurbished maker. I am keeping it because I do know that there is nothing else better out there and the savings was HUGE! I should have known by the price because my first purchase 15 years ago was over $350. This is best coffee pot ever if you like fresh ground coffee. My first purchase in 2015 pasted 8 years. My second one is still going strong. I bought one for my nephew and one for my sister because I loved it so much. I just purchased this one for my lake house. Side note: I purchased a Breville 3 years ago just to try it when my kids moved in with us while they build a house. We are huge coffee drinkers! We needed two pots to just kick start the day One for breakfast and one to go. This Cuisinart is not complicated to use and is forgiving if you go slightly over the 12 cup line when filling (my Breville was NOT! You had to stop exactly at the 12 line or you would have a run over and mess) I LOVE fresh ground coffee and love that it has storage for beans. It is easy to clean and makes a perfect cup of coffee. I will own no other brand.

  6. Seaman Verified Buyer – 22 July 2024

The glass carafe cracked after 3 weeks. Requested a replacement and let’s see how long it will last. Be reminded that you cannot use alternative coffee carafe due to its brew-pause function. If one examines the carafe carefully, he will find the glass is too thin. The performance filter is not as good as I thought: There are leakage of coffee powder. The time-saving is not as significant as I thought: Need a lot of clean for filtering system and grinding system (every 7-8). Maybe I am too lazy…but that is why I made this purchase.

  7. Adolph Menjou Verified Buyer – 1 August 2024

I bought my first Cuisinart DGB-700BC coffeemaker in March 2014. In January 2016, the element shorted out and the coffeemaker spewed smoke and died. I replaced it with the same model on January 19, 2016. Today March 16, 2016, after grinding the coffee, the coffeemaker didn’t run water through the filter. So we reset it and ran it again with the grind off. After completing its cycle, caustic smoke started to spill from under the hot plate. I removed the pot, and the plate turned red and spewed fire. I quickly unplugged the pot, but the kitchen was filled with smoke. We will not be buying another one–they are just too dangerous.

  8. Frog Lady Verified Buyer – 17 August 2024

I am a loyal customer to Cuisinart, and particularly love a conical burr grinder coffeemaker that you can use whole beans in. These aren’t cheap. The machine wouldn’t stay on after it ground the beans and made the coffee, so the pot would not stay warm. We called their number. Oh, they were more than willing to replace it, but as you can see by the pictures, you MUST cut the cord and send them a picture before they would process your request; they didn’t want you to return the product. So what do we do while we are without a coffeemaker? Do you go buy another one? Do you go buy coffee at the local fast food place/service station/Starbucks? And how many $$ will that set you back? I’m not happy to say the least. AND there’s no compensation offered to supplement your coffee expenses. I’ve done the surveys and complained.

  9. Rebecca McGrath Verified Buyer – 16 November 2024

I bought this to replace my broken grinder and to eliminate the hassle of having two devices, a grinder and maker. Also to eliminate coffee grind finding its way in the counters every time I opened the grinder. I have now been using this eight months and have mixed feelings about it. It is nice to have it all in one machine, but the daily cleaning process is inconvenient: there is a plastic lid that sits on the coffee filter. It must be removed and rinsed before each use. Ironically, that thing leaves a trail of dirty coffee water and grinds. I also occasionally forget to put it back in the machine. That causes the machine to beep an error warning, which I hopefully can remember. Another issue that I am becoming more adept at remediating early on, is to remove the the upper coffee bean holder and open the Grey door that sits above the basket to check for packed grounds (see photos). I then push the clean filter basket back in, without that too I mentioned earlier, take a chopstick, and then break up and push the packed grounds down into the basket. I follow up by using the brush that comes with the unit to clean up the rest. See photos. I close the Grey door, put the bean bin on and lock it, hopefully remember to reopen the basket below to add the top back on, which I usually do not, and turn it on. And then a beeping error warning goes off … what did I do this time? Is the bean dispenser not on correctly, did I forget the basket top, other? Other than that, it makes great coffee. The controls are easy, the carafe okay, although I wonder how long the snap on plastic top will last after daily use. Otherwise it is simple to use because there are not many controls. There is no temperature control. Just tell it how much water is there and turn it on. It is a lot more putzy than just a regular coffee maker and separate grinder, but is just one device. There is still messy residue from the basket cleaning process. Coffee is great … I guess the gain really comes down to not having a separate and dangerous grinder, but with an inconvenient cleaning process.

  11. Alex Verified Buyer – 3 January 2025

Item came very best up in a package that was clearly opened before and very damaged. Would not recommend

  12. Evelyn C. Champion Verified Buyer – 7 January 2025

We’ve had this coffee maker for a few months and I really like it. It took quite a few pots to get the settings right. We like really strong coffee but I find if you make the brew strength a little less for the amount of water you’re using it works the best. We leave ours set on 10 cups and brew strength 3 but put 12 cups of water. Also, a regular grocery store coffee filter does not work. You’ll have grounds in your coffee every time. You’re not supposed to use the gold basket and a filter. So I found that a commercial sized filter hanging over the edges a little bit keeps the filter from falling down and the grounds from getting into the pot. Also, when you have to clean out the top part under the grinder, it’s best to remove the top piece above the filter and scrape the extra grounds into the used filter.

  13. Ana Verified Buyer – 23 January 2025

Muy fácil de usar y el café recién molido es delicioso

  14. Shopper00 Verified Buyer – 18 February 2025

Only had this for a week but after the last pot, it went back! What a mess. The freshly ground beans ended up all over the place inside and out of the gold filter basket and ended up making their way into the pot. A mouthful of grinds will ruin your morning coffee. This Cuisinart replaces a Capresso that only lasted 2 years. I am not a fan of the basket cover on this unit and can see that this is part of the problem since the grounds are all over that too. Not holding out hope for the replacement….Added pics after the last time and from another morning. Last time was 12 cups on strong and the other was 10 cups on strong.

  15. M. Bell Verified Buyer – 7 March 2025

We got one in our office and it’s a total nightmare. It’s not difficult to use, but it’s not very intuitive either. Every other day I have to explain how to use it, usually to someone who lifted the hopper and accidentally dumped beans into the unit (which I have to fish out, and so will you). Sometimes it makes coffee-tinted water (see pic). For a fully automatic device it requires a tremendous amount of fidgeting. At home I use a scale and a Wilfa to create pour-overs into a Chemex, but I understand that office coffee is a different kind of thing. I have no idea who bought this for us, but I hope they’re not offended when I kick it down the stairs. I come here to coffeemakers.us.com and am shocked to learn this hateful device is $160?!!?!! If that’s your budget, just click on past this guy. The SCAA (coffee certification fancy people) has a dozen or so approved coffee makers, several of which are in this price range. Do yourself a favor and get one of those. They’re certified because they make better coffee, period. If you like your brew enough to be considering things like the type of grind, do it right and skip this overpriced time waster. SCAA list: http://www.scaa.org/?page=cert2

The Cuisinart Fully Automatic Burr Grind & Brew Coffeemaker is a game-changer for coffee lovers! With its built-in burr grinder, brewing freshly ground coffee every morning is effortless and yields an unbeatable flavor. The programmable 24-hour timer is a lifesaver for busy mornings, ensuring my coffee is ready when I wake up. The grind control and strength selector offer excellent customization, allowing me to tweak the intensity and volume to perfection. The 12-cup capacity is ideal for when I have guests over, while the 2-4 cup feature works well for smaller batches. I appreciate the thoughtful design, from the sealed bean hopper that keeps beans fresh to the gold-tone permanent filter and charcoal water filter that ensure every cup tastes pure and smooth. Cleanup is straightforward, and the included auto-shutoff and brew-pause function add extra convenience. This coffeemaker is not just functional but also reliable, with a robust build that feels built to last. It’s perfect for anyone serious about their coffee. Highly recommend!

  18. Holly Verified Buyer – 12 March 2025

I was very disappointed with the brew strength. It used twice as many beans as my old grind/brew coffeemaker, and yielded brewed coffee that was dark caramel in color and translucent when held up to the light, even at the highest “strength” setting. In my opinion, strong coffee should be nearly black when held up to the light. The problem seemed to be the grind, which was coarser than even store-bought ground coffee. I thought it might even be a defective unit, but Cuisinart customer service was poor. They never returned my emails, phone calls to customer service had a wait time greater than 20 minutes, and when I finally got a representative, he proceeded first to read the troubleshooting tips right from the manual (which I’d already done), and then challenged my suggestion that it might be a defective unit (“Does it grind?” “Well, yes, but — ” “Does it brew?” “Well, yes, but –“). He finally offered to replace the unit, but by that time I had decided to just return it. Even if it brewed better coffee, it was still messy and somewhat complicated to use, and the poor customer service was the last straw. I’d give it one star, but feel I have to give it the benefit of the doubt, since it may indeed have been defective and I declined the warranty replacement. If you buy this, I hope you have better luck!

I just purchased this coffee maker and opened the package to find that the coffee machine has old beans and grinds all over the lid and the bag the machine sits in. This is disgusting and completely unacceptable coffeemakers.us.com!!!! I spent over $100 and expected to receive something new. This is terrible! I can’t even get past the dirty machine to try and use it!!

Our replacement Cuisinart Grind and Brew DGB-700BC from July 2016 literally just went up in smoke–like the one it replaced. My brother’s 1st one of these also burnt up, but his current (2nd) one has lasted 6 years. If you have one of these, please do not leave it on and unattended. It is a fire hazard. I called Cuisinart customer service andI was told that normally, customers cannot request that a different model be sent to them until a 3rd replacement fails. I refused a 3rd replacement because I am afraid to accept the risk of the fire hazard this model poses. I suggested that this model be recalled, so the representative sent my complaint up to corporate. An answer is expected in 3-5 business days. It is truly a shame because this model grinds the beans and makes delicious coffee!!!

  21. trushatty Verified Buyer – 3 April 2025

We bought this coffee maker to replace our *8 year old similar model Cuisinart grind and brew*. Like the other reviews, 3 months into daily use the unit CAUGHT FIRE in our kitchen! Smoke pouring from under the unit, like the other reviews. My husband grabbed the coffee maker and ran outside with it. (See pic below for it’s new location in our driveway) Scary! I’m extremely disappointed in Cuisinart. Apparently they’ve forgotten how to make a quality product that at least passes the bar of *not catching fire in your kitchen.* Buy at your own risk!

  22. Albert Flasher Verified Buyer – 7 April 2025

I have used a Melitta Mill & Brew for about the last 20 years, in which time I am on my second machine. I have recently had a problem with my second brew basket wearing out, so I figured it’s time for a new coffee maker. I received my Cuisinart DGB-700BC Grind & Brew today and found it fairly easy to set up. After setting the time, I ran 12 cups of water through it, using one of the paper filters that came with it. I then threw that filter away, rinsed out the pot and let things dry a little. While I did this, I soaked the water filter for fifteen minutes; after running the initial pot of water through it, I rinsed it off and installed it in the filter holder then into the water reservoir. I then added fresh beans from Rwanda, set the brew strength to Strong and brewed a four cup pot. Although it seems like it used a lot of beans for a four cup pot, I was amazed at how well this first pot of coffee tasted! Tomorrow morning I’ll make an 8 cup pot for the real test. If this coffee maker has consistently good coffee, ready for me when I get up every morning, that is all I can expect and I will be very happy with it. Things I am not thrilled about: I don’t think this is the best looking coffee maker on the market, it’s large, bulky looking and the water reservoir is in the back. I would prefer a completely black unit with larger display. My vision is poor at 20/200; the digital display is tiny, it’s not back lit and is hard to see, especially for setting it up. Once set up it should not be a problem until I have to make changes due to Day Light Saving Time and/or power outages force me to make changes. These negatives are far outweighed by the promise of a great cup of coffee! I buy a variety of coffee beans from different countries around the world, so I may order an extra bean hopper to keep different beans in, then I can switch beans easily. Update: It’s been a little over a week and I’m still trying to get this thing figured out 100%, but the coffee is the best I’ve ever made and that is a huge plus! This thing uses a lot of beans, even for a four cup pot; but that four cup pot, using beans from Rwanda at a Light City Roast, set on STRONG is one of the best cups of coffee I’ve ever tasted. In my coffee adventures with this machine I have found that for every day drinking pleasure a lighter coffee is desired. I set the strength to medium, set it to 8 cups but use 10 cups of water and it’s still pretty strong, but that’s where I am at for now. This machine makes great tasting coffee…have fun with it. I’ve attached a photo showing how it looks in my kitchen; I’m getting used to it.

  23. squirrel Verified Buyer – 7 April 2025

Worked okay for 4 months, then died in the worse possible way, some kind of short circuit or faulty thermostat with an intense melted plastic smell,. (FIRE HAZARD) It looks fancy but really is one of the most basic coffee machines. No grind setting. no temperature setting. literally just ON/OFF, and amount to grind. And it thinks it is smarter than you, at some point wanted to mix one sort of pre-ground coffee with another sort of whole bean coffee, so had equivalent 6 cups worth of pre-ground coffee (6x7g) in the basket, set it to 2cups on the front, since that is how you set the amount of coffee coming from the grinder. For a total of 8cups worth of coffee, which is the amount of water I put in the back. and the machine decided to stop brewing after running 4-6 cups of water instead of the entire 8 cups. and there is nothing you can do. you would think you could then just set it on “no grind” and run the remaining two cups, but instead it just beeps none stop at you until you open the basket part, which is very hot then, but only way to stop the beeping besides unplugging it altogether. So mixing ground and whole bean is not very doable without workaround… THE BEST PART (ALMOST FIRE): one day (today as of this writing), was running just coffee from the grinder like normal, with 10 cups of water, it stopped after 2 cups, so I pressed the “no-grind” and started it again… nothing happened, then 5 minutes later, randomly started brewing again, finished it, and right after followed with a very intense smell of burning plastic and probably the non-stick surface material, stunk the entire appartement. if I had not unplugged it, I’m pretty sure IT WOULD HAVE CAUGHT ON FIRE. The bottom of the glass pot has dark marks from the intense heat the hot plate started releasing. (it looks like an unclean pot, but it is clean, this marking never happened before). I’m not touching it and returning it to get a different brand of coffee maker, CuisineArt usually has decent quality stuff. but a FIRE HAZARD machine is not what I want to use on a daily basis.

I brought this as a wedding present and my friend absolutely love it!

  25. Rollin Shultz Verified Buyer – 8 April 2025

Pros: Easy to understand Instructions. Easy to set up and use. Well designed components. Plastic components are well molded and have an aesthetic and consistent finish. Coffee brewing delivers great taste. Con: The LCD screen has NO back lighting. That is my only complaint! It is difficult to read the screen if the kitchen lighting is directly above the counter top.Thankfully once the machine is set up, it is no longer needed for my usage style. I saw some reviewers complain that the water reservoir is difficult to fill. I find that to be untrue. In my case, I do not use the pot to fill the reservoir, I use a iced tea pitcher, which is only 5″ in diameter, so basically, tall & skinny. In the photo you will see I have the coffeemaker sitting in a common cafeteria tray. It makes it easy to turn the entire coffemaker to the side so that the reservoir is easy to access. It also is a anti mess feature for those inevitable “duh days” where I may do something dumb like brew 12 cups while there is still some coffee in the pot. The tray can capture a lot of overflow. I also saw some reviews that the grinder was loud, but it seems half as loud as my stand alone Mr Coffee Burr Grinder. I brewed coffee at 4:30 this morning and when my wife got up for work I asked if she heard it and she said no. I always had to take my Mr Coffee grinder in through the laundry room and into the powder room to grind, if I forgot to do it the night before. It is probably the best coffemaker I have owned so far and at age 64, I have owned many appliances. Let me say, I was an engineer, so I constantly evaluate every product I use for how well it is designed and there are very few I really respect. If it had a back lit screen, I would have definitely given it five stars.
