   Machine is less than a year old, I’m on my second one already and about to throw this one out as well. When it decides it wants to brew, sometimes I get clear coffee, sometimes I get a shot glass amount, and mostly it says add water when it’s completely filled. I’ve wasted so many pods on this crappy unit. The technology on these units are awful, I’m about to throw it out today and buy a Keurig.

   I love this coffee maker. The thermos keeps the coffee hot for hours so no more burning coffee in a glass carafe. The extra one cup attachment I have yet to try so cannot comment. The 10 cup tank is perfect for me and my family. It also is programmable. So I can wake up to the smell of my favorite blend. And, it is slim so it takes up less counter space. LOVE. LOVE. LOVE I give it a 10.

   Keeps coffee hot for hours. No hot plate to worry about or waste electricity. Compact for dual use. Update: dropping a star, after owning 3 of these pots, all three drip from the seam between the carafe and the plastic. Its minor but annoying when you pour away from the countertop. To also add, my first one overflowed and got into the control panel causing the leds to go wonky. Make sure carafe is empty before starting a new pot, that’s on me but the controls should be able to handle an overflow being in such a precarious position under the basket.

   Like many people worldwide I love my morning coffee. This brewer gives me the option to brew a full 10 cup (or less) thermal vacuum insulated Stainless Steel (SS) Carafe using a filterless basket (I do use paper filters). I can also make a “To Go” mug or tall travel cup (my own) with a coffee pod or loose coffee. I love the options to choose what I want! Excellent! This maker has a lot of pieces which I hand washed prior to use (Picture 1). The instructions recommend washing everything monthly which is going to be a chore. Some of these parts could be top rack dishwasher safe but even so, I wish things could be a bit easier. The SS Carafe is well insulated. I brewed a pot this AM and the coffee was at 187 degrees on brewing, a standard temp. After drinking 2/3rds of the pot over 90 minutes the final pour was at 145 degrees (inside the carafe not in a cold cup). That was acceptable. The carafe pours without dripping but a tad slowly i.e. the coffee stream dispensed is small. This appliance does NOT have a hot plate to keep the coffee hot as do standard glass carafe brewers. I can remove the carafe during brewing to pour a cup without coffee continuing to be drip…that won’t work with a travel mug. Brew time for a full pot on strong was about 7 minutes, pretty much what any coffee maker takes. The final burps and hisses were a bit noisier than my usual brewer but let me know the pot was done. The instructions include a Quick Start Guide which is easy to understand. Note that the brewer switches automatically from selecting number of cups (4-6-8-10) to ounces (6-8-10-12) depending if the pod holder is in the filter basket. I cannot choose “ounces” without the pod holder in place so even without a pod in it making a 12 oz. mug will require picking the minimum 4 cups. The “MIN” mark on the water reservoir is at 10 ounces as I measured and is graduated in cups. It sounds more confusing than it is in practice. The water reservoir has the option of adding a charcoal water filter if I wish with 1 included. I use Br*ta water so did not use it plus Seattle has excellent tap water. The clear plastic reservoir is removable to fill; it is easier to pour directly into it. The lid is fully removable. Sliding the basket in is best done with the carafe off the base. It is difficult otherwise. I did like being able to use a K-Cup Pod, or loose coffee in the provided “filtered pod” which has a fine mesh screen, OR my own reusable SS Pod. The 2 add my own coffee pod holders are in Picture 5 – note the SS one with the S*mpliCup paper filter is NOT included but something of mine. Picture 6 is with a standard K-Cup style prepackaged coffee pod. Picture 7 with my tall boy travel mug in use – plenty of room to fit it and it is ~8 inches tall with a 2.75″ base diameter. Great! I Recommend this Mr. Coffee Brand Pod + 10 Cup Brewer. It has many useful features and makes good coffee. I hope you’ve found the information and my review helpful.

   I Loved the size of this coffee maker but after less than two weeks of use it started blowing up coffee pods and quit brewing after making 2 ozs. It has a very flimsy brewing mechanism. Not a good choice.

   Does not make good coffee. It melted the k-cup pods and I taste plastic in the coffee. The poor over feature does not work either. The water only hits the center of the coffee grounds, and much of the grounds are still dry after brewing a full pot of coffee. The result is a weak part of coffee and a waste of time. This model is going in the trash.

    The seal where the reservoir is faulty just like so many other reviewers have stated. I’ve only had mine two and a half months and it leaked the first time I used it because the seal was smashed when it had been boxed and shipped. Thought I had fixed it but after two months of everyday use it’s now leaking every day there’s any water left in the reservoir. Thankfully I have a dish mat underneath it or else my counter would be ruined from cups of water just pouring out from the bottom. It was good while it lasted. I’ve contacted Mr coffee about the warranty but haven’t heard anything yet.

    While the space-saving design may seem practical at first glance the engineering of the product is very sub-standard making it much too expensive considering the cleanup required after every cup.

    1. Portions are never correct and either overfill or mostly underfill the cup (flow meter), which affects flavor, with no discernable difference between standard and strong mode.
    2. Overpressurizing the pod often blows coffee all over the machine or causes a failure in the brew cycle. Reseating the coffee basket often resolves the latter.
    3. Excessive leakage during and after the brew cycle sprays coffee all over the machine and adjacent surfaces. Post-brew cycle leakage often exceeds the capacity of the overfill reservoir.
    4. The carafe is inadequately insulated resulting in cold coffee in under 30 minutes.
    5. A static water reservoir means an additional container is required for filling.
    6. Due to coffee leakage the buttons located in the base of the coffee maker gum up regularly.

    I read all the recent reviews and was a little hesitant to reorder the same model from Mr. Coffee but I did. I replaced the same model of coffee maker that I had purchased 6 years ago. I make coffee at least once a day so that is a lot of usage over the 6 years. It started to leak water and also stop in the middle of brewing saying to add water. I have had this one for almost a month and so far, absolutely no issue. It is a space saver on the counter, the slot for coffee is front loaded so I don’t have to pull it away from the cabinet to be able to lift the lid to load the coffee. Admittedly I do not use the single serve option. The carafe keeps the coffee very hot and it doesn’t have that burnt taste from when you have a glass pot on the hotplate. If this lasts as long as the last one did I’ll purchase it again!

    Update: after a couple months I found a couple issues that aren’t deal breakers to me but might matter to you. If you’re making a single cup, it really needs to be a tall travel cup. If you use a regular mug, coffee splatters all around as it splashes into the cup. I use a teacup and saucer and I happen to keep a candle sitting nearby so I use it to boost the cup height and avoid splashes. You could probably also use an upside down mug, etc. The lid to the carafe holds water from the side. I’d you drain it dry upside down, it seems completely dry until you tilt it and then a good amount of water comes pouring out from the back all over. Its kind of a lot of water too. It’s probably more than a shot glass worth because the brawny paper towel I used was soaked all the way through to dripping after I wiped up all the water. This coffee maker is very compact for a 10 cupper. I currently have it on a tiny side table in my office. I plan to get a bar cart and make it into a coffee station cart. This coffee maker is attractive and doesn’t stand out too much. I like that it blends in with my black planters. The carafe feels solid without being too heavy. It has a sealing lid so you can literally travel with the pot. I haven’t tested it but I think it would keep coffee hot for quite a long time since it’s double walled stainless. The lid allows coffee through with the press of a button. The boiling process is way quieter than my electric kettle. I’ve used this with k cups and my own single serve reusable filter. It come with a reusable single cup filter but I just like mine and it worked fine. The strong brew button slows the brewing a little (duh) but it’s a fantastic feature. It’s so easy to choose the size of cup you want to brew. One button click for the strong brew, keep your size or change sizes with a few presses of a button. The machine beeps when the cup is finished brewing which is perfect for me. I often do things and walk away and forget about them. The beep reminds me to go get my cup of coffee when it’s done brewing. I do wish maybe it came with a little platform or something for making a regular mug of coffee because if you’re using a standard coffee mug and not a travel tumbler or something, it can get a little splashy. The reservoir is easy to fill and clean and the pieces move quickly and simply for filling water, changing the brew basket/filter, etc. the clock was a breeze to set. I’m a manual reader and I haven’t needed the manual yet. Highly recommended purchase. Please hit the button if this info was helpful.

    Makes great coffee, lightweight, fits under the counter. Water receptacle is easy to fill and maintain. However, tall travel mugs do not fit, and when using coffee cups for a single cup, it splatters around the base. I just keep a towel to wipe up after each use. Edit:. It is done with life.

    We’ve had this coffeemaker for 14 months. It leaks about every other time. The leak is caused by the water container not creating a sufficiently tight connection with the coffeemaker itself. We try pressing down on the water container, cleaning the seal, and so on. Nothing works. Water just drains out onto the counter through a drain port near the seal. This has led to one wooden cutting board ruined through being soaked in water. This seems to be a manufacturing or design issue. Although I’ve had Mr. Coffee brand coffeemakers over the years, this may be our last.

    I love the machine; it brews 10 cup pots, pods and ground coffee, has pause and pour, timed brew and it takes up the same amount of space as a normal coffee maker – the best of all of my worlds. HOWEVER; The carafe leaks when you pour coffee and IT IS NOT fresh coffee running down from the spout. It leaks between the stainless steel and black stationary handle band any way you tip it. This is sometimes a fresh coffee leak and sometimes an old black gunky leak. My guess is that there is an issue with the seal inside the carafe but it isn’t like a thermos I can take apart or screw the top on tighter. Whatever it is, it makes a mess and looks awful/unappetizing. Maybe this is what the other reviews that say it leaks are talking about?? AAA+ for the machine FAIL for the carafe design.

    Like many other users of this coffeemaker, I’ve had the leaking problem. I’ve followed the troubleshooting tips that have been offered by others users. I thought I had it solved when I removed the filter holder. Alas, it has begun to leak water again. I cannot leave water in the machine overnight to use programming. Other than the leaking, I’ve been quite satisfied. Mr coffee, should I replace and try again with a new one?

    The first coffeemaker I received leaked terribly. In trying to figure out what was wrong, I saw that the seal between the water tank and the coffeemaker was really messed up. I sent it back and got a replacement. The replacement came with some really specific pieces (bright red) that are meant to protect that very seal, and the first coffeemaker had not come with those. I think I got a repackaged coffeemaker the first time? The second coffeemaker works like a dream. This coffeemaker is the ONLY coffeemaker I found (after a lot of searching) that will let you set a timer to brew a single serving or a whole pot. Others with timers have their single serving functions separate and will only let your set up an entire carafe of coffee to brew later. It’s maddening, their single serve functions are like an entire separate machine just slapped onto the side of a regular coffeemaker. Anyway, I like the coffee this makes, and it’s working well for me. ** EDIT ** After a few days it started making very small amounts of coffee intermittently. I tried everything and gave it every chance. It was responsible for several very frustrating mornings. I’m the first person to assume I’m the one who did something wrong. I tried to recreate every scenario where it had only spit out 4 oz of coffee when I asked for 12 oz. Sometimes it would make a full cup, sometimes it wouldn’t. Nothing helped, there’s something wrong with this machine.

    Seems to be an issue with the seal on the coffee maker where the reservoir joins the machine. I can fill the reservoir & leave it on the counter (even overnight) & it won’t leak. But when I place it on the machine to make coffee water starts coming out the bottom. Mr. Coffee’s response was a form letter about cleaning the coffee maker & checking a hose connection. There is no hose visible on this machine. I believe the seal on the machine where the water tank sits (shown in second photos) is malformed. I will try contacting the company again

    Just got this coffee maker a few weeks ago, it arrived fast and as described, well packed. Seems well made. Love the size and look. It saves a ton of space! I brewed our first batch, it was perfect and very fast compared to other coffee makers I’ve had in the past. It was Super easy to operate and instructions were very clear and foolproof. I have used the “pod” feature and it’s amazing, easy, and perfect for on-the-go, just be sure to push how many ounces you want though! If you don’t you’ll get a small amount that will not fill your cup! . I measured how many cups you can make since many people complained it was very little but you have to push the button that says how many cups or ounces (when using the pod feature) you want to brew, it starts at 4 up to 10 cups. I can see why some may think it brews fewer cups, the pot is not as big as the glass carafes, so it will have less depth and space. It’s made that way since it’s a steel well-insulated pot to keep coffee warm. The coffee was super hot and it will remain hot for a long time in the pot, even though the plate is not heating. One negative thing I guess would be how slow it pours from the pot to my cup, a solution to that is removing the lid so it can flow faster to my cup when I’m ready to serve it. But other than that I loved it so far. Nice to know I’ll never break a carafe again! Also love the feature to make one cup at a time! The pods are expensive so it’s nice to have both features when you can’t afford the pods. And so sleek looking. I highly recommend it.

    Garbage!! Ordered one and couldn’t get past the “Add Water” button. Even tried the recommendations (attached) that I found on line. FYI these recommendations were included in the replacement I ordered – but they didn’t work on either coffee makers. Mr. Coffee apparently doesn’t know how to make coffee anymore. I had high hopes for this coffee maker as my husband likes his K-cups and I like a pot of coffee. This was going to meet both of our needs but instead it was a bust. 2 coffee makers returned within the week.

    This is a lightweight, narrow, easy to set and use all in one machine. After using it for a couple of months I’ve had the chance to try every feature it has. CORD LENGTH The only thing I don’t care for is the short cord, but I see it’s removable and likely Mr Coffee has longer cords available. Usable cord length 24″ from back of the machine to where the 110 plug starts. CARAFE This is my favorite. I make a pot at 8:00 a.m. pour myself a cup and get busy doing other stuff and then came back at 5:15 to pour another cup and it was still steaming hot, got to love that! It pours without dripping, yippee, and the handle has a nice ergonomic grip. The lid is somewhat complex in its build so hand washing it would be the only way to go, it does have a translucent silicone gasket you can remove. The machine is equipped with a lever so if you remove the pot while it’s still brewing it will plug the ground basket so it doesn’t drip everywhere. REMOVABLE TANK AND FILTER The tank lifts straight up so if you have it under a cabinet you’ll need to pull the machine forward. It doesn’t leak when removing, but if you stall while lifting it will spill a few drops. It has a comfortable grip on the back of the tank and easily handled with the tank lid on. The fancy filter, I say that since it’s not just carbon, is in a little cage with a long tab that snaps into the bottom of the tank. It has a yellow month dial to remind you when you changed it last. They reccomend monthly or 30 pots. It will last you longer depending on how frequently you use it. The cost of the fancy filters runs $10 for 2 pack, or did at the time of this review. CLOCK AND DELAYED BREWING This is the easiest one to set out of all I’ve had. Setting the time: HOUR and AM/PM- Press the hour button the display starts to flash. Next short press to select or long press for it to run through fast, let go when it gets to the correct time. It will continue to flash then go solid if you do nothing or you can now set the minutes. MINUTES- while it’s still flashing from setting the hour, press the minute button and do the same as for the hour. BREW LATER- is the same as setting the hour and minute but press the ” Brew Later button 1st. There will be no confusion because the words “set brew later” with illuminate under the clock. If it already has the words “brew later” under the clock then there is already a time set. If you want to cancel or turn that off press the “Brew Later” button and it will remove the program. POD/ TUMBLER ACCOMMODATION AND FULL POT BASKET POD- It has a removable basket assembly that the pod snaps into and sits in the regular coffee basket. If you have this assembly in and placed on the machine, it will detect it and only allow you to choose 6, 8,10 or 12 ounces, NOT CUPS. It also comes with a reusable pod to use your own coffee or tea instead of buying commercially made pods. The dispenser is tall enough to accommodate my 20oz stainless steel double wall vacuum insulated tumbler with about an inch to spare. FULL POT BASKET- once you remove the pod assembly and install it in the machine, it will detect this and only allow you to choose 4,6,8 or 10 cups NOT ounces. The basket has and anti drip mechanism so when you pull it off the machine you aren’t dripping all the way to the trash/compost can. I am very pleased with this maker, it fits not only our coffee/tea lifestyle, packed with features, but is light enough to take it in our RV and doesn’t hog alot of counterspace.

    Was so excited to finally get a super fancy Mr. Coffee machine and at a steal since all I paid was $79.80. Well that all changed when I jumped out of bed like it was Christmas morning to greet my new coffee maker. Thinking of all the yummy drinks I was goin to make, just to hear rattling from the box. Figured “oh, well no biggie I can glue it back together 😊” and just then as I was taking the final packaging layer off (the plastic bag) the prices of plastic were getting bigger and bigger. Took the coffee pot out to see the real damage, it won’t stand on its own unless the coffee pot is in there AND the entire bottom is busted 😱😭 This right here is why I don’t buy nice things
