Blew up for absolutely no reason while filling with cold water. Very disappointed with this garbage product, and seller is unreachable.
This portable electric espresso machine is a pretty solid little gadget! It’s easy to use and works well for both coffee grounds and small capsules. While it says it supports large capsules, it’s important to note that this does not mean K-cups, which was a bit disappointing. However, it does heat up quickly, and I like that it has the option for both hot brewing and cold brew, making it more versatile than some other portable coffee makers. I even experimented with using a K-cup by cutting it open and just using the grounds, surprisingly, it worked pretty well for making hot cocoa! One downside is that it’s a bit slow. Since it only brews a small amount at a time, you have to dump the liquid into another cup and repeat the process if you want a larger serving. While that’s expected for an espresso machine, it does feel a little inefficient when making multiple rounds. If you’re looking for quick, single-shot espresso, it works fine, but for larger servings, it can be a bit tedious. My biggest complaint is the battery life. It only lasts for three to four uses before needing a recharge, and then it takes several hours to fully charge again. That can be inconvenient if you’re on the go and don’t have access to power. It’s a great little machine with some limitations, but still worth it if you need a compact, travel-friendly espresso maker.
For Christmas, my husband bought me a Verismo. I have a Tassimo. He knows I like making my own lattes. My Tassimo is over 10 years old and working just fine. I thought, "I don't need another latte machine, but it's a gift, "Fun! I'll try it!" Verismo leaked - a lot, took it back - got another, even exchange - Leaked - a lot. Took it back. (refund) He still wanted to buy me a nice coffee machine for Christmas. I researched this coffee machine, saw the great reviews, decided I needed a nice coffee pot to sit alongside my Tassimo latte machine. I ordered this on a Saturday afternoon, rec'd it Monday morning before 9am! Wow! Prime rocks! I have used this machine 10 times now and I'm very happy with it. I can't believe how tall it is - I sat it next to my Tassimo which I thought was big - laughing. This is an attractive machine. It comes with the gold lifetime coffee filter which I do prefer. I haven't had any problems with machine, I'm happy with taste of coffee, I like the temperature choices. I've only used the 1-4 cup setting - I can't see it being able to hold 12 but I've not tried it - I'm guessing those are small cups. Found it interesting - the price difference on the Cuisinarts. Depending on color. The brushed metal and black chrome were $20 more, some of the metallics are higher. So, you want to pay attention to this. I ordered this a few days after Christmas and I see the price has went up now (2 weeks later) since ordering this so getting it during the holidays was a good idea. Update: 1/17/2013 Con: I just had someone ask me if I could think of a negative/con about this machine what would it be. So, I sit here staring at my coffee machine, chin resting on palm of hand, other hand strumming fingers lightly on the counter, hmmmmmm.. thinking....thinking....thinking I've Got It! I don't like that the clock is so light. When I walk in to the room, I'd like to see the time from across the room, but it is not bright enough for me to make it out. So, I have to walk up to the machine and get real close to it in order to make out the time. It's a keeper! Update: 10/2015 I am still using this machine several times a week along with Tassimo. I love the look of this coffee pot sitting on my counter. The Charcoal water filter and permanent gold tone filter are still just like new - I was curious how long the filter would last and I've not had one single problem with it. I've never had this machine leak - no problems with it and the temp is perfect. I love this coffee pot - it was so worth the price to me. Look at the date on when I bought this and my updates - several years in between - this is definitely worth the price
I wanted a machine that I could adjust strength and temperature. We usually always grind our own coffee and use reusable k cups. This seemed perfect, until I tried using reusable cups. It doesn’t recognize it as coffee, only water. Upset that I had to return…I started thinking about it…and I put a paper k cup filter in the reusable cups (k cup must have the five holes on top!) I put my fresh ground coffee in, closed the paper top and lid and sure enough, the machine recognized it as coffee! I can adjust flavor, temperature and amount! Perfect brew!
I’m not sure if a machine or a human being boxed up this coffee maker, but I’d like to believe a person wouldn’t have seen this box and thought I’d be thrilled to receive it in its condition. I opened up the pristine coffeemakers.us.com shipping box to find a beat up Bella Coffee Maker box, so I know it didn’t happen during shipment. I was worried that the coffee maker would be just as damaged or expected it to be used like others had mentioned, but was relieved to see the coffee maker somehow survived the punishment. Luckily, this wasn’t a gift or I would have been mortified. Since it’s for personal use, I guess I’ll keep it and see how long it lasts. After making a cup of coffee, I noticed it does spatter a lot. I use a travel mug most of the time and it fits perfectly underneath the dispenser, so it keeps the mess contained. Not a huge deal to me. The noise quality is similar to my Keurig, so I can’t say it’s super quiet. I just want a reliable machine that makes hot coffee without a mess. Only time will tell…I’ll update the stars after using it a couple of months.
I just literally bought this coffee maker July 26 and clean it weekly with vinegar. I happened to notice what I thought was a coffee stain to actually be RUST. I'm furious. That little metal tab is some sort of clasp that only has a coat of some sort of paint. I have emailed the support and and am awaiting a response. This coffee maker is unnecessarily loud when it's done brewing and on the shut off. Water gets trapped in the handle of the actual pot so when you pour water in the maker it runs all over the place. White was also a bad choice or the material used to make this was low grade as it stains easily and can only be cleaned with Clorox clean up to get the stains out. I won't change my rating because this is a serious issue but will update when they respond.
I uploaded a video and some pictures...This little machine is quite nice. Not too slow, not as fast as Keurig. Fits a medium normal size cup only. The arm comes off for washing..just make sure to put it back in before adding water or there will be a mess. Also the arm swings, so you can add coffee in the nice, removable basket and move it aside to add water. If anything changes, I will update my review later...I plan on using this for hot water for tea, instant coffee and soups...since most of my coffee pots end up being ruined with old coffee flavor. For coffee I ordered the Holstein 5 cup coffee maker in red. It will be a nice little set. After a Third run through, I took one star off because the lid won't go down and stay down all the way. It still brew tho. Watch out for steam. May call and get product support to fix this issue
This Keurig is perfect for where I need it. I like the fact that the water reservoir is on the back of the unit instead of the side. I use purified water (by reverse osmosis) to brew so I don't plan to use any filters, which are sold separately, by the way. If you don't use purified water, then I strongly suggest purchasing the filters & filter holders because non purified water will damage your machine over time.
I've always wanted a plumbed coffee unit that produces coffee with the high quality taste you'd get with a Bunn or reservoir-based unit. However, the only plumb-able Bunn units are massive, ugly commercial units. I'd explored a plumbed Keurig and even a high-end built-in unit ($3000+), but neither are good solutions for fanatical coffee drinkers who prefer a pot of coffee over single-serve cups. The Brew Express checks all of these boxes and installation is easy. It looks nice and works great. The coffee it produces tastes like a Bunn, which is what I wanted (compared to a Mr. Coffee / drip maker which is slow and does not taste as good) Super happy with this purchase and highly recommend it. Can be installed in a matter of hours for a handy homeowner. In my case, I had to relocate a 2" PVC sewer vent pipe that was directly behind my desired mounting location, but I still was finished in 1 day.
The product is described as 16c/2L. If the instructions on the packaging are followed, the product will make 58oz/1.8L of beverage, that would be 16 cups of 3-5/8 ounces each. The weld on top of the handle is a mess. All the other welds look good, and if it were in an inconspicuous location it would be fine, but this is glaring to me. I could not believe the pot only had the damage to the bottom where it was pushed in and now does not sit flat on the counter top. Maybe they should charge a few dollars more and put some packing material around it instead of placing it into a paper bag to be shipped all the way to the United States from the United Kingdom. I purchased this product because it was advertised as the largest and it may well be, and it is a testament to its durability that it survived a trip across the pond in a paper bag with minimal damage, but I am still a little disappointed.
I love iced coffee, and like cold brew even more. This has made it so easy to have cold brew coffee anytime and doesn't sacrifice any of the flavor like just icing down hot coffee does. It's so easy to use and the filter is about the height of the bottle which allows you to make it as strong as you'd like. The glass is thick and the handle makes pouring very easy. The seal on the mesh filter is very tight and not a single ground made it into the glass. There's such a rich flavor from cold brew and this makes it easy as it gets. Outstanding product. Highly recommended.
I searched everywhere for a coffee pot that does not use black plastic. I thought this was it. But it’s not. It uses a black basket. So if you buy this to avoid making your coffee in recycled e-waste (look it up) you will need to also buy a replacement basket.
I'm not sure how to rate this. I rearranged my entire kitchen counter and upper cabinets, where I keep my coffee supplies, to make this close to the sink and ease of operation. I love the look of it and like how it is easy to add water and fill coffee grounds. The pot is 60yo hands friendly and feels good in my hands when pouring. Not too heavy. I bought only for making smaller pots of HOT coffee for myself, since no one else drinks it. At first, I thought it was pretty good but now im at my wits end! I've owned so many coffee makers in my lifetime, most come with easy instructions, but this is the most confusing piece of paper I've ever tried to read...my advice is to separate the 3 languages for easy reading, understanding and QUICK finding of what you need to find. I went through so many math problems trying to figure out how much coffee I need for each half or full pot and also smaller cups. Very frustrating cuz didn't see it in the directions until today. Oh and seriously, it only stays warm for a half hour without having to go through hoops to figure it out. The Keep warm button is USELESS & doesn't work unless you have it on "drip stop"??? Seriously that's ridiculous. And pic I took you'll see says H2O, but there IS WATER IN THERE. I suspect this has some internal issues I'll never figure out. I have 2 weeks left to return it and I'm really about ready to. For the price this is NOT WORTH IT!
Product description said can fit a 7.1in travel mug. Definitely not the case. My mug is just over 6.5in and is definitely at the limit with the drip tray removed. Pretty obvious given the price it's cheaply made but it does job and much cheaper than it's competitors.
