well, i had the same issue a lot of folks on here had. it overflowed grounds all over the place when brewing. heres the simple solution. If you look at my attached picture, you see the valve plunger (white stem) coming out of the water feed. in the picture mine has already been trimmed, but if you look at yours youll see that the untrimmed stem has an obvious "skinny" bit at the top. Cut off the skinny bit so the stem is uniform, problem solved. In my opinion it still comes out a bit quick but dosnt overflow (with 6 scoops of coffee). you could tri it a bit more to slow it down a little more. All that stem is is a lever for the valve, so when you trim it, it opens the valve to a lesser degree. Great coffee maker after ya figure that bit out!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Using this machine for few months now on daily basis. I love that its easy to clean....i clean the base and used grounds after every use to avoid buildup. I would give it five stars if the steamer was a longer wand like on more professional machines. I managed to replace mine with a wand from an old Krupps machine... this was with some crafty cutting and brazing. There doesnt seem to be an easy way to replace it otherwise. Nevertheless included steam wand works very well and i also like that it is possible to use pre-ground coffee in addition to just beans. Machine is not too loud and has decent selections for the first time setup. I only hope the brewing mechanism and water pump hold out. I also have one of these Gaggia machines at work and i've seen it take ALOT of daily use without any problems which is why i chose this model in the first place. 1 Year Update: So far mostly good. Problem with damaged o-ring on nozzle for water supply to brew group. Replacement found locally and problem solved. See parts diagram. Steam wand modification holding out very well. All functions working without problems. Did a major cleaning of the brew group and re-lubed with silicone grease. Also made a descaling with vinegar just for maintenance.

Super easy to use and clean. I do pour the coffee out into another container if i don't finish it in one day so that it doesn't wind up too concentrated but between me and my husband that is usually not a problem. Very satisfied with the quality and looks of it. And for the price you can't beat it .

I was very disappointed with the brew strength. It used twice as many beans as my old grind/brew coffeemaker, and yielded brewed coffee that was dark caramel in color and translucent when held up to the light, even at the highest "strength" setting. In my opinion, strong coffee should be nearly black when held up to the light. The problem seemed to be the grind, which was coarser than even store-bought ground coffee. I thought it might even be a defective unit, but Cuisinart customer service was poor. They never returned my emails, phone calls to customer service had a wait time greater than 20 minutes, and when I finally got a representative, he proceeded first to read the troubleshooting tips right from the manual (which I'd already done), and then challenged my suggestion that it might be a defective unit ("Does it grind?" "Well, yes, but -- " "Does it brew?" "Well, yes, but --"). He finally offered to replace the unit, but by that time I had decided to just return it. Even if it brewed better coffee, it was still messy and somewhat complicated to use, and the poor customer service was the last straw. I'd give it one star, but feel I have to give it the benefit of the doubt, since it may indeed have been defective and I declined the warranty replacement. If you buy this, I hope you have better luck!

Really! Why spend 10 or more times the price of a drip coffee maker? The KBTS is visually pleasing, but more importantly, it is calibrated and engineered to bring the ideal slightly less than boiling water to its' coffee basket. That makes for a precise and consistently fine cup of coffee. With just one solid on/off switch and unencumbered by Yet Another Kitchen Clock, the Moccamaster has fewer failure points than any programmable model. It's copper heating vessel promises a long service life compared to any standard white metal heater. Stash the box with the Xmas lights: You'll want to baby the Last Coffee Maker You'll Ever Need when you move house! I chose the all stainless carafe 32 oz model rather than risk the breakage possibility of a larger capacity glass lined carafe. Pros: Excellent quality, solid build Fast, almost instant, hot water Large carafe Water temperature selectable and size selectable by ounces Coffee size selectable Large water holder, plus internal tank Rubberized non-slip cup holder (unheated) on top Large carbon filter Touch panel with dial Mug tray has drip pan Cons: Tall footprint Panel locks too quickly Small learning curve to figure out settings Not a fan of the carafe lip, which tends to splash out towards the end Tends to splatter water when filling cups (not using the carafe) Non-height adjustable mug tray No warmer for glass carafe Excellent packaging. I liked the fact that most of the packaging, including the cover bags, were made of paper and not plastic. Although it has plenty of coffee settings, it is still just a drip coffee maker, which uses #4 paper filters. Most of the coffee settings seem to be more trouble than it is worth. Just make a carafe and use that coffee to fill your travel mug. You'll still have to fill the filter holder with coffee and clean out afterwards. I suppose the good thing is you don't have to measure the water, which comes from the filtered tank. Choose the size of the pour and it will only use that amount of water. As for the water-only settings, those are more useful if you're looking for no-wait (almost) hot water on demand for tea or other drinks. You can choose your perfect temperature and size as desired. The machine will remember that for you, so you don't have to reselect every time. The best part is the large, filtered water tank, which bypassed the annoying refilling of the tank after every morning’s coffee. It pulls out easily, with a handle to carry. It is large, so filling up at the refrigerator’s water won’t work well, while the sink faucet does. For the tea drinker in your life, or even a coffee lover (or both) this device is a hard sell. It is well built and looks great, but I'd rather use my full-automatic for coffee (or a single serve) and a boiler for water. Giving it 4-stars for the quality but only 3 for being useful.

  • The filter quality isn't really good. See the detail picture after only 1 week of usage. now I can not even open the lit after I screw close.

Worked fine for 3-4 months but after that it always leaks from the sides, No matter how tight it is. I guess the red rubber ring couldn't handle temperature variation in/out of fridge. Wish it was of better material as the flavor of cold brew was unbeatable.

I’ve had one of this little guys for about a year and it gets the job done, period. Mr. Coffee maker 5 cups is an excellent choice if you don’t have a large countertop. Great, for one or two persons. I bought this one for my uncle single uncle and he’s very happy with it. It’s a very simple coffee maker. It has two buttons, one to brew your coffee Now, and another one to brew your coffee Later. The third button is the timer, you set your timer and hit the brew button and your coffee will be ready whenever you want, simple as that. Recommended 100%.

  • Works great, super easy to use. Just drank my 1st cup delicious!

Upon arrival and unboxing, one arm was already crooked as heck. It was a small thing so I didn't want to return it. I washed the product and gave it a try. It worked very well on the first use and there were no coffee grounds in my final coffee. However, every use after, my coffee had sediment at the bottom of my coffee and I have had to start using coffee filters inside this, which defeats the purpose of getting this in the first place. It's nice and compact but I have to pack filters with it, so that's a pass for me. I do not recommend this product.

  • This is such an amazing portable cappuccino maker! I can’t believe how easy it is to take with me wherever I go and have a fresh hot cup of coffee or cappuccino on the spot. The instructions are simple to follow and I really like the accessories it comes with, especially the coffee grind jar. It tastes great when filled with the right amount of coffee grounds, though it did take me a couple of tries to get it just right. But once I figured it out, good to go! I love that it works with both ground coffee and capsules and the fact that it can brew with cold or preheated water makes it even more versatile. Once you turn it on and press the brew button, which is the same button, it takes about five minutes to fully brew from room temperature water. The build is plastic but tough plastic, so it feels durable enough for travel. The Type C charging is a nice touch making it super convenient for on the go. This is such a neat invention and it's perfect for outdoors whether camping, hiking, or just keeping in my bag when I go onsite to a client’s house and need a quick pick me up. Definitely a must have for coffee lovers on the go!

We’ve had our technivorm moccamaster for about 2 years now and this thing makes a killer cup of coffee, and FAST. I love it. My only issue with it is that once every couple of months I have a disaster to clean up. The pot sometimes catches on the plastic implement that controls the flow from the basket in such a way that the machine dumps coffee and grounds all over my counter and onto the floor if I don’t catch it. I then spend a lot of time cleaning grounds from tiny crevices on the machine and it’s not what you want to do when you should be enjoying your first cup of the day. For an over $300 machine, I’d expect a better design and non-plastic pieces.
