   I’ve had so many coffee presses in the past. The glass ones break at the most inconvenient time. One metal press that I use for camping and tried some gimmicks. This has been the best one yet! My favorite two things are, first they engraved an arrow on the lid so you can align and pour easily. Second, the actual press. The screen is high quality and very fine filtering. It also cleans bett than any I’ve ever owed. No disassembling. Just lay it in the top rack of the dishwasher and normal wash cycle.

   I’ve been using this stainless steel Secura French Press Coffee Maker for a month now and I’m very satisfied with the overall performance of this product. In fact, the screen on this press filters out more coffee sediment than any other press I’ve owned which is a VERY favorable feature to me. I recently switched to a stainless steel French press from glass simply due to my falling back to sleep sometimes after making coffee, and then, waking up to an undesirably warm brew. This press is insulated and does keep the coffee hot until pressed for at least 3 hours by my measure. I haven’t specifically tested it, but have woken up to hot coffee(I also prime the press with boiling water before brewing) after falling back to sleep for a few hours. I, of course, did my due diligence and settled on this particular French press on account the many good reviews, as well as, because it met my criteria. The concerns I had when I purchased this press were to do with a few things I had read about this and a few other stainless steel presses. First, I was concerned about being able to twist off the screen hardware without having to use pliers and risk marring up the plunger shaft. I did experience the plunger knob twisting off instead of the screen hardware, but simply made sure the plunger knob was twisted on tighter than the screen hardware. So far, this has worked out just fine. Similarly, I make a point not to needlessly over-tighten the screen hardware. The second concern had to do with the plunger knob apparently breaking on some units. Again, I avoid needlessly over-tightening the screen hardware or the plunger knob…I mean, it’s a coffee maker! How tight does the hardware REALLY need to be to make good coffee? Thirdly, I read that water had gotten trapped in the lid and would not come out. On purpose, I only hand wash this press, but even so, I’ve had occasions when rinsing the lid where water has gotten down into the lid (no big deal). Again, this is a coffee press. There is no need for engineered precision or tolerances. On that note, the hole in the lid where the plunger shaft slides through has enough room to allow for trapped water to easily drain out (see picture). I suppose it’s possible other units may have had less room between the plunger shaft and lid preventing water from draining, but mine drains fine. Lastly, I had concerns about internal body rust and faulty welds where the handle attaches to the body. I’ve only had my press for a month, but I do my humanly best to take care of it. It gets used EVERY day and sometimes twice per day. Sometimes it gets rinsed out right away, and sometimes the grounds sit in it over night until I rinse it out the next day to make more coffee. So far, this press is a champ, and is my absolute favorite press of all the ones I’ve ever owned.

   I wanted a way of making coffee without using plastics and this is the perfect solution. Nice weight stainless steel feels like great quality very easy to use. The size is just right for two small cups of coffee or my larger 14 to 16 ounce cup. I have every morning with leftovers Does not add any strange taste to my coffee. Matter fact I think my coffee taste better and the thickness keeps the coffee hot until I pour. It would definitely recommend this for anybody. I use this almost every day.

   Fun and easy to use! Makes delicious coffee. I bought the 34 oz and wish I had gotten the bigger one though. This says medium sized, but for reference it will fill a 20 oz Yeti and a 12 oz coffee mug (enough for my husband and I in the morning). If you drink multiple cups or have friends or family over, I would definitely invest in the 50 oz.

   Bought my first one January 2019 and it was by far the best French Press ever. It finally lost its superior insulating properties after 5 years of hard use (would keep coffee hot for hours). Just bought a replacement this January 2024 and it did not insulate nearly as good as the first so I returned it thinking it was faulty and bought a third unit January 2024. Unfortunately this third one also does not insulate nearly as good as the first so the manufacturing appears to have changed. I’m going to keep it as it is still the best at making coffee, only now I have to transfer the coffee to an insulated thermos to keep it hot – thus the 4 stars.

   I’ve been using this practically daily for 20 months with NO issues. I’m a very clumsy gal, and I used to go through a French press every few months, to *maybe* half a year if I was super careful and lucky. The fact that it’s going on two years is just so beautiful to me. And it DOES keep the coffee hotter longer. I can go back for a second cup an hour later and not need to reheat it. The handle shows no signs of coming loose. The plunger pieces easily unscrew and screw back in after every wash. I cannot speak to putting it in a dishwasher (since I don’t have one) but it’s pretty easy to clean by hand. I just take it apart, rinsing with water does most of the work, and then I’ll use a soapy sponge on the metal parts. Careful with the screens, they can catch fibers from your rag or sponge. Once rinsed, I just let it air dry. On occasional lazy days, (like if I forgot to wash it the night before and I’m too impatient/tired in the morning, I’ll even just rinse it in-tact and get on with my bad self. It’s also a nice larger size than most, so I can get three LARGE cups out of it. Or four small/regular cups. Which is great for when my husband is home too. I 100% say this is well worth your investment.

    I picked this stainless steel coffee press because I thought it was made in the USA but it is not and I didn’t like that. The description gave the impression that it was. Unfortunately there is a tiny piece of metal, I’m assuming it’s metal since that what it sounds like, stuck between the insulated walls so it rattles when pouring or cleaning the kettle. Annoying. Poor workmanship? I decided not to return it. I like this one better than the glass one that I did return. The coffee doesn’t stay hot too very long unless your a quick drinker. Overall it’s okay.

    I used to use the glass French press but it was difficult to clean the beaker and sometimes it would break so started using the metal French coffee press. Secura brand is the best one for me. It has a directional arrow on lid, making it easier to use. I have used different brands but try a Secura first 34oz or 50oz to use when you have company. When you order from coffeemakers.us.com buy the replacement screens at the same time. You should change them every 6 months

    Call me impressed by this Secura French Press 17oz. The 304 stainless steel has some weight to it. The walls are thick and the handle feels just right. Even the lid is impressively designed with a lip that controls the pour as long as you have it properly aligned with the designated arrow. I spent 30 minutes searching top french press reviews online and the secura 34 oz was in the top 5 in a few of them. I was looking for a level 4 filtration french press which this one is not. I brew CrioBru cacao and was worried about grounds escaping since CrioBru recommends using a level 4. Secura worked like a charm. Many reviewers state 34 oz is the perfect size. For me, since i use a 50% ratio of brew and dairy alternative the 17oz is plenty big. I do recommend filling up the carafe with hot water as you wait for the kettle to boil to preheat the stainless. This unit comes with 2 spare mesh filters and coffeemakers.us.com does sell replacements. This is the only part that will eventualy need replacing if you’re not a gentle cleaner. As always its best to clean up after use to avoid staining. Happy brewing.

    As a former barista, I have worked with a lot–A LOT–of press pots. When the glass portion of my low-end (home) Bodum French press broke, I took to coffeemakers.us.com to shop for a reasonably priced replacement. The first one I purchased (and immediately returned) was about the same price as the Secura, and claimed to be made entirely of glass and stainless steel. However, the top was some sort of no specified plastic tinted to *look* like stainless steel. I returned it and bought the Secura instead. The Secura actually is 100% stainless steel. It is so well assembled that no plastic or rubber pieces are needed to hold things in place. Sturdy, well-insulated, I’m not one to polish off more than a single cup of coffee in the morning, so I’m used to coming back to the cold remainder of my press pot, and settling for an afternoon iced coffee. However, after coming back to my Secura over four hours later, I was surprised at how warm it was, due to the double wall steel. It won’t burn your hands, but it will warm them up. Speaking of burning your hands…you won’t. The insulated walls do get a little warm, but the heat from the scalding water in the pot itself is not transferred to the handle, or the top press knob. In general, I recommend grinding your own coarse grounds, but the filtration screen is strong enough and fine enough for compatibility with pre-ground store coffee, or evening espresso ground (which is all I happened to have on hand when my Secura arrived). The filter screen assembly is the only piece that comes apart. Handle, top press knob, and everything else is solidly constructed steel. No flimsy screws or breakable pieces. The lid is hollow which may seem a bit awkward, but it is solidly constructed and sealed to keep water, coffee grounds, mold etc out. I’ve attempted to show these parts in the photos included in this review. Please pardon my messy press pot. It’s currently (and pretty much always) in use. What better way to write an coffeemakers.us.com review than over a fresh hot cup of coffee? Wish I had gone with the Secura first. Other press pots at this price point aren’t worthy of purchase.

    In my research of this coffee pot, it was mentioned the workmanship quality was not great. As you can see from the picture the paint is flaking off in less than 2 years. Of course the paint job does not affect its ability to keep the coffee hotter than if the pot had been glass. So I enjoy my hot coffee without looking too closely at the pot itself.

    I’ve had every invention known to man on my quest for the perfect cup of coffee and well, I’ve found it. GOLD! I struck gold with this bad boy. My last toy was the Keurig, my least favorite of them all, its failed me miserably. When I say I’ve had every coffee making contraption out there, I mean it, and you diehard coffee connoisseurs know what I’m talking about. I decided to go back to far, far away and get another percolator because after searching my life through in memoryville I believed that the best cup of coffee I had produced came from a percolator. But this time, I wasn’t willing to toss money to the wind and go with my gut. I decided to do something I hadn’t ever done before. Research. After reading, my least favorite thing to do in life, a million different reviews and watching I don’t even know how many videos on the art of coffee making and consumption, I started really feeling the French press. Again unwilling to just buy without going to the next level still again and researching the best presses money could buy you, and there are a LOT of choices and a LOT of opinions, after many hours of sweating and reading and considering and fear of making a wrong decision, I decided to give this stainless steel French press a try. For several reasons I chose the stainless steel over glass. This puppy is insulated, first. It’s solid, tough and heavy; very well made. Second. It won’t break, Third. It won’t break, fourth and it won’t break, fifth! After all of my video tutelage I was nearly an expert before this little 8th wonder of the world arrived yesterday. I got right on it. I took apart the press and thoroughly washed all of the parts and put on a pan of water and began grinding my beans. As soon as the water came to a boil I let it cool down until it stopped bubbling. I scooped three rounded tablespoons of my medium course grounds into the press, pored in about two inches of water over the grounds and stirred. Then, I let it sit for two minutes to brew. Then I poured the rest of my hot water I in the press and put the lid on slightly pushing the press down just in order to create a seal, and then, I waited. I put my timer on for 5 minutes. Then I began the decent…. Pressing gently so as not to force the hot water come splashing out and scalding me. It took maybe 30 seconds. Then, the final step of my journey was upon me. I poured and tasted the best cup of coffee I’ve ever had in my life. It’s unbelievable. I can’t say enough good about the experience and this stainless steel French press. I’m telling you tho, at this price which is pennies really, and with the construction of this press, it’s the best thing since chocolate was found. I think of all of the money I’ve wasted on coffer making contraptions over the years and it makes me dizzy. A person spends more on coffee at a drive through in a day than this press costs. And, this coffees flavor and aroma is unmatched by any of them on their best day. You have nothing to lose and the best cup of coffee you’ve had in your life to gain!

    (Note: this was a gift, I am not a coffee person but the recipient did review and I am posting) When I began to wash it before using it, I was highly concerned about water getting trapped in the lid, as it doesn’t come apart. After full disassembly, I found that the lid is completely sealed. See photo of tiny top hole. The filtration system is made with total precision. The bottom plate is formed and the upper spring plate is also formed to fit the double walled carafe exactly. The steel screen is folded and formed, to ensure no rascally coffee grounds escape into the finished coffee. The weight of this french press tells clearly this is steel. I’ve only had it a couple days so far, so I can’t review the quality of the steel. I will update if the quality shows any low grade pitting or rusting. I won’t be putting this in a diswasher, only for the fact that any insulated/folded steel should always be handwashed no matter what.

    I bought two – the 17oz for tea and the 34oz for coffee. I just used the smaller one for loose tea. It was a luxurious experience. The product is well made, beautifully designed and keeps a perfect drinking temperature – not too hot, not too cold. I steeped at about 185-190 degrees. I made a white peony tea and installed two metal screens. The tea came out perfectly with fine delicate taste and no tea residue in the cup, although this tea is more leafy than powdery. I was tired of tea balls and the mess they make. I am very happy with the quality of this product and I’m a tough critic. Well packaged to avoid shipping damage. Easy to set up.

    Cudos to the designer and manufacturer for a producing quality products. It’s so rare these days as companies race to increase margin by producing low-priced crap and adding to landfills. This should last a good long time. Would like to be able to purchase replacement screens separately.

    Love the nice heavy weight, stainless steel thermal carafe, extra 2 filters, perfect size for 2-3 cups for myself or when a guest arrives and depending on coffee strength. I’m excited to use it tomorrow morning. This is replacing my broken large Bodum I’ve had for 20 plus years. I can buy a nice new smaller French Press and a 3 lb bag of coffee beans for what Id pay just to replace the glass, again. I’m no stranger to French presses, pourover or Moka Pot so using this will be a breeze. I don’t think I need to break it down to most protective buyers as it’s a simplistic device that makes a full bodied rich coffee. Adjusting temp, grinds and type of beans is something you’ll need to experiment with to find makes your tastebuds happy. Pics after first, show it was a used one from coffeemakers.us.com that someone returned and didn’t wash. People, when returning an item – CLEAN IT. Don’t be one if “those” people. It smelled like cheap coffee and something else not nice. After completely dismantling and washing it soapy water, I dried it with a microfiber towel. I’m now letting hot, hot water sit in it to disinfect it. As I’ve been doing this review, the water has stayed hot. That’s good. Glass french press’s so not retain heat. I highly recommend decanting when brew time is over or your coffee will taste very bitter. Also maybe use a lighter roast, more caffeine btw. I’m happy to say that this Secura French Press actually was in pristine condition, just needed a bath and a little rub stifen with a microfiber towel. Was a total deal to buy a return from coffeemakers.us.com and give it a second chance. I bought my Moka pot that way also. So after adding grinds, it works like my Bodum, no difference except it’s not transparent. Pour’s consistently, make sure plumber is plunged all the way down or the lid will come off. Very satisfied. Coffee tasted delicious. Would buy another Used Acceptable product again. A little work saved me about $9.

    Coffee stays hot! We replaced out drip coffee with a French press to avoid mold and plastics. The glass French press broke while washing it. So coming across a stainless steel insulated french press was a treat! The coffee tastes delicious, it’s ready to use, and the size makes it possible to serve multiple people at once. The only downside is the mesh is sometimes difficult to clean.
