EDIT: The company reached out to me right away and sent me a replacement that has been working well for multiple brews! Great customer service. I purchased this product and it did work well one time. However, upon my second brewing a small crack developed below the handle if the pitcher and small amounts of coffee would leak out into my refrigerator. I never dropped the pitcher or bumped it into anything or did anything to cause any sort of damage. I don’t know if this can happen due to the cold temperature if the refrigerator? Perhaps I should have bought a more expensive/higher quality cold brew pitcher?
I bought one of the single-serve Keurigs when they first came out and I paid $99 for it. I loved it and so when it kicked the bucket, I was looking around for another. I found this purple one. This style is now going for $69. I know it’s a little bigger than the mini’s but it’s $30 cheaper too. Between my old one and this one. It doesn’t have the ounces under the lid. The old one could be filled to 6, 8 or 10 oz. A little disappointed that this one doesn’t have it. Also the pic of this one was a dark purple but when I opened the box, it was a lighter shade of purple. Though, it appears darker when no light is on it.
I was so excited about this coffee maker. The 4th time I used it, I heard it crack as it was heating. So much for the chemists grade glass. I notified Chemex of the problem and that it was a recent purchase and had only been used a few times. Their response was that I could purchase a "Factory Second" which would have cosmetic problems for $10 plus the cost of shipping. I was honestly floored that they wouldn't stand behind their product and politely requested a new one. They refused. I am going to return this to coffeemakers.us.com along with all the stuff I purchased to go along with it and let coffeemakers.us.com deal with them. Buyer beware!!
I had this sitting in my cart for so long because I wasn’t sure if I would like it or use it enough. I am so glad I made the decision to buy it because I am absolutely in love with it and it’s one of the best purchases I made. So if you have yours just sitting in your cart, this is your sign to just buy it! It’s easy to use and you won’t be disappointed! The smaller one is perfect for just one person, unless you drink multiple cups a day, but it only means you will have to brew more for the next day which isn’t hard to do. I am a visual person, so I brought it upon myself to help others out with tape measurements. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do!
Great Little French press, but cheaply made. Top came off first use.
Excellent filtering process. Leaves. No sludge at the bottom of my coffee cup. It could use a marker to indicate the direction the top needs to be in for pouring. Currently you have to look in through the spout to line up the lid for pouring. Keeps beverages hot for a little while, don't know how long. Easy to use, comes with extra filtering screens.
I’ve been making iced coffee the normal way through a high end Bunn coffee maker for years. I would double the grounds and then put it over ice and got two or three days worth of iced coffee that was pretty good. I didn’t realize that way was really just kinda average until I tried this thing. I really like this item. The filters mesh quality is heavy duty and the lids are excellent. I’ve been using it for about a month. And I now know what I’m doing. A little trial and error will get you exactly the strength of iced coffee you want. My method includes 16 heaping tablespoons of coffee and then max fill the jar with cold water. Flow the water directly through the grounds in the mesh filter of course. It takes a few minutes to flow through. Then I put it in the fridge for 18-24 hours, and remove the filter and grounds (letting all the good stuff drip into the jar before setting aside). I attached some pictures and a quick video. This method makes what is essentially an iced coffee concentrate. Super strong and powerful if you drink that straight. I add a little water and then get 5 to 6 days of really delish iced coffee. I’d suggest getting a second glass jar and lid. I make another batch and put this one in the dishwasher. I’m most impressed with the stainless steel mesh filter quality. Five star item.
Exactly what I expected. Cold brew at its finest.
I am so pleased with this beautiful and easy to use coffee pot. My mom really likes it. Wish I could give it 10 stars.
While we really like the coffee it produces, the operation is flakey at best. We have to unplug and plug it back in to make coffee or to blend the milk sometimes. The internal software is terrible as the device tried to be too smart (like not blending if you are not making a cappuccino, or refusing to generate a second shot from the k-cup until you open and close the bail) and in that attempt ends up going into some beep-beep-beep mode where all the lights flash until you unplug it and plug it back in. In just using it regularly, you will be amazed at how long it takes to make the next cup. Turn it off and on again, and it makes the next cup right away. Irritating operation, great coffee. That’s why you see used ones for sale on coffeemakers.us.com.
I have been using a French press for daily coffee for 3 years now. The coffee is so much better then drip coffee makers with deeper flavor which translates to not tasting watered down. My first french press was the 20oz Bodum which I was happy with but it only makes enough coffee for two cups and with it taking on average 10min (4min if you have hot water on demand) to make coffee two cups is not enough. We changed to the 1.5L Bodum and at the same time purchased the 1.5L Gint Carafe (B07RDNK5MM). These two work perfectly together. The Bodum makes plenty of coffee for 2-4 people and the Carafe keeps it perfect for hours. We have made coffee in the morning and it was still warm the next morning. Since the thermos is not adding heat to the coffee it doesn't taste burnt even over night. If this is your first time purchasing a french press I would suggest buying a grinder as well. Fresh ground coffee is preferred to pre-ground. We had a black ad decker blade grinder first and have since upgraded to the Cuisinart CBM-18. Cons. - Thin Glass: The glass on this is not as thick as I would like. We recently had to order a second one due to the one we had cracking when it was bumped by a spoon in the sink. I would like to see something with a thickness similar to a beaker since I believe that would last forever.
After three uses the face of the controls fell off, very flimsy, do not think it will last long, love the feature of having a coffee and espresso machine together, I had a west bend dual maker for years just wore it out, very disappointed in this KRUPS unit, with the name I thought it would be a good machine, I have returned the coffee maker.
I love this cold brew coffee maker! It’s really helped me drink healthier coffee and has such good flavor. It’s so simple to use.
I’ve now been using the OXO BREW since Jan 2016. I really appreciate how easy it is to use & to clean. All the parts are easily hand washed & sturdy enough to last this long, not that I’m hard on them. I also like how everything fits into itself for storage. I’m not a coffee expert, so I will not profess that it makes a better cup of coffee, but I like that I brew the carafe & then store in the refrigerator. I have used it to add coffee to beer I’ve brewed (concentrated coffee is better for this) but mostly the cold brew is added to smoothies to give me a caffeine pick up. On occasion I want a cup of coffee, I can make a cup anytime & not have to brew a pot. I’ve enjoyed the OXO BREW & know I’ll continue to enjoy it. If your interested in trying cold brew coffee, I’d definitely recommend the OXO BREW.
