   This Moccamaster coffee grinder works wonderfully! The grind options range from course to extra fine, espresso. You have to hold the button down until you grind the desired amount which is the only thing I don’t like about this machine; I’d rather turn the switch and then shut it off or have it shut off automatically when the carafe is full. The motor seems really powerful and will most likely last a very long time. The cost is a bit much but I’ve owned several less expensive coffee grinders that didn’t last a year so my hope is that this machine will be the last one I have to get for a very long time. The coffee smelled amazing while grinding; I received a free 12 oz. bag of Sight Glass, organic coffee, the coupon for which was included with the machine so that was a nice blessing. This is a Great Product that’s well made!

   This is an excellent grinder for coffee from coarse to fine (but not espresso). Totally manual, which is how i like it, with a power switch that must be held in the ON position to grind. I don’t find this to be at all inconvenient. The grind is smooth and consistent, grind adjustment is smooth and easy, and the glass dispenser cup with silicone covers that seal against the grinder’s output spout keep grinds from flying about, for a neater kitchen. There is some static in the grounds, a bit more than I would have expected, but I find that waiting 5 minutes after grinding before opening the jar allows a lot of the charge to dissipate. Very highly recommended.

   This coffee grinder is just perfect. I have it set to just under 6 grind. I use this for my Moccamaster brewer, and it grinds it for a tasty pot of brewed coffee every time. It’s a little loud while grinding, but not too loud. I don’t mind holding the grind button while it grinds (15 seconds or so), but some people say they don’t like that. The beans I use are not very oily, and it works great – so not sure how it performs with oily beans. I order coffee from a local coffee roaster, so the beans I use are very fresh. There is a bit of static in the glass grounds container, but that doesn’t bother me either – I just wash the glass grounds container every time I use it. It’s always clean and ready to go each morning! I highly recommend this grinder.

   I bought the KM5 in June, 2023 shortly after it came out. Backordered, I had to wait but it was well worth it. This KM5 perfectly matches my Moccamaster KBG coffee maker. I weigh the beans in the glass cup then dump them the whole beans into the hopper the night before. In the morning I only need to press and hold the button to grind them in the morning. Whole beans won’t degrade overnight but ground coffee will. Some have complained about the noise. It’s a coffee grinder, it makes noise. I don’t know what to say except that it does not bother me in the slightest. I have had cheap grinders over the years and they made more noise, as I recall. Close the door to the kitchen or throw a towel over the grinder if you don’t want to disturb others who may be sleeping. Some have complained that you must hold the button during the entire 90 second grinding process. Well, I think that is a very good safety feature. When you look into the clear plastic hopper and see the whirring blades pulverize coffee beans into a consistent powder I’m comforted knowing it will be difficult for someone to stick their fingers to clear something while operating it. The coffee comes out in a consistent grind. Beautiful, actually. There is a finely machined aluminium grind adjustment knob. Truthfully, I set it to 5 1/2 when I bought it and haven’t touched it since. For those who care, the night before I measure out 55 grams of whole beans and fill the water reservoir to the 8 cup line on the side of the reservoir. That’s 8 six ounce standard coffee cups, not the standard 8 ounce cups you use when measuring cooking ingredients. I highly recommend, along with the matching coffee maker.

   I am loving the look, feel and build of the new Technivorm KM5 Burr Grinder. Goes aesthetically well with my Moccamaster coffee maker. This product is heavy duty and I know I will not have any issues. Any part is replaceable and customer service is amazing, I called them to send me extra rubber feet for the bottom and they shipped same day free of charge. Highly Recommended!

   There should be two different lids. One for storage, the other with a hole to grind into. Came with two of the same lid. *missing parts. see picture The grinder jar feels like glass. Technivorm Moccamaster says its plastic. I’m just off to a bad experience with Technivorm Moccamaster on this purchase.

   Recibí el molino y al menos en apariencia física la calidad es mejor de la que esperaba, se nota firme y duradero. Solo el problema de que no llegaron las cuatro gomas que van en la parte inferior a forma de patitas, pues sólo llegaron tres y no se como pedir o reclamar esa faltante. Por lo pronto lo instalaré sin esas 4 gomas pero no esperaba algo así de un producto de tan prestigiada marca. No se si alguien lo sacó antes de la caja y se les quedó una patita y así me lo mandaron pero si falta esa patita. Espero usarlo pronto y que funcione bien.

    Out standing in my book, next to No Loose Grounds on the countertop, because of clever thoughtful design. Much less noise than some grinders I have owned. Worked perfectly out of the box, well packed. The flat burr grind has been the quality improvement I had always hoped for, with very uniform size and fewer fines than with conical burrs I have always used. Footprint size very compact, hefty. A very definitive correct step to get coffee to taste like you’ve wished. I do stuff a paper coffee filter in the glass grounds container. I’ve noticed paper is a real static killer, and results in the ability to pour my fresh grind immediately into a container I use for fresh grounds.

    The burr grinder does a great job with consistent grinds. But, I have now had 2 units fail after 3-4 weeks. The second lasted just over 1 month before the unit just stopped dead during grinding. Unfortunately, this is just a few days past the coffeemakers.us.com return policy end date so I am stuck with a $350 grinder that doesn’t function. I will reach out to Technivorn but I don’t think this device will work in the long run based on history so far. Do not recommend.

    This grinder is well made but as mentioned in other reviews the rocker switch has to be held down by your finger or thumb to keep the grinder working. There is no auto on off switch. I must have hit the glass and shattered it while shaking the grinder to move the beans into the chute and I now assume I will never ever get that part. They promised to respond but never did. I am now using a 12oz child’s steel cup as a replacement. Works okay but have you checked the price of this grinder and this is what I have to now use. Unacceptable.
