I recently purchased this Keurig Coffee Maker to replace my old one and put together my little coffee bar. The size is perfect, it is not too big or too small. It makes several cups of coffee before it needs a refill. It heats very quickly and the multi puncture on top of the pod makes for really good coffee. My only concern when I opened it was the water dispenser side seemed a little unsteady, but once I filled it with water and placed it in the holder it was much better. I have no worries with it now. Really happy with my purchase.
My photo shows metal residue not coffee from the press handle. The interior I've wiped with my fingers, no metal residue. I stopped using the press handle for one that is stainless steel... Your drinking metal... We swapped out the top from another glass press and it fits.
Works ok but arrived with handle broken off & shipped in a very thin cardboard box
This coffee maker is perfect for making coffee for just you or a couple people. It has plenty of space in the reusable filter (which is easy to clean) for however strong you like your coffee. It even comes with a coffee mug cup. Built well enough and a reputable brand.
Purchased the cold brew maker just over 2 months ago. The lid is rusting like crazy! Normal? Very surprised and disappointed.
I’ve used Nespresso in the past and have had a machine that is now 5 years old. But this one, comes with the milk frother! This is a very good sized coffee/espresso maker, utilizing the Vertuo Pods. It comes with the stainless steel milk jug that can hold 8oz. The water tank is in the back so it is not in the way and allows a narrow profile. The pods fit at the top and the machine will not work unless it is locked in place. In about 30 seconds, your pod is empty and ready to mix with milk. Once you open the top the pod automatically falls into the disposable tray, which is great so you know it will always be empty and ready for the next pod. As an added bonus, this came with a 12 pod sample pack (8 different espressos and 4 coffee). Again, Nespresso makes your coffee/espresso making a very easy and fast experience.
Have a smaller one and hubby had a glass French press this size. It broke on him so we have been sharing. I have to have decaf and he 1/2 caffeine. Just had my first pot. Perfect . And it won’t break. Is insulated so stays warm. With foam added it makes a perfect cappuccino!
Second update since original purchase - DO NOT BUY! Several glaringly bad design items with this machine, the worst of which is the K-Cup....they don't seat right and grounds overflow into a fantastic mess and lengthy clean up! Frankly, so much aggravation they should refund me!! Read previous details below... Decided to upgrade from our old reliable Cuisinart DCC-1100BK to add a K-Cup option. Here are initial findings. You'll note I've added some helpful photos....and updates below, might be worth the read to save a big mess! Out of the box the unit looks nice, prep, set up & initial clean pretty simple especially if you've own Cuisinart before. The pot handle seemed a little less sturdy than my old DCC. Front panel is pretty self explanatory but if your accustomed to a push on/off on front panel, the power switch is on right at base. So you'd either let the unit power off by itself (you can set that length of time) or use switch on side. Carafe Coffee maker: Unlike the old unit the new maker presents a problem with filing the water chamber due to the K-Cup location. It would have been better, at least for filling, if the units had been swapped. With this new unit you have to aim carefully and pour down into chamber. Steady hand required. A full pot brew time was over 8 minutes. The brewed water maxed out at about 184 degrees. With the heat plate set to M the carafe water dropped 2 degrees over about 20 minutes. With the heat set to H the carafe water increased by about 4 degrees. Most say you need to brew at about 200 degrees +/- and then maintain 185 degrees. Hard to determine exact 'internal' brew temperature but based on the water temp immediately after last drop, seems it could brew a little hotter. I have always used the gold filter, it does leave some sediment in the bottom but eliminates paper filters and more garbage/expense. K-Cup brewer: The water chamber was removable for easy filing. The cup tray is removable for taller to-go cups. The K-Cup brewer worked pretty quickly -BUT- the temp maxed out at only about 177 degrees and started falling quickly! This has always been my dislike of K-Cup brewers - it ain't hot enough! By the time you add creamer you've achieved warmish liquid. But, to enjoy the many K-Cup flavor options on the market, you deal with it. My work around is this - brew the K-Cup into an appropriate size measuring cup and then microwave the liquid for 20-30 seconds; microwaves may vary use caution. Coffee snobs would say, NO, you killed it. But, I increased temp from 160ish to 200ish, immediately poured into insulated to-go cup and added creamer. Thus achieving a 'work-around solution and carrying temp of about 185ish. Our Contigos keep coffee warm for hours. Note: After reading a few reviews I highly suggest that you PRESS DOWN on your K-Cup pod - it will snap flush onto the pin. If you don't press down and 'snap it in place' the top pin can make a 'tear' instead of a cleaner sealing puncture. A tear might leak, a 'downward' round puncture might not. See this is why HONEST reviews are so helpful! - - - -update, BUT, this hasn't always worked and I've had many grounds and water overflows creating hell of a mess! So.....an initial 4-star due to the water filling issue and the water temperature issues. Probably the biggest CON is water filling on the carafe side. It almost requires something spouted to more easily fill the chamber. Some have reported leaking from both sides, I'll update if either of mine leak. But, I'm beginning to think the safer bet is to leave the K-Cup water reservoir on the machine and fill it up while on as opposed to taking it off and going to fridge for filtered water. Yes, try to always use filtered water. It was never and issue with my old DCC model - but! Anyway, to be fair, I know there are more expensive coffee makers out there but I've found Cuisinart fairly reliable in the past - time will tell on this one. Update! The coffee maker keeps flashing clean, although I've cleaned many times. Called and they gave suggested fixes, didn't work, but coffee still brews fine so I'll just live with the small issues. Speaking of...as I noted about pressing down on Kpod earlier...I have sadly learned that the eco pods simply don't work in this unit. Such as my favorite Cameron's Southern Pecan!! You can't press these down...so the metal tip won't stab the top...it simple presses it down causing hot water to run over the top of the kPod AND if you don't immediately stop this process the hot water weakens the pod lid and then grounds go EVERYWHERE! I think if they would just fix the issues I've mentioned and stop the 'clean' light from flashing...I otherwise really like this coffee maker. Highly recommend Motts Apple Cider for non coffee drinkers.
The advertisement for a quick coffee brew is a lie. It brews for 3 minutes and continues to drip for another 10 minutes. There is no seal on the grinds holder so it just continuously keeps dripping and dripping, you need to put a napkin underneath to prevent a mess from happening.. The other thing is that you dont know how much coffee you will get. If you dont drink coffee everyday then the water in the reservoir evaporates and you have no way to know how much water is needed to fill it up or to make a full cup of coffee.. They better fix these things or another company will come along and make a better product.
Dislike
This made more of a mess than I would have liked. In the process of returning it.
I often full time in my campervan. Electricity is always at a premium and this lets me have my morning coffee with ease then I charge it through the day. It couldn’t be more perfect. With cold water it will make 3 espresso.
While the idea is a good one, it is useless if you cannot use it! It is jammed in and even needle nose pliers cannot get it out. Handle is one piece that doesn’t unscrew from glass. Don’t buy.
Pros: three levels o coffee brew on main menu. I use Gold 90%, but did try Strong on a coffee that seemed to light on first brew. Thermo keeps coffee hot for at least 3 hours (thats the longest duration so far I have had coffee keeping warm). Many options of brewing. Some complain of it being loud when brewing but I didn't think so. Con's: In the well at bottom of reservoir you should expect to have some water pool after brewing done. Does not bother me and dont see it being anymore of an issue than coffee makers that have reservoirs you keep water in between uses. I use a 3-inch round sponge to draw up the residual water. What has been the one TRUE disappointment is I dropped the lid to the coffee carafe and one side popped out of position. I can't get it back into its correct position. Still functions, but I am concerned at some point the piece will be dislodged completely. One drop and it "breaks"..bummed
The Braun MultiServe Plus Drip Coffee Maker is a sleek, easy to set up and use coffee maker. When my box arrived and I opened the outer box, the coffee maker box was damaged. I was nervous that the machine would be damaged. Once opened and looked over; everything was there and no damage to the machine. I did a quick read over the instructions and ran it through the initial cycle to remove any dust and debris during packing and shipping. I liked how quick it was to set the time and all the buttons are straight forward. The water reservoir also has little imprints on it for a quick reference for making iced coffee, half or full pot. The scoop that was included also had imprinted references for how many scoops to what you want to make. Our first run of making coffee I added the 10 large scoops for a full pot. It seemed like a lot for me and yes it was extremely strong on gold setting. So that pot I ended up pouring over ice. Next pot I trimmed it down 2 scoops and I felt it was still a bit strong. I have finally balanced the scoops for our liking. The other reason I gave the coffee maker a 4 star was when I pull the carafe out after the done brewing beeps; the coffee seems to drip onto the hot plate while filling my cup. I now use the switch that is listed to use if using the cup option. Enjoying the coffee now that we have it figured out to how we like coffee. The coffee tastes smoother than our previous maker. The water reservoir holds 50 ounces of water which is great. The maker is simple to use and run time is quick. This coffee maker takes up a bit more space on my counter than my previous one. I am enjoying coffee to suit my mood and desire! This is also nice when entertaining or have guests that enjoy different varieties of coffee!
