I've been wanting to roast my own beans for awhile now. I tried an air popper and nearly burnt the house down. This roaster is so clean and so contained, and just smooth. Finished my first batch, cooked to my exact liking, letting the beans degas for 24 hours then trying my first cup tomorrow. Couldn't be happier Also, now after using (editing this comment later now) it's still wonderful, only issue is some beans cook little darker than others. I think that could be solved if I loaded the pan with more beans when I cook, but I honestly love the mix of dark and medium roast so it's perfect
From my experience after owning for more than 1 year, I’d like to refute the 1 star review given for water leaking and point out the (3) things to check if you’re having any issues with water leaking: 1. Is the rubber gasket in place on the water reservoir?? 2. The filter and the filter cartridge have 3 notches- the owners manual doesn’t mention it but the notches need to align before screwing the assembly to the bottom of the reservoir. 3. Is the water reservoir base clean and free of debris? I once had a piece of a coffee bean fall in there and guess what? Water leaked when the reservoir and base didn’t align properly. Granted I have no detailed understanding of what the 1 star OP actually encountered, but I don’t see a fatal design flaw in my unit and I constantly keep water in the reservoir. We've been using this occasionally, especially when we have guests. The coffee it makes is quite good; it comes out perfectly hot, and the milk also comes hot. I like that you can pick between 2 different coffee sizes for each of the 4 options. The crema it makes isn't a lot like with a Vertuo machine I own, but it still produces crema. Our guests say they enjoyed the coffee a lot, and we also like it. It is a handy espresso machine. After using the milk I like to add water and use it again to clean the milk area perfectly. Overall, I give this machine 4.4 stars.
This is an amazing product. The build quality is excellent with great attention to details. The big lcd display for an espresso machine? Why not? It gives so much information on temperature, pressure, grind timing, and so much more. The espresso making process is fast, from grinding the whole beans to heating up and bubbling the milk to pressuring the espresso, all in a minute. The machine is fun to use but a piece of art work in display. The creaming color is very nice too…giving a 60s retro look. It is a pleasure to use this product.
We are so happy we purchased this. It saves us so much money making our own cold brew at home now and it is delicious! Easy to do and love how it's a glass brewer. The handle makes it even better. We liked it so much we bought an extra glass from the same company so we can have some made while some is brewing so we never run out. Great product, made well, highly recommended. We also sent one to our son and daughter in law who love cold coffee like we do.
It has been almost two years since we purchased this product. We use this coffee maker everyday. We always pre-warm the thermal carafe while we are preparing our coffee. The coffee stays hot for at least two hours this way. I make the coffee around 4am and my husband drinks it (still hot) around 7am. The one thing we did was start using Braun Coffee filters, they are taller than the the others, so we can use a fine grind and not worry about it spilling over in the basket. I was also a little concerned about removing the water bin everyday, so I just fill it in place ( I do have to remove the bin every once in a while if water gets under it, so that I can dry it).
The Braun MultiServe Plus is a huge coffee maker with multiple functions. I love that you can choose different size cups, bowls, or use the carafe. The ability to brew cold brew or over ice is very awesome and unique. It is a beautiful machine aesthetically. It's very easy to fill using either the water container that is removable or the carafe and the water lines are clearly marked and accessible, it even comes with a water filter. Your brew time is incredibly fast and the flavor is amazing. We have always loved bold strong coffee. I love the tapered glass of the carafe and how nothing spills during pouring. Setup is very easy but you do have to read the directions. There are some little tips and tricks in there that you would not know otherwise. The digital display is large and clear and even tells you if you left the lid open. You don't need to push hard on the touch panel to choose your options. I feel like I should give this coffee maker 3 stars based on all the negative things I found, but it does do what it says it's supposed to do. So on that note, it deserves four stars. A few of the issues that I do have with this Braun coffee maker is the price for one. Unless this thing is going to do some amazing tricks I think I'm just paying for the brand name and not the functionality of the system, though it does have the cold brew option which might be harder to find on traditional coffee makers. There is no way to clean the carafe by hand. The hole at the neck is too small to get your hand in there. So you have to have special scrub brushes to be able to get down in there. It is a very large system that takes up a bit of counter space but everything on it is easily accessible. For such a large machine I'm very surprised that it only handles 10 cups and not more. There is no way on the version I purchased to adjust the temperature of the burner or the time that the burner stays active. It's also not one button start in manual mode. You have to push the on-pad and then choose what type of coffee you want. I also noticed when refilling the container that there was a lot of residual water that had not been used during brewing left in the container.
All the reviews were spot on. Easy to clean. Keeps coffee hot though my second cup which can sometimes be as long as 2-3 hrs. I haven’t tried the 12 hr test but I’m very happy with this brewer. Only slight disapppointment was color said “red” and it’s more a purple/eggplant color. I have red highlight decor in my kitchen and LR. Would have ordered black if I thought it was dark purple. Otherwise very happy with this product and bottom line it keeps my coffee hot and its a good cup of Joe.
I used to drink good ol’ drip coffee for years but as I got older my stomach eventually let me know that it’s had enough. My friend suggested I try cold brew and since then my stomach has never been happier and I’ve never looked back. Up until recently I’d either buy cold brew from the store or the local coffee shop, but that got expensive quick, so I decided to try making cold brew at home. I’ve tried a couple of cold brew makers and the Barista is now by far my favorite. It’s easy to use, makes a copious amount of strong cold brew concentrate, and the container it filters into can be directly stored in the fridge with the lid, lasting for a whole week while staying fresh. I also bought one for the friend I mentioned, and he’s become a big barista cold brew fan as well. Some advice: NEVER dump the used coffee ground in the sink, as they can cause a buildup in your pipes.
I actually like the way this operates. Whoever thought it up had a fine idea, but then they farmed out their designs to the cheapest possible Chinese factory and this is what we end up with. The plastic feels chintzy, and the one and only moving part (the drain lever) has terrible action. Furthermore, as you can see from my picture, it leaks! This means you cannot be drinking on one batch of cold brew out of the provided container while steeping another. A lesson I learned the hard way when this thing made a gigantic mess in my fridge. I've made sure to clean extra well around the single cheap rubber washer that holds the liquid in up top, and it makes no difference. Now I put a dish under the device, which adds extra hassle and mess. Also, what of all the leaked water? It's not steeping up top. Now my cold brew is weaker? Also, the liquid capacity of the top pitcher is greater than the capacity of the bottom. Guess how you find that out? When it overflows around the cracks during draining. If only there were some graduated measurements on the side of the top pitcher... I intend to continue using this until it fails completely, which shouldn't be too long. After all, I paid $40 for it! Would not buy again and would not recommend to anyone.
The class cup has a few small chips on the edge. I used a piece of fine sandpaper smoothed them out. Other than that, it worked fine.
A 4 cups little coffee machine, just right for office use by myself. Should be good to make tea as well.
I tested the Chemex logo with a 3M lead test swab and it tests highly positive for lead. I tested a Pyrex product which tested negative and included that picture as well for comparison. A red color response is a positive test result. Not only did the logo test positive as soon as I touched it with the swab, but when I rub my finger on it, even my finger tests positive. I have tested every glass baby bottle brand in my house and all were negative so I am very surprised that they are using lead paint on a kitchen product that could leach lead into dishwater or simply transfer from your hands to your child. This is honestly the first product that I have ever tested that has tested positive. I emailed the company and they were not concerned and simply offered me a return label. I will shop for a different brand. This is a consumer safety hazard and I sincerely hope that on this second try coffeemakers.us.com will allow me to post this honest review.
