Beautiful coffee pot. Brews a perfect cup. Only issue is the label keep popping up. It’s two days old.
I purchased this brand of Percolator because I own the Farberware 4 cup version and it is over 20 years old and still going. I got this one super reasonable from a warehouse deal. We like to make Ice Coffee in the summer months and I wanted to make one pot instead of multiple pots of coffee using my 4 cup. What a treat! To make 12 cups, which they say is about a 5 oz cup, I fill it to the 12 cup marking which can easily be read on the inside of the pot, fill the brew basket with 6 Rounded scoops of coffee using my 2 TBS coffee measure. The first time I used it I was a tad concerned that the brew basket sat up so high above the top of the percolator, as there is a spring on the bottom of basket stem holding it up. However the lid snaps on and everything stays in place. Plug it in and it starts Percolating immediately. I have only ever made the full amount of 12 cups and it takes about 11 minutes to percolate. Because I make Ice Coffee I unplug it as soon as it finishes its cycle because leaving it plugged in keeps your coffee hot. I let it sit for about 15 minutes before removing the basket and let it cool right in the pot until its cool enough to go into my glass container for perfect Ice Coffees. Percolating 12 cups just about fills my 64 oz container. I hope this 12 cup lasts as long as its predecessor has.
I purchased this product and selected new. This was clearly used and there appeared to be some coffee grounds still in it. The glass shows it’s stained and sticky on the side. Came this way right out of the box.
I was very surprised and pleased when I saw it. It's larger than I imagined but it's a perfect size I was afraid it was going to be tiny and fragile but it's very solid and well built. I especially like that I can keep 3 cups stored in the plunger ready to use. It's clean and easy to use, no mess. I recommend this product. Update: after two weeks of use it started to leak. The attached photos show where the leak is at by The Grommet at the base of the unit. Someone mentioned difficulty pressing the plunger down because of their weakness. If you wet the base of the plunger it'll slide really easy when pressing the on the plunger.
I have owned this product for about 8 months and the screen in the filter is separating and coming apart. The glass on the carafe is very thin, so you have to be very careful with it (I broke mine).
Ok coffee maker. Every time the carafe is removed from the brewer, coffee drips onto the heating plate. After about 3 months, the stain can't be removed and it begins to stain the bottom of glass carafe. I've tried soapy water, CLR, and vinegar but nothing works for removing stains. Coffee is ok from maker, but it's starting to look ragged.
In short: you wont be disappointed! As soon as I got this I had to try it out and compare it side by side with the nespresso machine. I did a quick wash of the minipresso and poured some hot water from The nespresso mashine as it's quicker then boiling water. It took 20 seconds to fill the water, screw it on and add the Nespresso Capsule. The race starts. Pressed the button on the nespresso and at the same time started pumping the Minipresso. It took about 10-11 pumps to fill a shot of espresso and finished a few seconds before the Nespresso machine. Results: the Mjnimpresso held up to its name. It didn't make as much crèmà as I was hoping it would with useing two hands to pump, however I am still satisified. Pros: -Extremely small (size of a 12 oz water bottle -easy to use, set up. -Cleaning was not bad.inwouod dona nice deep cleaning after 10 uses and clean out some left over coffee stuck in the nook and crannies. Cons: -When taking the pods out donit over a sink or trash as it will leak some coffee and wil get over you. -AIRPORT: I have pre check, and out of the 15 times I flew, they pulled me to the side 9 times to check it out and to open it all up. Not a big deal. I just take it out now and put it separately and I do mention it to the TSA so they are aware of it, now I never get stoped. But when I do mention it they do think it's a pretty cool device. So if you get stopped. Don't give them a hard time! You can eaither ruien your day and get upset or walk away laughing and the next time you see them, they will Most likely remember you and ask how your coffee is. I have used this: On road trips Out Camping On Airplanes On vacations Sitting at the beach early morning/ late evenings At work
When thermal Coffee maker came, I un-boxed it, a tiny piece of plastic was loose inside pkg. I now know it's from inside lid to thermal carafe. It does not affect my coffee dispense. Neg: no # display for warming plate, it works though.⬅️➡️ arrows to adjust.
Easy to use, makes a good couple cups of espresso
This is perfect for when I am traveling. I think it could be slightly smaller and lighter, but I won't complain about that too much. My one reservation is whether I am going to be able to keep the nozzle clean enough, as it does not seem to be possible to disassemble it for cleaning. So far it seems to rinse out clean relatively easily, though. I was slightly skeptical, but I have made half a dozen espressos so far, and it is every bit as good as those I get from my Nespresso machine. Here are a couple of tips: If you have trouble with grip, such as if you have arthritis, you will probably find it too hard to squeeze the pump. It takes about 20 or 30 pumps to get a full shot, and you need to do this twice, because you need to do it once with plain hot water to warm everything up. Speaking of warming up, if you do not run boiling water through the machine once before making a shot, your espresso will be cold. I recommend heating up your cup as well. If you have used a Nespresso machine, the pumping speed will be intuitive. Just pump fast enough to match the flow, and you will get the right brew time and a great shot. Seattle coffee gear has a YouTube review if you want to see it in action before using it. All in all, this is easily my new favorite travel coffee maker, and I will no longer be carrying a grinder, beans, and an Aeropress machine when I travel. Hooray! I am attaching a photo just after making a shot, including a kitchen knife for scale.
Going old School, after Many Years of Keurig, AutoMatic Drip, Pour Overs, and Single Brew Mr Coffee (Mr C which I will still use, for my quickie cup) I bought Disc Filters, but forgot put it inside. Grounds will just fall out when emptied with a filter. Packaged well for shipping, Shiny New! First Brew, 5 mugs of water brought water ball up to the 12 cup mark, it Brew in 10 minutes. Started heating water immediately when plugged in. A little steam, but not overwhelming. Dark, Rich and Hot Coffee. (I realized, my coffee is going into a cold mug now as opposed to heating my glass mug as I Brew, but so far, it's pretty darn Good!!! ☕ I'm rather picky, and I like back up and options. Husband and we like so far, I'll update later on if that changes. Enjoy your Coffee ☕ Everyone!!
Works great for camping and traveling!
I gifted my son my Keurig because he was more of a coffee snob than I am LOL. So I bought this for me and it works great! Just what I needed. Simple coffee and tea! This is a simple coffee pot, no frills just coffee so if that is all you need you will not be disappointed.
How freaking ridiculous, this did not even BREW ANYTHING! Only plain hot water. I tried three times. It's like water straw doesn't fit pot and literally nothing brewed. This is garbage. Pure udderly garbage.
