   The coffee brews really hot , a little loud , it does not fit a travel mug . I love the appearance, the lever to close and open coffee pod is a little rough . I’m afraid I’m going to break it . Maybe with time it will loosen up a bit. I also love the buttons on front . There’s the pros and cons !    *** Update *** After owning the unit for about 6 months I needed to descale it. In the middle of a descaling on a rainy day, the unit stopped working. It’s dead Jim. Taking it apart I discovered what I can only imagine was their idea of a safety device. A tampon balanced on a switch. When it expands due to moisture/wetness it pushes the switch inside and disconnects the power. However, it will never contract! So you will either need to take it in for repair, or you toss it. (or you fix it like I did if you’re handy) A rather sad and cheap bit of built in obsolescence in the name of safety. Oh and you cannot find replacement parts for it online. I tried to lookup the device to see what it was and could not no parts for the inside for do it yourself repairs. 🙁 I still like the unit otherwise, but their choice of cheap safety kill device is pretty insane. Our previous Cuisinart unit blew up after about 2 years. But we liked the added features so we went with another one. I often push 16 Oz out of my little SF Coffee pods using 12 oz and 4 oz settings. Which this makes nice and easy. Positives: It holds plenty of water. More so than a friends 2.0 Actual Keurig unit. It has a clock but the clock feature can be turned off. (not another forced power failure reminder) It pumps a little slower than our old one, but that seems to help it get more flavor out of the coffee. It comes with a reusable pod. The pod holds a lot more coffee than generic ones but.. Negatives: Their reusable coffee filter is more of a pain to take in and out compared to the generic ones. Because the water tank is so thin it can be easy to spill water if you pore it in over having to remove it and refill it. ** A reminder to either not use or replace the little tank filters frequently and clean it every so often with vinegar . Depending on your water they can start to grow bacteria.

   I love, Love, LOVE this coffee maker. I have, until now, been a Keurig user and have gone through my share of Keurigs, returned damaged Keurigs, and tried the latest and greatest Keurig. What a waste of time and money! The last Keurig I bought was $169. It was LOUD, slow, took the water way too long to heat up, and was a pain to use. RETURN! I went online to search out Keurig-style machines, based on reviews, and went with this Cuisinart machine. BEST. DECISION. EVER! It is compact, sleek, clean looking, runs efficiently, is ready immediately upon turning on the power, runs fast, quiet, and clean. When you flip up the head to insert a pod, the pod base stays in place, unlike the Keurig, which lowers and raises when you open it (I could not place a mug on the tray until AFTER I inserted a pod because of this ridiculous design by Keurig). With the Cuisinart, only the lid pops up and the base stays in place. The water reservoir allows you to fill it almost to the top, efficiently utilizing the entire compartment (unlike a Keurig). You can easily fit a tall ceramic mug with the drip try in place, but if you use a travel mug, like I often do, the drip tray easily moves off the base and is just as easy to put back in place. Brew time is quick. Coffee is hot. Coffee is delicious and clean tasting. Once the machine finishes brewing, it doesn’t have a lingering drip, like the Keurig does. Three final quick drips and you are good to go. The programming of this coffee maker is super easy, with all the right options and more brew sizes than I remember my Keurig having. I can’t say enough good things about this machine. I’ve had it for about a month now; I use it every day, at least 3-4 times and I am nothing but impressed with it’s performance!

   I bought this to replace a Keurig K-Supreme Plus that died in just under a year (I liked the usability of the K-Supreme, but the build quality/longevity was terrible.). This Cuisinart machine is great, with only one flaw and one inconvenience. First the positives (*s mark the points that were a problem on the K-Supreme plus): – feels very solid – easy to clean* – large water capacity – reusable filter plus paper filters available (paper filters are advertised for kcarafes) – reusable filter allows stronger coffee* (See video) – convenient auto off functionality – makes coffee cup sizes consistently* – makes a good cup of coffee consistently* -easy to change the coffee cup size, and you can set the default size in the menu. It’s not labeled as ‘default’ so that can be confusing. (Menu and cup selection shown in video.) The flaw: The design of water refills is awkward. The elderly, or folks with coordination issues, might have a problem refilling the water, especially if kept on a counter under top cabinets. The reservoir is awkward to handle and heavy, and requires some dexterity to align correctly. With the K-Supreme, refills were as simple as filling and placing a pitcher. This was the only strong pro for the K-Supreme Plus – it was a dream to refill. But with the Cuisinart, there is no handle on the water. There is also an alignment bump out that you must slide the reservoir down onto (See video). It’s totally doable for most folks, but it does require decent hand strength and some coordination. (I was using one hand in the video, it’s easier with two hands.) The inconveniences: – If you frequently use loose coffee, the aftermarket plastic or metal reusable kcups don’t work well. (The included reusable does though.) For paper filters, you will have to use the included reusable filter and purchase the kcarafe filters, which are not available in a covered model. This means that, even with a paper filter, the reusable filter’s pod will need a daily rinse to remove grounds pushed up to the cap of the reusable pod. (See video). Overall I’m very happy with this purchase. This machine is solid and resolves the annoying and ultimately fatal issues with the K-Supreme Plus. We are back to a functioning morning coffee routine!

   I love this Coffee Maker! I’ve had two now, one of the previous model for nearly 6 years and then this newer version. There were Pros and Cons to each model as another reviewer has mentioned when giving comparisons so I won’t address those here. I want to address the EEO error code that can occur that frankly, I didn’t even know about, but my husband frequently mentioned he’d experienced. I brushed him off. Keep in mind we’ve had this machine for 2 years now and I’d NEVER experienced the EEO error code when fixing my own cup of coffee, until one morning when I was fixing a cup of coffee for my husband. I pop in his coffee pod, hit the brew button, it starts to drip and then bam I get an EEO code. I thought well darn, maybe he’s right about this EEO code and I’m going to have to replace this machine after all, but I didn’t want to because I REALLY like this unit’s features. For one reason, we drink different brands of coffee which is what makes single serve coffee makers so convenient. For another, I love the added convenience of this particular single serve for the fact that I don’t have to wait for the water to heat up like I do with other brands. You just turn it on, pop in the pod, press the brew button and it INSTANTLY starts brewing without the wait for the water to heat. HELLO, who wouldn’t love that feature?! Anyway, I digress. Back to the EEO error message that shows up ONLY when my husband’s coffee pods are used. I got to thinking about this and why it only occurred with his Starbucks pod so I decided to do a little investigating. I googled of course, but nothing worthwhile came up. Then I decide to actually cut the pods apart and VOILA, I see the difference and the likely culprit! My husband’s Starbucks pods have this extra plastic filter besides the paper filter. I’ve included photos to see the difference between our pod filters. I’ve concluded that the extra plastic filter in the Starbucks pods gets misaligned with the machine’s puncture needle and then the machine can’t dispense the coffee, thus the EEO error message. In the photos you can see what appear to be needle marks in the plastic filter where the needle missed the intended filter holes after I made a few additional attempts to get the machine to brew this pod. Again, I personally love this coffee maker, so for those of you having EEO errors, I recommend you check your pods FIRST, before you give up on this awesome machine! Why the need for the added plastic filter in the Starbucks pods is even necessary, I’ve no clue. Seems useless to me and clearly a hindrance. We are going to try the handy reusable pod that comes with this coffee maker and ground Starbucks coffee instead of the Starbucks pods.

   Annoyingly loud and somewhat slow. Feels cheaply made. Small water reservoir, clunky lid and angled front face so now I have to turn the coffee maker slightly to the side for easy screen viewing. Coffee is ok. My last coffee maker was an older version of this one. It lasted 10 years before the pump seemed to be giving out! It was definitely better constructed, had a larger water reservoir, flat front face and a very smooth lid mechanism. My husband is going to try to repair the old one. I don’t think the new one will last very long.

   I really wanted to love this coffee maker! I love Cuisinart products & did a little research before purchasing her… but she’s going back. 🙁 I’m not sure if I received one with a slight defect, but upon my first open & close of the brew head, it does not seem to fully close. Maybe that’s normal, but I don’t like it. It’s not flush as it is in product photos. Secondly, she’s quite spitty & messy when brewing. I attached a video of running only water through it (FF to the end) & you can see how far the water goes onto the counter. Maybe if I had a coffee pod in it wouldn’t be so bad…. But if it was coffee all over my counter & machine, that’s too much daily cleanup. The product is pretty, and I again I love the brand, but not this product.

   Approximately 12 years ago before the Christmas holidays, Keurig flooded the TV air waves with commercials for their new K cup pod coffee maker that quickly brewed one cup of coffee. I liked the concept but never heard of Keurig and had no idea who they were or if they were a legitimate company or merely a scam so I didn’t buy their coffee maker. On January 5, 2011 I was shopping in Costco and saw a Cuisinart K cup coffee maker. Having a Cuisinart food processor, can opener, toaster and conventional coffee maker I was familiar with the company and the fine quality of their products. It used the K pods that the other company’s coffee maker used. It was love at first site and I bought the Cuisinart SS780PC coffee maker for $164.99. I loved that coffee maker and used her to pleasure myself every day and some days two, three and more times a day. We’ll here it is 11+ years later and she started to wear out from old age. The pump was sluggish and would no longer pump out a full 12 ounce mug of coffee. I sip and savor every one of those perfectly brewed 12 ounces of coffee. So I felt let me buy the current Cuisinart replacement for the model SS780PC I presently had and I went directly to coffeemakers.us.com and found the SS10 Cuisinart coffee maker and bought it immediately for $139.95. I was impressed with the voluminous number of 5 star reviews and I never pay any mind to an occasional 1 or 2 star review. Negative people write negative reviews and attempt to punish the manufacturer for mishaps caused by their own ignorance. Case in point splashing on the counter top. Possibly Sir Issac Newton could explain it better but if common sense prevailed there would be no splashing on the counter top. When a liquid drips from a higher point down to a standing liquid at a lower point the drops that are standing will splash up from being hit by the falling drops from above, especially if you use a shallow low sided tea cup. If a couple drops splash wipe it up with a paper towel, it’s not the fault of Cuisinart and it’s no big deal. Certainly not rocket science but basic rules of gravity. This new model does not have the blue light illuminatIng the water reservoir when water is low and has two heat settings HOT and VERY HOT rather than multiple degree settings. The engineers at Cuisinart realized these two features are not critical and designed a much better coffee maker for a $25 lower price eleven years after their original model was manufactured I loved my SS780PC but will have a torrid romance with this SS10. It is well designed and attractive, aesthetically adds to the beauty of my custom designed and handsomely decorated gourmet kitchen. I turn it on and immediately the open head icon illuminates, I put in a K pod and in less than one minute I’m sipping a 12 ounce mug of freshly brewed delicious and satisfying coffee. On top of that Cuisinart gives you a three year warranty. Talk about a manufacturer having faith in their product’s quality. I’m so glad I was skeptical years ago and never bought a Keurig. My old Cuisinart gave me 11 years of faithful service and I’m looking forward to a very long and enjoyable relationship with my new SS10. If you’re looking to buy a K pod single serve coffee brewer, don’t waste any more time looking. BUY this one it looks great, represents EXCELLENT VALUE, will brew you an EXCELLENT CUP OF COFFEE in a minute, is covered by Cuisinart’s 3 year warranty and coffeemakers.us.com will deliver it to your front door.    72 once container, can set a turn off time and there is a setting for how hot one wants the water. Now settings for various ounces of water 4, 6, 8, 10, and 12. There is also a descale warning. We set our preferred ounces to 8 and only have to insert a k-cup and hit brew. If we only want hot water, we hit the hot water button instead of the brew button. The only issue I have had is with my reusable k-cups. I have two types. The black rubber seal in the coffee maker lid that seals around the upper needle (see picture) does not seal tight enough against my reusable k-cups. Thus, water leaks out of the reusable k-cup and into the coffee cup and elsewhere. Makes a mess inside and outside. Regular k-cups work great. My personal solution was to remove the needle seal and placing a brass washer around the needle and reinstall the seal to hold the brass washer in place. The leaking problem went away. I don’t know if this issue was by design or if my reusable k-cups are just not tall enough to press against the seal when the lid is closed. The brass washer does not come in contact with the water and does not rust.

    Our Breville k-cup coffee maker finally wore out. It worked great, was made well and lasted for several years, but it was a little noisy so we were looking forward to a new and improved coffee maker. Breville discontinued their k-cup coffee makers, however this Cuisinart model was strikingly similar looking with a larger water reservoir. In fact, it looks almost like a replacement model. So it was an easy choice. Functionally, this Cuisinart coffee maker does a lot of things right. Controls are intuitive and very similar to the old Breville. The large 72-oz reservoir, and fast, relatively quiet coffee production are all nice improvements over our old Breville maker. Build-wise, compared to the older Breville, which was wrapped in stainless steel and looked great on the counter with all stainless appliances, this Cuisinart is a much cheaper package. It’s virtually all plastic, except for the stainless steel drip tray. The worst may be the faux chrome plastic coffee pod lid, which you touch every time you use the maker. As the photo shows, you’ll see every finger print smudge after every use. This is after our first morning’s use. Shouldn’t have to wipe down an appliance after every use, so low scores for excessive cleaning required. Either Cuisinart designers only tested this maker with gloves on or they’re just not in touch with how their appliances are handled.

    First off let me say we love the brewer, we have had numerous issues with the Keurig brand and finally said “NO MORE” to them, I found this one for almost 70 dollars off due to they said it was used, No one had ever actually used it, but they probably received it damaged ( see picture) I did find the little piece in the box and I can glue it back on ( fingers crossed ).. anywhooo, the brewer works great! I tried to brew some hot water before priming the machine, duh.. read directions! lol. after actually doing what I was supposed to do , it works great! I love how nice and hot it gets, 165 degrees, now this can be changed in the menu section, you can also change the default ounces you like to use, it came as 8oz but we like 10oz so I changed that. It’s not any lounder then the keurig’s we’ve had. Would I buy this again? YES, yes I would. Oh, I did see some people thought the water contain on the side might be a issued taking it off and on, LOL..NA… I’m 65 with arthritis in my wrist and fingers. easy peasy… I gave it 5 stars even though it’s a little nicked. I don’t care! I just want a machine to make my coffee and it does that nicely..

    Hace como un año quise regalar una, pero no había, como que dejaron de fabricarla un tiempo. Por eso en cuanto vi que estaba en el mercado nuevamente, la compré, la regalé y me han comentado que funciona exactamente igual que la mía viejita.
    Puedes preparar un café o los que quieras, es súper rápida, y como tiene la opción de usar café molido, es muy práctico y económico.
    Realmente la recomiendo muchísimo.
    Es la mejor de su tipo.

    So I got this yesterday and used it 3 times already into this morning. After years of overnight brewing, straining it in the morning, then microwave it to get it hot, then washing the Mason jars and lids, and the filters I had enough. I did it that way because of my acid sensitive stomach so I was worried if doing it this new way would upset my stomach. It did not 😊. Anyway I decided to change it up for something faster. THIS coffee maker is very nice. The coffee comes out very hot and quick, and this machine is much quiter than a dang microwave and the beeping beeping when done. Cuisinart made a good machine. Also cheaper than a Kuerig. Now the best part IS, it comes with a reusable cup and filter which makes this environmentally friendly because I don’t like those k-cups with their bad aluminum tops and plastic. If you want a nice quick and quiet, inexpensive machine, I highly recommend this one. The blue light makes it look nice too.

    I purchased this updated model because the plastic on my SS-700 was fading and I thought this would look nicer and have some brewing improvements. NOOoooooooo. This new design is terrible. It splashes coffee all over the place. Here are some photos of how it splashes to coffee onto the back of the unit and onto the kitchen counter after JUST ONE USE. I could not imagine the mess after a week’s worth of brewing. This means constant cleaning. In addition, the used K-Cup was dripping from the needle hole when I took it out to throw it away. The previous model SS-700 used K-Cups did not drip, probably because it makes a smaller needle hole. The 10 oz brew tastes a bit watery from the SS-10. The lid mechanism on this new design feels a bit awkward since you first lift up on a spring loaded lever, which then pulls up the lid. The K-Cup remains upright on this model. The previous model SS-700 has a nice solid feeling loading mechanism that moves the holder so the K-Cup is at an angle facing you. I like the older mechanism much better than this cheap feeling one. I like the blue LED on the previous model SS-700 that highlights the water remaining. For some reason they removed the light on this updated model. Even the charcoal filter holder has a worse design on this new model. The plastic cage holds the filter somewhat near the water intake, whereas the previous model SS-700 the filter placement is more precise relative to the water intake. This one also has a slightly smaller water reservoir, and an overall cheaper feel. There are no improvements to the LCD display or programming options. I guess that this new model SS-10 is the result of financial engineering by Cuisinart managers looking to shave costs anywhere they can. This is a missed opportunity that will hurt Cuisinart. I’m returning this junk and hooking up my wonderful classic SS-700.

    I purchased this to replace my original Cuisinart K-cup machine, which started leaking after 10 years – so this review is a comparison between the two. Some things have been downgraded, and some things have been improved. The original machine was much sturdier. The lever on this new machine that you lift up to insert the k-cup is plastic, and is like a flap that you pull up on that then pulls the rest of the lid open. It feels like it could easily snap off, compared to the one on the old unit that was made of a heavy duty metal. In addition, the finish is like a silver mirror color, and it picks up every fingerprint that touches it. It seems like a bad design choice for the most frequently touched part of the machine. Also, the lid for the water reservoir does not sit flush with the rest of the top. It’s a minor annoyance, but something I notice and attribute to Cuisinart having cheaped out on certain things, compared to the original model. Finally, when selecting a cup size for brewing, the sizes are arranged left (smallest) to right (largest)…and the buttons to change sizes are below them – for a smaller cup you press the down arrow, and for a larger cup the up arrow. Oddly, the up arrow is on the left and the down arrow on the right. So they are to go up a size (right on the displayed sizes) you have to press the button on the left. The old unit had the button to scroll left on the actual left side, and the button to scroll right on the right. This new design is backwards and doesn’t make sense. If that was confusing, see the picture of the buttons and display I’m including. Despite those things, I’m still happy overall with it, mostly because there is no more waiting for the unit to heat up! As soon as you turn the power on, it’s ready to brew. It also takes up less space on the counter, which is nice. I do wish they wouldn’t have replaced the metal with plastic though. It does not seem like this new one will as long as my original.

    Everything about this Coffee Maker is wonderful! It is the best coffee pod maker we have ever purchased. Previously we have bought 5 Kurig makers in total since they first came out. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY ON A KURIG. Our last one lasted exactly 2 years and then all of a sudden one morning it would not power on. My wife tried everything she knew to try as I was out of town then she called Kurig customer service and they told her to try the exact same things and still it wouldn’t turn on. They then told her there was nothing more they could offer as it was un-repairable and she would need to purchase a new one. It was a $220.00 machine that lasted 2 years. They then said they could offer a 30% off coupon if we bought another one from them. The coupon never did come. As it turned out, we benefited because I found the Cusinart machine on coffeemakers.us.com and it only cost $130.00 delivered. Moral of the story is STAY AWAY FROM KURIG and buy Cusinart. You will not be disappointed!!!

    I purchased this coffee maker for my husband for Christmas last year, after exhaustive amounts of research on single-serve coffee machines. I decided to go with the Cuisinart because, despite not having the widespread reputation of Keurig, they seemed to have much more consistently positive reviews than all of the different models Keurig offers. I’m glad I made this choice! My husband has been using the Cuisinart at least 5 days per week every week for almost a full year and (knock on wood) has never had a single issue with it. Nothing has had to be replaced, nothing malfunctions or splashes all over the place, and all he really has to do is refill the water container every once in a while. It’s a big testament to this coffee maker that he uses it as often as he does, as he avoids anything that causes even a little fuss. He would rather just not bother. I’m not a coffee drinker, but he has been happy with the options for the different pods, as well. The Cuisinart is compatible with every “K-cup” aka Pod that I’ve purchased for him, and I also got him a reusable pod that he could put loose tea leaves, coffee grounds, or dandelion/mushroom bits in to make his own concoctions. I also plan to try out some hot chocolate pods this year as the weather cools down! I highly recommend this coffee maker. It’s a nice-looking, sleek machine that’s worth the counter space.

    After two failed Keurig K-Supreme Plus Single Serve Coffee makers, we decided to pivot and search for another brand that can still use the k-cups. We settled on the Cuisinart Coffee Maker, Single serve 72 ounce Reservoir Coffee Machine. I am a big fan of Cuisinart products so we were confident of the purchase. Have used it now for a week, making 8-10 servings a day for the household. It has been a great purchase so far. We are experiencing none of the issues with the 1 star comments. It actually makes 12 ounces when you select that option. Coffee is piping hot. No lingering drips after cycle is done. Programmable power is very helpful for the mornings, knowing that it will turn itself on and off at the programmed setting. It is stylish and matches the overall color scheme of our kitchen. Only downside is the drip tray. Cuisinart claims that it can accommodate a 20oz traveler. We use Yeti and Orca tumblers for our coffee every morning so we needed to remove the drip tray. The remaining bottom frame of the tray has a hole in it, which will leak liquid onto the countertop if it drips when you remove your cup.

    **** UPDATE 3/17/2025 **** It has been two years five months since my purchase. I’m still brewing no less than four K Cups per day. No issues to date. I’m still using the 1 to 2 vinegar/water ratio to descale as recommended by Cuisinart. Today I ran a 12 oz hot water cycle (without K Cup) and got the same 13 oz output as when the coffee maker was new. As stated in my original review if a K Cup was used it soak up some water and the output would be about 12 oz, **** END OF UPDATE **** I purchased this unit on October 15, 2022. Today is June 23, 2024. About four or five cups of coffee have been brewed daily since I received the unit. So far I have not had any issues. ***** QUALITY ***** Some reviewers compared this model SS-10P to an older similar Cuisinart model SS-700 (discontinued) stating the older model is built better. I have been on this planet quite a few years and agree “they don’t make em like the used to”. IMHO this applies to most small kitchen appliances whether the brand is Cuisinart, Keurig, ACME or whoever. With that being said my review is based on what is available in today’s market I purchased this Cuisinart SS-10P to replace a Keurig Slim that was on it’s second warranty replacement. The Keurig Slim was purchased to replace an older working Keurig to save counter space. One deciding feature for my purchase is the three year warranty and U.S. based support (I think) available by voice call. I called Cuisinart regarding another appliance and I asked the agent if he was U.S. Based. He replied yes. ***** FEATURES ***** The features are basic. Brewing temperatures, auto shut off, auto power up (based on time set), clock, 4, 8, 10 and 12 ounce cups, hot water only, time to descale notice. There is no brew strength setting. ***** BREWING AND NOISE ***** As other reviewers have stated the brew time is slower than some other coffee makers. I agree. In my opinion the faster the brew the weaker the coffee, the slower the brew the stronger the coffee. Maybe the brew speed is a compromise. I agree the brewing process is louder than other coffee makers. For my personal preference this does not bother me at all. How loud is too loud is subjective. The select brew size is reasonably accurate. I ran a hot water only 12 oz. The amount of water measured was about 13 oz. See attached photo number 1. If a coffee pod was being brewed some of the water would have been soaked up by the coffee grounds. ***** MAINTENANCE ***** I don’t baby my Cuisinart. I have been waiting on the descale notice to appear before descaling the unit. Today after descaling I decided to descale once per month in the future and not wait for the descale notice to appear. The Cuisinart manual hints at not waiting on the descale notice. This may add little more to the life of the unit. Cuisinart says to use 20 oz vinegar mixed with 40 of water to descale the unit. I heave been doing this. No problems. I use store brand vinegar which is literally dirt cheap compared to some coffee maker manufactures who recommend their branded pricey descale solution. I purchased the Cuisinart filters (two pack) just once. I no longer use their pricey filters or a third party cheaper filter (lower quality?). I use filtered tap water for brewing. Yes, I agree filters may help. It’s just my personal choice. My only real complaint is cleaning the area under the “pod holder”. See photo number 3 with the holder removed. Over time some loose grounds will find it’s way to this hidden area. I can get just one finger into this area from the top. I used two methods to clean. (1) A wet paper towel wrapped around my finger. (2) Let completely dry and use a small brush to sweep the grounds out of the bottom hole (pod holder removed). I am dinging one star because of this design. ***** CONCLUSION ***** My personal requirement is a basic reliable coffee maker. I use the auto shut off feature, the brew size and hot water only feature. I don’t use the other features. I am not a picky coffee drinker. Overall this Cuisinart unit works for me.

    My Keurig stopped working prematurely again so I’ve written them off. I would consider this a decent replacement. I like the simplicity of the functions, it makes coffee in the same amount of time as any single serve maker. It’s sleek and modern looking. I love the blue lit screen and bonus points for the time display. The reservoir is big enough for multiple uses before having to fill up. I’m glad the water gets low enough before saying “add water” my Keurig before would be 1/4 filled with water and always screamed at me to refill prematurely in my opinion. I refill my reservoir with bottled water so I’m not handling it and attaching it to the maker full of water. Since there’s no handle I’d assume carrying that around would be slightly challenging or at least irritating. There’s two heat settings “hot” and “Xhot”. I have it set to hot and it’s hot enough for me to enjoy immediately with added cold creamer. The hidden side door with the reusable coffee filter is a pretty neat idea. Im glad they made a space for it so it won’t end up just rolling around in a drawer. The big downside for me is that this thing is ridiculously LOUD. I’ve attached a video if you’d like to hear what it sounds like. If your kitchen is far away enough from bedrooms I don’t see why it’ll bother anyone. The other thing I dislike is the mess it creates. This is the messiest coffee maker I’ve ever owned. There’s so many coffee drip marks on the counter. It’s tolerable but if you’re rushing out the house the last thing you want to be worried about is wiping up your coffee area.

    For us, this has been a great coffee/tea machine. Our first one lasted several years and was used a lot. The versatility of making your own coffee in the reusable filter cup, a regular K-cup or making tea, makes this great for our needs. If there was anything we would change, we would make it capable of taking taller cups. We hope to get as many years out of this one as we did out of the last one.

    I bought this to replace a Breville K-Cup coffee maker which we loved, but they no longer manufacture or sell. It died a slow death after many years of reliable service. The bottom line is that this Cuisinart is a very functional K-Cup Coffee maker and good value, as long as you understand what it is. Specifically, this unit is NOT stainless steel, it is silver plastic and only on the front. The K Cup holder handle, which you need to press down to brew, will show *all* fingerprints. The water container is finicky and takes a couple tries to reseat if you remove it to refill (but you do not have to). The water container does not have an LED to light up the water, let alone one that flashes when the water is low. This is a good unit with a small-ish footprint and I recommend it based on the available K Cup options. In full credit to the manufacturer, Cuisinart did not claim to do any of these things in the product description. I think this is a user problem whereas my expectations were misaligned, based on my prior experience with the Breville unit. I do feel like we took a step back in technology, design, and materials. Cuisinart can do better.

    I was looking for something that had the features I wanted and still looked nice on the counter. I’ve had numerous Keurigs in the past and switched to Cuisinart for my last coffeemaker purchase. It was a dual single serve and full pot model and worked fine until recently. So far, I’ve used this one twice after the initial set up. PROS: 1. Color and style – Thank you Cuisinart for something other than black! This one is pretty and doesn’t stick out like a sore thumb in my off white kitchen. The blue light is pleasing. the water tank is easily accessed and filled. 2. It makes hot coffee. I am accustomed to heating my coffee in the microwave after brewing, but this machine made it pleasantly hot and enjoyable without heating. I did use the XHOT function. 3. Brew strength was good. I didn’t find a strong or bold feature, but I typically use a bolder coffee on the 10 oz. setting and a lesser bold type on the 8 oz, size and both were good. 4. Easy set up. Instructions were straightforward and simple. CONS: 1. The item I received had water droplets in the water tank. I called Cuisinart and there was no real definitive explanation except maybe it was tested. I don’t see any indication of it being refurbished. I just thought this was odd. 2. If you do unplug the coffee maker (I did this looking for the serial number which is on the bottom), you need to reset the time. My old Cuisinart retained the time. No big deal. 3. Water Filter: When someone buys a white or off-white appliance, it is likely they care about color. The water filter holder is black and really noticeable. In my opinion, it detracts from the beauty of the appliance, so I elected not to use it. The cord and the on/off switch are also black.

    Another Keurig died and I ordered a new one but the control buttons were on top and we could not see them as our coffee maker sits up on a shelf above the counter. So sent it back. The one we were replacing was discontinued and a big box store wanted $699.00!!!!!!!. Found this and the reviews were good. Controls on the front. Holds lots of water and hot water on demand. Seriously, you turn it on and can brew right away!! No waiting for the unit to heat up. Can brew immediately after a brew too. There is a rinse button that you can push between brews. Puts out about 1/2″ of water in your cup. Dump it out and brew your next cup. This is great as my husband drinks coffee and I drink tea. Very happy with this

    We purchased the Cuisinart SS-10 to replace a Cuisinart K-cup brewer which had failed after 8 years. The previous unit was a Cuisinart SS-700 in silver, that is now only available in black (we prefer silver to match our kitchen). We generally liked the SS-700, so we decided to go with Cuisinart again, also because the “look” is better than the competing Keurig units and we don’t really care about Keurig 2.0 capabilities (coffee pods). Overall, our experience with the SS-10 has been disappointing: 1. The settings for cup size are very imprecise (see image), the 6 oz actually produces 7 oz and the 8 oz produces 9 oz. Since there’s nothing in between you get your choice of coffee that’s either too weak or too strong (or you can do what I do and set it to 8 oz setting, but pull the cup off the brewer when it actually reaches 8 oz and let the other 1 oz fall into the tray. You can get away with that exactly 3 times before your wife yells at you.) 2. The closure mechanism is different than the Keurig units and different than our prior Cuisinart SS-700 — instead of pivoting the k-cup receptacle out and forward, which makes it convenient to remove, the SS-10 receptacle stays in place. It’s just slightly less convenient to insert or remove a k-cup. 3. The other issue with the closure mechanism is that it feels like it requires move leverage and force to close the unit, this is because you are not “scissoring” instead you are pushing down to pierce the k-cup. It makes you feel like you are breaking something. 4. Another issue is the feel of the cover — it is held up by what feels like two rubber pieces rubbing together in a series of small bumps. While I cannot validate this, it feels very flimsy and feels like it will not last long. 5. Speaking of the cover (see image) it is also inconveniently implemented in “chrome”. Not only does this detract from the matte silver design of the rest of the unit, it also shows finger prints and water marks easily. You need to clean the top every time you use the machine. 6. The 70 oz water capacity just seems small next to the 80 oz SS-700. I’m was not sure why it felt that way since it’s really only about a cps difference, but then I realized that we were actually only capable of producing 9 oz coffees, so after 7 cups, it wants to be refilled! With the SS-700, and more precise cups, an 80 oz tank can do 10 cups (3 more). 7. This is just a “nit” in comparison to the other issues, but the “BREW” button is too small. Overall, had the unit been able to measure liquid, I might have been able to forgive the other faults, but given that it’s mission is to deliver precisely measured, exactly heated cups of coffee, I could not live with it. It was returned in favor of a Keurig K575 (about $50 more than the SS-10). Pros: – One of the better looking silver K-cup brewers Cons: – Cannot produce a decent cup of coffee – Always needs cleaning – Small~ish water tank Recommendation: If you really like the “look” and don’t care about the coffee, it’s a nice unit and very price-competetive. If you are looking for a good cup of coffee, look elsewhere.
