   I Purchased this coffee maker since 2023 I live in the area where the water is quite hard with calcium buildup normally my coffee makers don’t last a year. It’s been 2 years and this one still going strong, the filter system is great for this machine in two years it hasn’t been buildup with calcium at all and is perfect size for my coffee bar/Cantina bar it fist perfectly.

   There’s an advantage for having both K-Cup & Carafe in a combo spout for space saving, but here is the problem. If the K-cup has leak on the seal, the water then overflow outside the the kCup container, it doesn’t have proper drainage. It could spill to place that beyond the cup can contain. In the classic design if this happens, the leak still drain within the glass area. The K button seems unecessary if you used to have old Keurig, the brewing process starts after pressing cup size. The new model need to press extra K button to start. In total with this model you need to press 4 buttons to start brew: 1 power button 2 k-cup or Carafe option 3 cup size button 4 K button Sometimes you have to redo step 2-3 when you pressed these when water not hot ready. Overall if you have space probably this not a good option. But the water reservoir location(s) is perfect on this model.

   I had an older Keurig for many years so I decided to upgrade to this model. Love the stainless carafe option. It worked very well for 2 months until one day it would turn off when the brew button was pressed. Tried unplugging to let it reset but no luck. Contacted Keurig directly expecting a fiasco. On the contrary, they determined my machine was defective and sent a replacement immediately after providing my proof of purchase. Did NOT have to send broken machine back! Machine #2 was received a few days ago. I will update review after a sufficient amount of time has passed. I must say when operating correctly, this machine brews a great pot of coffee and the k cups come out nice too. Hope this machine stays working. UPDATE AS OF 12/29/24: The replacement machine has been functioning as it should. Very happy.

   We had a Keurig coffee maker that had served us well for many years, but it was time to replace it.  I was first attracted to another brand coffee maker that had beautiful stainless steel model with sleek, modern lines, plus the cost was much less than the Keurig, so I ordered it.  What a big mistake!  Although it was beautiful to look at, it was an inferior product in numerous ways; the biggest one being that it dispensed coffee grounds in the cup when making a carafe of coffee or the K-cup.  I returned it and tried another brand.  Things went from bad to worse; it leaked from day one, made terrible coffee and was noisy.  I returned the second coffee maker and finally ordered the Keurig that I should have purchased in the beginning.  The 3rd time was the charm!  We love our new Keurig K-Duo Plus Coffee Maker.  It makes superb coffee, carafe or K-cup, is very quiet, brews faster, and the coffee is very hot.  Our kitchen space is limited, so I am happy that this model Keurig takes up less space, too. It doesn’t get any better than this. . . make a carafe of coffee or a cup of coffee. The stainless steel carafe is a big plus, too, over a glass carafe; it keeps a pot of coffee hot for an extended period of time. Awesome! On the flip side, this coffee maker is more costly than the first two I tried, but you’ve heard the old saying:  “You get what you pay for” . . . it rings true with this superb coffee maker.  Do yourself a favor, and save yourself all the aggravation we put up with by trying to save a few dollars; buy this Keurig.  You’ll be glad you did!  8 WROTE THIS REVIEW MONTHS AGO BUT JUST NOTICED THAT IT DID NOT GET POSTED BECAUSE 8 DID NOT COMPLETE THE LAST STEP.    Bought two of these on accident but was blessing in disguise because a couple months later my bff asked if I could keep my eye out for a keurig on Marketplace. Problem solved! Gifted her the second one and now there are two happy households! Love this keurig model! I’ve owned 3 different models over the years. By far this one covers all the bases one could ask for in a coffee machine. Personally, I’m glad it doesn’t have a warmer plate underneath. I find that those tend to burn the coffee and makes the coffee yuck to drink. I love that the water reservoir can change positions from back to left to right, allowing it to fit almost anywhere in your kitchen. I also enjoy the option to make a pot of coffee vs a single serve. Make sure to change the water filter every 2 months to ensure you’re taking care of it. Also, don’t be alarmed by how huge the box is when it arrives. We were, thinking omg this thing will never fit in our kitchen. Then had the same feeling when we took the second one to my friend. Her kitchen is very small. The picture I’m attaching is from her house. It fits perfectly. The only reason the box is so large is because Keurig packages the machine so well. I can’t imagine one of these arriving damaged.

Size and option for water tank back or side, auto option sets up nice, of course pod and pot great feature but the stainless steel carafe and it’s 5 hour warm feature is FABULOUS! I’m not a fan of hot plates on coffeemakers. They get nasty looking and coffee gets that burnt taste! With this carafe coffee just stays hot! One thing that could be improved is there is no way to check if carafe empty before brewing so have to be sure to empty carafe. I watched a YouTube on set up and still overflowed it on one of our first few days using! Still rated a 5 star!

    We have owned a few Keurigs over the past 10-15 years and this one is the hands down best. I love the ability to make a full pot when my wife and I are both home over the weekends or making myself a cup at a time with a pod when she is traveling. Flavor and strength is great for both the pod and the full pot and eapecially love the carafe which keeps the full pot hot for a long time. The ability to move the reservoir is an added bonus so you can place it on the side (or rear) that makes most sense for your setup. Its a large enough reservoir so I am not having to refill it with water daily like our previous Keurig. Very easy to setup and very easy to use. Lots of flexibility with cup/pot size and strength. I haven’t found anything yet with the design or functionality I would change.

I would have given this 5 stars but when the package was opened it was wet, everything on the inside was wet, and not like a few drops it looked like someone dumped a cup of water in the box then closed it and put it in an coffeemakers.us.com box.     I love this coffee maker for it’s flexibility! If I want one cup–easy to use the K cup. If I have guests and need a full pot, then I just use ground coffee. I have to keep the instruction book nearby for when others use it. But after a few cups, the menu on the coffee maker becomes easier to understand. It is versatile in that you can position the water tank where it works best for your set-up. We are very happy with this coffee maker.

    This coffee maker is a great upgrade to my old keurig which was starting to have problems. I do like the option to choose between a carafe or a cup. The pour spout for the cup option is farther back than the one for the carafe so be careful not to center it on the base. I did that and it missed the cup and spilled. There is also no option to choose between 12 oz and 6 cups which is a little annoying but not a deal breaker. Just have to do extra steps. Overall easy to use and clean with minor hiccups which hopefully will be improved. Update after 5 months…. Keurig isn’t working and won’t brew anymore. I start brewing and as the water is heating up, it shuts off completely. Need to take it in for repairs. Not great

    My favorite things are: you don’t have to pull the coffee maker out to use and the water reservoir can be moved from side to side. I moved the water it to the left since the fridge is to the right of the machine. Previously, I always used my Keurig k cup machine. I got married and he brought his coffee pot bc he liked making a pot. So we had two coffee makers on the counter which I hated. Some dual coffee makers still took up the same amount as space as the two. When I came across the one, I thought it was worth the money. This duo plus takes up the same amount of space as his coffee maker did (black and decker insulated cup one) so we got all the space back of my Keirug, which was pretty big. However, I think his canister is better insulated that this keirug duo plus one. I did see the price change three times in one day. I was debating making the purchase…when I looked again, the price dropped $10 so I went ahead and bought it. An hour or so later, I went to look up something else and it shows “something you may be interested in” and it was another $10 cheaper. I cancelled the order then rebought it at the lower price. Today I see it when I go to post the review, and it’s $21 higher than I paid last week. One annoying thing (other than the price fluctuations) is that it brews so quietly that you can’t really tell when it’s done.

    After getting tired of dealing with a dribbling carafe lid on our last two Mr. Coffee makers and our bulk coffee starting to get thin in flavor, we opted for this much more expensive Dual Keurig maker and a new brand of coffee. Our coffee intake had decreased from 6-8 cups per day to one for my wife and three for me. The plan for the new Keurig was for her to use K-cups and I’d brew enough in the carafe for my wants. Other than having to trial & error various K-cups coffees to find a flavor we liked – difficult at best because most were pretty strong/bitter compared to our ‘usual’ – the Keurig worked as advertised, making a tasty cup for her and me – once I got used to the bolder, but very smooth Peet’s brand. I’m still working on that. Why Keurig? There are other brands at AMZ that have the same dual function and are highly rated, but a few friends & relatives have Keurigs and offer few negatives about them. Unfortunately, I do. If you’re a neatnik and don’t like having a messy coffee maker greeting you in the morning, this Keurig unit requires extra effort to clean. It’s not just a case of rinsing the K-cup holder and filter basket. To do the job reasonably well, the thing must be disassembled (see photo), all of the component’s nooks & crannies gotten into with a soapy brush, rinsed, towel-dried (I don’t like water spots, so don’t air dry) and reassembled. That’s about a 5-minutes job for me. Since my breakfast only consists of toast & coffee, it’s annoying to spend more time cleaning up than eating. Since it’s just me and my wife, we rarely dirty enough dishes to use the dish washer more than once or twice/week, so handwashing is our only option. Although a different review should probably be posted, I included the two “load-your-own” K-cup holders in the photo to add the comment it’s important to NOT overfill them with grounds. I also use a K-cup, paper filter with them. Too many grounds will result in a loose seal on the lid, allowing the grounds to overflow into the hard-to-reach areas where the K-cup basket and trough sit that lets coffee flow from the K-cup to the hole in the filter basket holder and into your cup. I noticed that today and spent an extra 10 minutes cleaning out the mess. I infrequently join my wife in a flavored K-cup (Chai Latte) and have found the machine will spit and sputter out around the bottom of the filter basket holder, adding to clean-up chores of the resulting splatter. We remove the filter basket before using K-cups – one more thing to clean up – and keep the stainless-steel carafe away from the unit or it will catch splatter too. What do I like about this unit? As mentioned, it makes a tasty cup of coffee, once you find a brand you like. We’re probably over-filtered – whole house filter, water softener, fridge filter (for coffee water) and a filter in the unit’s water-source-reservoir. It’s fast – press the power button and the water begins to heat, easily making a K-cup in less than a minute. The K-cups, although 3 times more expensive than bulk coffee, are very convenient for only one or two cups. Being able to change position of the water reservoir allows an easy way to figure out the orientation of the unit on the counter. The stainless-steel carafe keeps coffee hot enough for me. I’ll take about 45 minutes to drink three cups while tending to email, reviewing the calendar, and having toast. The third cup is not quite as hot as the first one but is still too hot to drink fast. I bought this as a late Christmas gift to myself. My last two Mr. Coffee drip machines cost about $65 each, but the poorly designed, dribbling carafe lids were a nuisance and I’d hoped this Keurig would eliminate that problem. I think I’ve moved from the frying pan into the fire re cleanup. I wonder if other styles of Keurig makers require so much cleanup between use?

    One year update: well, this Keurig is about done. I have hard water, but I have cleaned the machine every couple of months; regardless, either the water or some mechanical failure has ruined this machine. It no longer makes good coffee. It frequently will make 1 cup of coffee even when the selection is 6 or 8. And the coffee is barely warm, never hot. I considered contacting Keurig but they will probably offer me a discount on another overpriced Keurig, so I am going to punt this unit into the trash and get something more reliable. It was good while it lasted. Original review A few years ago I bought one of the K-cup machines but since I brew 6 cups as often as one, it meant having two coffee makers on hand. Then I came across this machine. It is very well engineered and designed. It has a really good water tank and detaches for filling so no more awkward pouring water into a narrow opening. The water tank can be moved to either side or the back; brilliant! Really helps you fit the machine into your kitchen space. It brews a pot from 6 cups to 12 cups and it tastes great. No boiling plate, the pot is insulated and keeps the coffee hot for plenty of time without altering the flavor. It makes a K-cup that can be adjusted for 6-12 oz. The filter basket and tray are easy to remove and clean. It has an option to brew the coffee a little stronger and an automatic timer. This is really all the way around the best solution for coffee. If there are any shortcomings, I will update this review but so far I don’t see any. Again, so impressed with the design of this machine, I would love to shake the hands of the design team.

    I’ve had the Special Edition B60 for 13 years and have had to beat it to death to get it to work. My entire family drinks like 5-8 cups of coffee a day EACH and is entirely coffee-centric (for better or worse), so the daily beatings (2-4 single cups a day EACH) we’re getting annoying. We had a regular coffee pot, too, which brewed a steady 10 cups daily in addition to our Keurig addiction, and they both took up WAY too much counter space. I bought the duo to replace BOTH our coffee pots and to alleviate us having to smack the water reservoir to kick into action, and presented it to my (live-in) father-in-law for Christmas (video). He’s nearly 82 and is a man of few words. His absolute RAPTURE on watching that cup brew is priceless. He brewed three cups tonight and said it was the best cup ever. He shared with his ex-wife in after dinner bliss. I’m sure the absence of 13 years of built up calcium from the old machine not being present made a profound difference. WHAT A GREAT PRESENT for a man who has become so jaded that coffee is his only pleasure. Thanks, Keurig. Not sure how long this will last or if it will outlast “Grandpa,” but I’m supremely happy with the result. A great buy.

    For nearly 20 years I used a single-serve Senseo coffeemaker (with my own ground coffee, not pods), and I absolutely loved it. But making multiple cups when I had company was a problem, so I finally decided to replace my happy little ol’ Senseo. After much research, I chose the Keurig K-Cup Plus, and I couldn’t be happier. (Of course, now that I have a carafe, I can’t have company because of covid. 😛 When restrictions are lifted, I’ll be ready! You’re all invited! Bring scones!) 😀 It fits perfectly in my small apartment kitchen. My cupboard above is rather low, and yet I can open the k-cup lid and insert/remove the k-cup without moving the coffeemaker. I love that I can also remove the water reservoir to fill it without moving the entire machine. Unlike another reviewer, I had no splashing outside my coffee mug. The instructions say you should use a 12-oz or larger mug. A smaller mug or coffee cup will probably allow for messy splashing. Coffee in the carafe stayed hot for about an hour. By two hours, it was quite warm, but not hot. I love that the reservoir has a filter. The filter is easy to insert and remove. Until I get fresh coffee beans to use with a reusable k-cup filter, I’m using Dunkin Donuts Dark Roast k-cups. The flavor was GREAT. I had one cup without using the “strong” button, which was a fine cup of coffee. Then I brewed a “strong” cup, and I kind of fell in love… so far as one can fall in love with a beverage. Parts are easy to clean. My medium-large hands fit inside the carafe and the reservoir.

    Follow up to my original review. After 10 months this machine has exceeded my expectations. This may be the best coffee maker I have ever owned. I bought this machine July 12 for $140. I owned a 10 cup Mr Coffee machine that had similar functions and features (except the K-cup capability) that I was very happy with. It was about 10 years old when it started leaking water from the reservoir which prompted me to replace it. The only issue I had with the old machine was capacity. On those occasions when my wife and I wanted an additional cup of coffee it was inconvenient to brew another half-pot or full pot that often didn’t get fully used. This Keurig Duo seemed to be the perfect replacement. It features a 12 cup pot and has the K-cup feature for additional cups if needed. After reading several reviews on coffeemakers.us.com I identified 3 items that were a concern to me. 1. The permanent filter lets fines into the carafe. 2. The carafe doesn’t keep the coffee hot enough, long enough. 3. Longevity, a few reviews noted breakdowns after a few months. I have only owned this machine for about 2 weeks so I don’t have enough history to speak to the longevity issue. However, I can say that my first two concerns have been non-issues for me. The permanent filter DOES let fine coffee grounds through into the carafe. This problem is easily solved by using paper Bunn Coffee Filters BCF100 in place of the permanent filter. This works so well that in my opinion it renders the permanent filter a detractor rather than a benefit. The filter basket holder is easily removed and you can dump the filter and grounds out cleanly. Conversely the permanent filter has to be removed, cleaned and put back. In my estimation this is far more inconvenient. As far as temperature is concerned I find the Keurig carafe is probably less insulated than my old machine in that it seems to cool off faster. This is also not an issue for me. My perfect drinking temperature is somewhere around 145 degrees. The temperature of the coffee from the Keurig is 170 degrees right after brewing and is 168 at 30 minutes and 161 after 1 hour. The coffee pot is usually empty before the two hour mark in our home. So far the temperature has not been an issue for us. Other miscellaneous notes are: brew time for a full carafe is 9 minutes and 30 seconds; very reasonable. The auto delay brew function works well but is a little counterintuitive. I have to turn the machine on, push the auto button, and press the start button to “set” the delay function, then press the power button again OR it will brew a pot of coffee immediately. Counter space footprint is ideal for us. Registration of the product was slightly inconvenient because the Keurig registration system didn’t recognize the serial number at first. I tried again after a few days and it worked fine so not really a significant issue. Overall – after 2 weeks of ownership I am very satisfied with this product and would recommend it highly. If it doesn’t last for at least 5 years at the current price point however, I would not buy it again. Time will tell.

    Love the flexibility of this Keurig, sometimes you just want a cup and other times a pot. Also love the larger reservoir! I also love the new slim design and clean look, it doesn’t take up a lot of counter space. Here’s the warning (& the reason I didn’t give it 5 stars): It’s easy to make a pot and forget to check/empty it before brewing the next one which causes an overflow… the 1st week of owning this we had 3 different people unintentionally overflow it and coffee went everywhere. The carafe is not see through so you have to get into the habit of checking it before you shove it in for a new brew. I’m in the process of making a magnet for pot full/empty to put on the carafe. Also to brew you need to push 4 separate buttons – the ‘on’ button, the ‘cup’ button, the ’12oz’ button, and the ‘brew’ button… boo. Having said all that, overall I am a fan of the unit and would recommend it!

    Mostly, it’s what you’d expect. I’ve used the same pod brand across multiple Keurig machines. This one is not my favorite for the cup brew. The insulated pot is great. Easy to wash. Doesn’t leak or drip around my cup like the Cuisinart brand insulated pots seem to do. I’m not sure I’m crazy about the deep tube lid. Well see how cleaning goes over time. My biggest complaint is the splatter when making pods. It splatters a lot. The images are today’s splatter. It’s best if I put a large can of chicken under the cup to hold it closer to the mess maker. I think they could do better.

    I rotated the reservoir from the right side to the rear. It’s a big unit, but smaller than two separate ones. I like the k-cup socket recessed midway back, with drinks flowing down. Anyone who’s experienced a k-cup rupture knows the cleanup, this design minimizes that chance. The thermal carafe is better than a hotplate. The brew heat is actually hot, another concern I had. The controls are on the top 1. press on button 2 strong option button (if desired) 3 select k-cup or carafe 4 if k-cup select size 5 press brew. K-cup are done in about 90 seconds. It’s easy to clean, reservoir is big. A peculiarity is if there’s only a cupful of water left in reservoir it won’t brew. I didn’t read any warning about that but once I filled it, no problem. The charcoal filter goes in the reservoir, and takes a 5-minute first-use soaking. I’ll revise this if any changes. It’s a big unit. Expect a bigger box from coffeemakers.us.com.     This machine takes up much less counter space than the earlier K-Duo, which I replaced after breaking two glass carafes, which are very expensive and slow to be delivered. It takes up less counter space and the water tank is easier to handle. It brews more quickly and the insulated stainless steel carafe keeps the coffee hot longer than the old one, which switched off automatically after a period of time. And hopefully, this carafe is unlikely to break.

    We actually really liked this coffee maker. It did what it needs to do. Make Keurig cups for the one cup of coffee my wife has every morning and make a whole lot of coffee for me to drink during the day. It’s easy to use, easy to clean. My gripe is the multi feed water tank. They claim that you can position the tank on either side or the back. Unfortunately if you put the tank on the side the feed lines from the reservoir to the machine get pinched and it fails to brew a full pot. It will always stop early and flash “add more water.” This happens every single time you try to brew a “strong” pot and maybe 50% of the time trying to brew a regular one. The unit is so much more compact with the reservoir on the side and would fit my countertop so much better. Alas, unless I want to add water by filling a cup and dumping it in the reservoir the only way it works is with the water on the back. I researched this problem hoping I could fix it but numerous YouTube videos and reddit posts come to the same conclusion. Very poor design on Keurig part.

    We have had many Keurig’s and have always had the Pot Coffee maker that we brought out for party’s. Not any more. We use the k cups during the week since the pot is never convenient with different schedules in the house. On the weekends we always make a pot now. The coffee stays hot for hours in the carafe. The taste is outstanding in both the k cup brews and the pot. Making coffee is simple. Select K Cup or Pot, select size and click the center start button. We learned the hard way that the pot coffee comes out the center and k cups towards the rear, so make sure to move your mug towards the back. We have a small kitchen, so we needed a narrow coffee maker with a large reservoir. We have the reservoir on the back but did try the other options. Very well built machine.

    This coffee maker is sooo awesome! We loved our kerurig single cup maker that we had for 5 years that we never had a problem with and kept using because the coffee tasted good, but we found we were having so much waste from the single K cups and the cost of the better quality coffee was getting so high lately in price. Also my husband wanted to have a carafe pot to make larger portions to fill his Yeti thermos he takes to work instead of using 4 K cups to fill it, But every carafe combo I found was big and really tall and you would have to pull it out to use it and we didn’t want to have to keep doing that. This model is awesome! The best of both world! The coffee taste really great! The water tank has a large handle to hold it when removing and comes off the side easily and has a charcoal filter in it to filter the water as it brews, the pot is a large 12 cup pot that is insulated and very durable. It doesn’t have a heater plate under it which we like because when there is one the coffee always taste burnt after a while sitting on the heat. This carafe Kees the coffee hot for a few hours and warm for a long time after. The program to brew is super easy to use. The single cup is super easy and it lifts on the top and still fits under our cabinets!! All the rest we would have to pull out from under the cabinets to get the K cup in. It is sleek and very attractive in our kitchen. My husband just loves it and I’m so happy how it looks in our kitchen. Only suggestion I have is run a full pot with just water through first before brewing any coffee, we didn’t and it had a strong plastics taste to it, we dumped that pot and immediately made another and it was fine after that. We also ordered a package of filters to change once a month, as it only comes with one. The refills are not expensive and it’s only one a month. We also bought reusable K cups with paper insert filters for single serve, it has lowered our amount of waste and lowered our budget on coffee supplies. Buying fresh ground coffee is so much less expensive while tasting so much better than most of the K cup singles and way more eco friendly. I highly recommend this coffee maker.

    This is not our first Keurig coffee maker but it does operate different than ones we’ve owned in the past. We unplug ours after use so every morning after we plug it in you must set the time and hit the Big K button, and select how you want to brew, select how many cups, and then hit the K button again. Make sure to empty coffee grinds before you use the K-Cup feature. We love that it’s small doesn’t take up much room on our RV countertop and we have the option of grind coffee in a metal carafe or K-Cups.

    I purchased both of these pots at the same time (Keurig here on coffeemakers.us.com and the FlexBrew from our local big-box store). Here is my analysis: Things these two share in common: * They make great coffee! * They both make a carafe or a single serving with a K-cup or with your own grounds in a k-cup adapter. * They both make a carafe with up to 12 cups, or 60 oz (you lose some fluid in the brew process, achieving more like 56 to 57 oz). * They are both programmable for an auto-brew. * They both have an option for strong/bold coffee and the option applies to both the carafe and the single-serving side. Keurig K-Duo Plus pros: * Attractive. * Small footprint good for smaller kitchens. * Has a reservoir to hold water for multiple cups. * Comes with a thermal carafe. * Comes with a gold filter and water filter. * Has easy-to-read push buttons for size options. * Carafe and single cup options come out of the same spout – less cleaning involved. * Fast brew process. * Little to no steam escaping the top, so it seems safe to place under cabinets. And because of the separate removable reservoir, it can be used just fine beneath cabinets without pulling it out to fill. Keurig K-Duo Plus cons: * Expensive. * Size options limited. For a carafe, you can choose 6, 8, 10, or 12 cups. For a single cup, you have the same choices (in ounces). There are no in-between sizes, and the maximum K-cup size you can make is 12 oz. * Coffee filter basket is a bit hard to pull out and push back in. * Gold filter does not have a handle. * To use a “My K-cup” adapter with your own grounds requires fully pulling out the coffee basket, reaching up inside, and popping out the piece that punctures the K-cup. So switching between K-cups and your own grounds for a single brew is super cumbersome. * Does not include a “My K-cup” adapter for your own grounds. That must be purchased separately. * Height is quite tall and it can be difficult to see the button controls if your cabinets are low or cast a shadow. Could be difficult to insert a K-cup for some. Hamilton Beach FlexBrew pros: * MUCH more affordable. * Less buttons to push as water output is based upon how much water you put in at the time of brewing. * Single serving side will do up to 14 ounces. * Single serving size is dependent upon how much water you put in, thus making the size more customizable – so you can do a small espresso cup, for example, with only 4 ounces. * Carafe sizes are also customizable up to 12 cups, based upon how much water your put in. * Slightly shorter than the Keurig. * Includes a mesh filter for the single-serving side, for using your own grounds. * Storage for the single-serving mesh filter is beneath the single-serving drip tray which is quite handy. * Coffee is really hot, so you can add liquid creamer and not feel like you have to microwave it. Hamilton FlexBrew cons: * Not as attractive as the Keurig. Bulkier. * Does NOT include a gold filter. That must be purchased separately. * Does not have a reservoir that stays filled and ready to go. It must be filled each time you brew. * Takes longer to brew than the Keurig. * Two separate spouts for carafe and for single serving. Therefore, two spouts that need cleaning/descaling. * No thermal carafe included (They have that as another model, but it only does 10 cups). * More difficult to fill the reservoirs since they are at the back of the machine. If placing this beneath cabinets, one would probably need to pull the machine out when using in order to reach and fill the reservoirs. Final decision: in the end, I went for the FlexBrew, as I decided I preferred the ability to make up to 14 ounces on the single-serving side, so it fully fills my cup. While the instructions say not to exceed 10 ounces for actual K-cups, I have been putting in 14 ounces, selecting the bold brew, and it seems to work just fine. I also like that it’s easy to switch between K-cups and using your own grounds on the single-serving side. Plus, there’s storage for the mesh filter right on the pot, so I don’t have to go searching for the accessory. The better price tag is a big factor too, of course. I did end up buying a gold filter and a separate thermal carafe for those days when needed, although we usually drink the full carafe pretty quickly. Even with the purchase of the thermal carafe and gold filter, the price tag on this is still significantly less than the Keurig. I didn’t need to place this beneath a cabinet, so that issue wasn’t significant for me. If you need yours beneath a cabinet, I would probably recommend the Keurig.

    Have had a Keurig Vue for 10+ years, and it started to leak (from underneath). Decided it might be time to get a new coffee maker (3-4 cups a day … average … for 10+ years). Did my homework, and decided on this one. Ordered it, but as setting up, realized we needed a reusable filter as we use our own coffee (pods way too expensive … nothing mentioned on coffeemakers.us.com page). Ready to use new maker (there were a couple of surprises when setting up … like you need to take out the pod holder and the “outside” holder on the My K cup reusable filter to get it to fit). Ok, figured that out (thank you Google). Made our first cup, and was surprised to see the coffee came out of not only the right place, but also from the back of the filter basket. Lost about 1/8 of the cup that first time. Shortened timeline, couldn’t get it to stop leaking (many cups later, moving coffee cup trying to position to catch the leaks), from all different areas of the filter basket. Called Keurig. They walked me through steps (that I had already done … not going to kill the messenger, but Keurig, your support needs to think a bit, not just read from a list of questions), and had told them what I had already done. Again, long story short, they told me they would send me a new coffee maker (thought getting from the mfg. I might be luckier) just had to send them some documentation. Sent them all the screen shots (via email) and reply told me they could not approve. S/N was blurred (it’s on the bottom of the maker which means you have to set it on it’s back). Guess the people approving aren’t technologically adept enough to enlarge a photo (I did prior to sending and was able to read the S/N with no issues). Also, the screen shot I sent of my order confirmation from coffeemakers.us.com wasn’t acceptable. Guess it didn’t matter it had the order number, date ordered, and picture of what was ordered. Also, guess the fact that I had already registered the maker, and had given the serial number to the person I was talking to (three times) didn’t count. Anyway, sent another photo of the S/N and another screen shot of my coffeemakers.us.com confirmation, noting this was what coffeemakers.us.com offered. Received an email (next day … we’re now a week into this) expressing their concern over the issue, and if I would reply with my address, Keurig would send me a new one (I had already included a picture of my mailing address, the ref #, and date as required in the original email). Told them to cancel the request, I was going to get my money back and find another coffee maker. Requested a RMA from coffeemakers.us.com, dropped it off and received my refund within two hours. Keurig needs to take some lessons from coffeemakers.us.com. Still don’t know if it was the coffee machine itself or the reusable filter that caused the problem, and guess Keurig doesn’t really care to figure it out.
