Our older, Bonjour French press has been in use for over 5 years and no problems, so we now use that carafe in this wood-handled frame. I will have to look for a better quality replacement carafe.

   I love this little French press. I love that it’s glass and very light and compact. I use it to brew chai every morning. It’s so amazing! I love freshly brew chai and this little French press makes it really easy. I just add my looseleaf chai And hot water and let it steep and then hot milk. It bruised the perfect cup.    I really loved this product until the handle broke off yesterday, exactly 5 months after it was delivered. I don’t drink coffee every day so it hasn’t been 5 months of daily use. I have not put it in the dishwasher and I am the only one who uses it. It is now pretty useless because holding hot glass is not my jam. I’m disappointed because I loved it so much. Even got my sister into it.

   I wanted a French press for one or two servings. This is a perfect size. It looks so cute displayed on a tray with coffee accessories or as part of decor on a stand in my kitchen . It makes wonderful cold brew and no coffee grinds ever escape into my cup. From hot to cold it is very durable and super easy to clean. My one con would be that I wish the lid was 1/4” deeper in order to fully cover the pour spout. I have to cover spout with plastic wrap when keeping in fridge for my cold brews as it sits for several hours. I still give it five stars and anticipate being able to use this a long time. Comes with replacement filters too! Update 1/25/22: I just used this to make cold foam!! As if I couldn’t love this enough. 6-7 quick pumps and you have perfectly formed microform.

   I was hesitant about this press when I saw reviews about it cracking. I made sure to “preheat” it as per the directions. Which makes sense. Common sense will tell you to not pour boiling hot water in a glass carafe. I only heat my water to 185-190• anyway. It made a perfect cup of coffee. It was easy to operate and easy to clean. The value for the money is great and it looks cute as hell on my countertop ❤️👍🏻

Don’t buy this unless you’re ok replacing it over and over again. ****UPDATED**** Changed rating from 1 star to 4, simply for the pro active customer service. When Seller saw my review, they reached out and offered to replace this little cutie free of charge after several months of use. Giving it another go! Thank you, Seller**** I loved this thing; used it every day, several times a day until the wooden handle broke. It didn’t break when pouring, and I’m very thankful for that. I gorilla glued it, but am looking for another lead free press that won’t break. I never put this in the dishwasher; hand washed only.

    After unboxing the French press, right away i was able to tell it wasn’t stable while it stands. It wobbles on three feet instead of four. It leans to the side a bit because it’s not stable. So i contacted customer service and right away i was able to return the item. They sent me a new one but it had the same exact defect. It wobbles just as the last one. So i guess they’re all made this way. Not happy with this item. Would not recommend it because if you’re pouring hot water into it, it may spill.

    I love that this press doesn’t have any plastic, however the mesh screen is a big issue. One, it arrived bent up and there was no fixing it. The other issue is the screen is super flimsy and doesn’t fit well, so the coffee grinds easily float up as you are plunging the screen down. Until this gets resolved, I wouldn’t waste time or money on this.

    While I love the look of this press and the fact that it’s plastic free (which is why I bought it in the first place), within the first two uses, the bamboo lid began to crack and expand. I mean, obviously wood does that especially with high heat and humidity, however I figured it was tested and approved for this sort of use. When I would plunge and place the lid, then pour the coffee, the humidity would cause the lid to expand and create a tight seal in the glass carafe. I would have to pry the lid off to release it, which within two weeks of use, shattered the glass carafe sadly.

    Update: I didn’t realize it at first but the beaker had a hairline crack that expanded. Luckily I noticed in time and I was able to get a replacement from coffeemakers.us.com. I do wish that the glass was a bit thicker for this product. I still wanted a different handle material, so I wound up ordering a “Bodum Chambord Coffee Maker 3 Cup 0.35 Liter 12 Ounce Shiny” french press used from coffeemakers.us.com Warehouse for $15 in “like new condition.” It was a bit of a tight fit but the glass beaker did fit into the Bodum stainless steel stand. I am currently using this brand’s glass beaker and bamboo lid with the Bodum stainless steel holder that has a plastic handle. I really do like this french press overall and I would give it 5 stars if the handle was a more durable material such as stainless steel, plastic, or silicone. Original Review: I ordered this 12 oz French press and Ascot glass electric kettle based on Tamara Rubin’s advice for nontoxic and lead free kitchen items. It is beautiful but I wish the handle was either stainless steel or even plastic so that it could go through the dishwasher and there would be less worry of deterioration. I have hand washed it a few times and you can the see the bamboo is already drying out a bit on the handle. I am not having this problem with the bamboo top. I know that I could oil it but ideally I would like something that I could just rinse and pop into the dishwasher. I went so far as to order the same brand’s 12 oz version with a black plastic handle and lid to use for parts. I was hoping to swap out just the handle portion so that I would have the black handle with the original glass beaker without writing with the bamboo lid (I do not want the plastic lid touching the hot coffee). However, the glass beaker for the 12 oz glass/plastic combo is narrower. The bamboo lid is unable to press down as shown in the picture. It’s definitely a bummer. I am still trying to figure out what I want to do. I could possibly remove the beaker from the bamboo handle before washing it but I like to wash it right away and it’s very hot. I am debating if I should just switch over to another brand that is all glass and stainless steel. I saw a 34 oz one at IKEA that was reasonably priced.

    UPDATE I updated the star review as the seller offered a full refund as the press I received did not function as they expect it to. I am very happy that the seller stands by their product. The press is very pretty but unfortunately, the inside metal part does not hold up very well. It now will splash coffee grounds everywhere when pressed down.

    I bought this about 6 months ago. I loved how it was just the right size for one cup, and it was my daily go-to…until this morning when I noticed a large amount of water dripping out the bottom. The glass had chipped there was a visible hole, nearly 1/16″. I tried taping it with duct tape and A/C tape…Nope. I ordered a different brand with a metal bottom. Never should have trusted a glass bottom container.
