I wanted to try out a French press, and this was the one. It is very attractive, seems well made, and brewed the coffee well. I made two mugs of coffee with this, and found very few grounds in the pressed coffee. Easy to use. The instructions are a little confusing, as in one place it said to brew for 4 minutes, and in another place it said to brew for I believe 9 minutes. A quick Google search revealed a consensus of about 6 to 8 minutes brew time for French press, depending upon your exact grind and preference. I enjoyed trying this contraption and it made good coffee, but I’ll probably stick with my pour-over coffee since it is easier to clean up after.

Regrettably, after two hand washing I noticed that because the glass is almost sealed into the metal bands holding the handles in place, the bottom of the carafe has cracked along the base. I was afraid of breakage or damage if placed in a dishwasher so avoided that. While I don’t mind hand washing, the way this is made, I fear that this construction will not warrant re-ordering. Could not return due to two time usage.

This French press is a very attractive addition to the kitchen. The unit can make a full quart of coffee at a time. I love this because it fits my thermos perfectly. It filters about 99 percent of the grounds which is much better than my last unit. This is a great french press made with Borosilicate glass and stainless steel parts. It is virtually maintenance-free thanks to these durable parts. The dual steel mesh filter does a great job filtering all but the finest of the coffee grinds which is inherently part of drinking from a french press brew. This addition is rather subtle, adding body and richness to your coffee without bitterness. Lastly, the included manual provides a good set of instructions including the size of the coffee grinds. I’d recommend this press to others based on its functionality and price (as of Nov. 2023).

I have always wanted to try a French Press coffee maker but never have until now. First off this type of coffee maker is not like a drip where you load, press start and get coffee. It is slow and fiddley, with a lot of variables in order to get a cup of coffee. I found that this one works well and makes a good cup of coffee. Well worth the wait. The plunger fits good and tight while the mesh limits the grounds in the cup. Cleaning the press is a lot like making the cup of coffee as you have to take the plunger apart and drain the pot through a strainer to get the grounds. However, this coffee maker was easy to take apart and clean. If you have the time, this French Press will give you a good cup of coffee and at this price point a good one to try for the first time.
