   I bought this as I’m a new nursing student and have never been a coffee drinker. Well, that’s all changing with the amount of schoolwork and trouble staying alert in the afternoon in class. I bought this little guy for $20 and figured I’d give it a go. It’s small and cute. Fits on my nightstand if I’d like to make coffee as soon as I rise! It brewed well and hot! The cup thus far keeps it pretty warm! The cup is the perfect size. I may even take it to class for others to use for a pick me up. Would make a great gift as well. I got the mint green and it’s a good little coffee maker. Maybe add a little more grounds than what it calls for if you like it stronger!

   I absolutely love my new coffee maker with matching mug. The filter is so easy to clean too. I first let the grains cool down then tap the bottom and let the grains drop into paper bag for compost. Then I just rinse the filter with hot water. Comes out clean. Then I rinse the filter holder too in hot water. That’s it. So easy once you do the first two run through with vinegar water then just cold water. The other thing I love is the click it makes when you press the button. Makes things easier for me since I am completely blind. Makes a perfect mug of coffee. I would highly recommend this to my friends. Btw you need to let the maker completely cool down, takes about 5 minutes. If you try to make a second cup right away, the machine will not click on until completely cool down. Love that feature too.

   Trying to reduce my coffee consumption so I got this to make one large cup at a time instead my old maker that made two cups at a time. It’s a good maker and I’m not disappointed.
   Cons: it isn’t as efficient as my old (larger) maker using 3-4T of grounds when the old one made twice the coffee from 4T of grounds, with the lid on the cup while brewing it will overflow the lid because coffee brews faster than it flows through the lid (I brew into the cup without the lid on to fix this), and it does not keep the coffee in the cup warm for long (there’s no hot plate.)
   Pros: makes a great cup of coffee, reusable filter is easy to clean, cup is good, and maker is very small so it doesn’t use a lot of counter space.

   I have only been using this Mixpresso 1-cup coffee maker for three days. It makes a great cup of coffee. I don’t use the permanent filter that comes with the machine because I generally try to avoid plastics whenever possible (even though the entire machine is practically a plastic pod). Instead, I use #2 paper filters. And, I got rid of the plastic 14 oz mug that comes with the coffee maker. The machine feels fragile and cheap, but that was only my initial impression. My machine is sturdier than it looks or feels and it does not leak and it does make a fair amount of steam. The machine is easy to clean and it occupies very little space on my kitchen counter. Since I use a 10 oz coffee mug, I use 1 1/2 scoop of coffee grounds to make a bold tasting cup of coffee (I expect that an 8 oz cup might require only one full scoop of grounds). I have no regrets in purchasing this great little coffee maker.
